My goodness, this brings back some memories. In my old job, I didn't start work until lunchtime, so I had the whole morning to watch the educational programmes on the BBC and Channel 4! I remember the 'Magic E' character from a series of this show which featured a serialisation of the story 'Through The Dragon's Eye' - I was hooked on this, being the child at heart I am, and never missed an episode!

I teach English to Adult foreigners... and the English final e is such an awkward concept to grasp - I actually still call it magic e... It helps the rule stick in their mind. and I learnt it all that time ago on words and pictures...
