What a cutie! Our CAG is 7 yo. He says just about everything and can actually carry on a conversation with a person. He knows colors, food and our household by name, including the dogs and the cat.
Keep up the good work with this one! Loving them means so much!

There are two main types (possibly 3) of African greys - it's based on the part of Africa they are from - Lola is a Congo African Grey. There is also a slightly smaller Timneh African Grey - they tend to talk earlier (average age 6 months instead 12 months like the Congo) but at maturity both are equally good talkers. Both males and females talk equally well (search for the Einstein Video on youtube from Pet Stars - Einstein is an amazing female CAG).
It doesn't really matter whether they're a boy or girl. It just depends on the bird. Some talk a lot, some don't utter a word their entire life. Each bird is different. But it's not neccesarily based on the sex of the bird.
i know tht ppl but was an opinion and i even had parrots and an yako so i know this thing maybe this parrot from this vid is much more smarter but it doesnt show!u want opinions eh?than let ppl express themselves...
The name of the video "Smart African Grey Parrot" is because Lola calls himself "smart, smart, smart" in the video not becuase I am claiming he is smart. Expressing yourself is great but your comments sounded insulting to Lola and parrots in general.
monkeymaddie you may want to check out Scientific American Frontiers - do a search for "Alex" - this parrot (and his companions) have been under study for many years and can count, name colors and objects, tell you what is the "same" and what is "different". Lola isn't an Einstein but he also knows his colors, names of objects and can ask for items appropriately.
yep makes sense this parrot is not smart i saw parrots smarter than this the only thing is doing is repeating some words like smart smart smart....is cute but not very very smart..get it...and in plus universalwinkey99,papa noel means (santa claus)...and im not french.
Greys are banned in Oz? I did know that...! Nuts... And your Greater Sulphur cocky's cost $2500/US here...! I hear you can buy them there for $50/US.... Nuts...!
I love these birds. They are so beautiful and so intelligent. I have 2 of these birds and mine sounds very similar to this one, it's like being back at home :-(. "Come here pretty" lol that's funny, mine always tells me to get my ass out of the bathroom, something she learned from my dad.
Cute vid. Did Lola used to be a girl lol? Alfie is the same - she used to be a boy! Thanks for sharing.

Lola would be better off without the distraction of the other birds...she would be a better talker for you.
A single bird becomes your best friend...(best way I can explain it.)
