  • I knew Fred Johnson the original bass along with C. Harp the lead these guys suck!

  • - I love seeing this group sing & dance. They each have very nice voices and are really nice people.

  • - I know all the guys on the stage & their producer is one of the original Marcels. All these guys are really nice, good singers & good dancers. They all come from other original oldies groups.

  • Nahhhhhh!!! Where are the Original Marcels? Where's Freddy Johnson, Pittsburgh's #1 BassMan? Love you, Freddy wherever you are 'cause there's no one like you!!

  • Who ARE these guys? Theyre not the guys who made the reocrd.

  • The current incarnation of this group.

  • @Building529 who cares, they sound Greaaaaaaaaat!

  • where is freddy johnson the bass voice wtf

  • Where is Freddie Johnson...only he can do justice to Blue Moon! Freddie, if you read this...we miss you...call us!

    Lynda & Paul

  • Yeah it sold 5-1/2 million copies but not you guys' version!!!!!

  • The Bassman that the marcels have now can run circles around Fred Johnson no disrespect!

  • good song but it is not the real the marcels

  • Kick ass!!!!

  • good

  • Those guys kick arse live! They sound better than the original!!! I love it!

  • They are ok...not great like the originals. The bass cuts out on the low notes, and the lead is shakey. The same crap happened to The Platters...every one was claiming to be the Platters and they all turned out crap and destroyed the legacy of the original Platters.

  • Who are these guys? Is there an origional member on stage? Do they have a trademark? They sound good, but they are not the Marcels unless one of teh following are on stage. I can say for sure Bassman Fred Johnson and lead Cornelius Harp are not on stage. they appeared on the Doo-Wop at 50 on PBS and can be found on You Tube. Baritone vocalist Richard F. Knauss teamed with Fred Johnson, Gene J. Bricker, Ron Mundy, and lead vocalist Cornelius Harp

  • I did find my answer. For my money, I would only pay to see Fred Johnson or Corneilus Harp as a Marcels group. I did see a Fred Johnson Marcels before 2004.

Walt Maddox joined The Marcels, in May of 1961. The group recorded "Heartaches Since joining the group in 1961 until the present, Walt continues as manager and producer for the group. In February, 2004, after a lengthy court battle, Walt was awarded all rights in the Marcels, and is the only individual legally permitted to book the group.

  • Very, very good.

  • I would guess if someone buys the rights to the name of as group (i.e. the Drifters, Jay & The Americans, The Platters, etc, they can lawfully use that name. It is a different story if you just use the name without permission / rights.

  • these are not the marcels...just another copycat group that is using their name...and i thought they passed a law against this

  • great! they sound great! but the 1961's version is better. they sounded much older.. but still great!

  • top notch great stuff :)

  • Next time they are in the Michigan area I would love to go see them! I really like there bass singer. But I do have to agree with the fact that Fred Johnson is irreplaceable.

  • Eh fantasticoo!

    It's fantastic!!!!

  • Great Voices!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the best song in the world

  • Too bad they are not the originals-The bass man can't compare to Fred Johnson who was the original bass singer. And Fred is still out there performing.

  • Yeah Agree!

I'm a metal head too and i like this song...classic rulesssssssss!

  • I enjoyed watching the video of The Marcels. They do a really good job. I have got to see them sing three times so far and I hope that I get to hear them sing again. They are some really nice people. They are one of my favorites groups. I really like the song "Blue Moon".

  • awsome song...love it...hey im a 22 year old metal head...gotta love the classics!
