When I first heard this tune I thought it was a synthesizer until I saw them when they made a stop on the "5150" tour in Detroit & Ed played his solo. a thought went through my head like "OH MY FUCKING GOD !!, HE'S DOIN' THAT ON A GUITAR ???!!!!. Turn your amp, loud on clean channel. then in a "Dotted 8th" pattern, turn the volume on the guitar up from 0-5 or so and off again. It is similar to PG the echo song and buckethead Bug Sur Moon, but, you are not picking the notes. You hammer on and turn the volume up and down in dotted 8th's.

In the early 70s the Lovin Spoonful had a hit called "Daydream" - the guitarist uses volume swells to make his guitar sound like a trumpet. As Beethoven once said "the guitar is a miniature orchestra!" I TRULY remember finding out that a girl liked me (while working in King Kullen with my friend) and we went out listening to this album and got crazy 69 style in the Dead of winter in the mid section of the Blazer my friend picked us up in. Granted it was almost 20 yrs after this album came out but it took NOTHING away from its impact...NOTHING!!

Diver Down is more of a David Lee Roth kinda album. The rest of the band didn't like the album, especially Eddie, he hated the album. To Eddie this album was when Van Halen started to suck, but 1984 became possibly their most popular album yet. I can't wait till their new album!
