@jengolance Uh, US Navy. Air Force pukes wouldn't know what to do with a Tomcat. It's called money. The F-14 was deemed "aging" and "too costly" for keep. There was talk about the Super Tomcat 21, Grumman even built one, but it too was shot down by budget factors. Now the Bug is wearing all hats of planes now retired; Intruder, Tomcat, S3 Viking. The Bug is an all-in-one, but it will never be Tomcat superiority.

@nicksf1 Yea buddy... VF-101 The Grim Reapers was the "replacement junkyard" for F-14s in the East coast. We get'em, patch'em up, test'em and send them back to their original destination. Also we had fresh out of class future F-14 pilots... so newbies after their 1st flight, some had a huge smile, others had their vomit bags full lol!! And even others left the "twinkie" wrappers on the cockpit! I join the Navy because of Top Gun the movie... F-14 Baby All the Way!
