  • There was like over a hundred levels in this game. The fire engulfed levels were the best ones. Huge arsenal of weapons. The building snipers were hard to dodge. Guys it was a 16bit game!!!! It was groundbreaking technology "and I talked too"

  • аааа, мелодия с первых уровней отпечаталась у меня в голове ещё в далёком 95 году. до сих пор вспоминаю частенько её! Как же мы от неё тащились в детстве! =)))

  • It will be cool, if someone will make OpenGL port of this game.

  • This game probably has the best shotgun sound ever.

  • Zero Tolerance>Doom 1. Sure DOOM had a better framerate, but did it allow you to jump? Were there security cameras in DOOM? Did it have as much of an eerie atmosphere as ZT? Can you play DOOM on a non-linear manner like Zero Tolerance ( the latter in which you could skip a floor, get power ups in a different floor and then return to eliminate the baddies to beat the level)? Could you choose between different protagonists in DOOM? I rest my case.

  • @plopmon1 Doom had far better gameplay and level design. Zero Tolerance had more features like jumping, an inventory, and selectable characters, but both in terms of its game engine and overall gameplay/fun factor, there's no way Zero Tolerance even comes close to matching Doom. If you want to see Zero Tolerance done in an even better way with floors you can return to, etc., check out Blake Stone.

  • @Chubzdoomer Zero Tolerance is actually the first FPS I've ever played, Wolfenstein 3D second. I enjoyed them both and it brought a lot of nostalgia when I see some gameplay videos of them. I've tried doom, marathon, and Duke Nukem 3D but they never caught on with me. Didn't like fast paced action, maybe it's why I never really liked UT.

  • @Chubzdoomer It had jump kicks. There's no comparison.

  • old school! love it

  • I fucking loved this game, I racked up a shit load of hours on this!

  • Помню как в нее было страшно играть, особенно если ты один дома)))

  • Bring me a lot of memories!!

  • shooting through wall doesn't work here, it's not CS !

  • АААААААААААААА!!!! Мое детство! Верните мне мою молодость!!!!!!!

  • у меня аж мурашки по коже от музыки

  • This game better then CoD

  • Nothing funy about this game, because this game is 10.000 times better then for example resistance 3, and battlefield 3 BETA

  • I rented this from local video store hooked it up to my stereo played for hours

  • I remember when me and my brother chose to buy Garfield instead of this, and then spent the rest of our childhoods regretting. xD

  • this brings back good memories, I remember when I first played this and thought it was a rail shooter, kept waiting to move until I pressed forward by accident then I was like "oh =O" *facepalm*

  • Палец вверх, кто прошел игру до конца!

Thumbs Up, who has been playing to the end!

  • афигительная игра. все мелодии из уровней до сих пор в памяти

  • My 1st introduction into the world of fps's. Many good times have been had with this beasty game.

  • Nice =) back to the future !! =)

  • Woah damn, a rush of memories overwhelmed me...

  • he is definitly using aimbot

  • sex: F !?!?!?!?1

  • @MrHellstorm177 Sex: Female

  • annoys me that this game is never put on top sega games list

  • It is my favourite game =)

  • Nostalgy=)

  • God I love the chunky sound effects, especially the bug deaths :). I replayed this recently and it has definitely withstood the test of time, and is even better than some of today's FPSs!

For those who weren't alive/self-aware in the time of the megadrive, cartridge memory was measured in KBs instead of today's GBs, so to make a '3D' game on the megadrive was a work of genius!

  • Holy shit i couldn't remember the name of this game for over a decade and hearing that music created an inta nostalgiagasm, used to play this so much as a kid

  • amunition is LOW

  • amunition is LOW

  • i must have rented this game 15+ times from blockbuster as a kid

  • i used to play this game when i was a kid with my father (rip dad)

  • i still play this game

  • The goofiest thing about this game is the enemies are only ALERTED when you actually SEE them... SO if you walk into a room backwards it isn't suicide.

  • I remember saving up my pocket money and having to choose between this and Bloodshot as I could only afford one of them. I got this and didn't look back.

  • Loved this game... bleeding walls FTW

  • Do you really need the ability to jump ina game with no different heights?

  • spent many a night playing this game. good stuff

  • I beat this game like 20 times on the Genesis. Didn't own a computer so I couldnt play Doom till I got one in 1996 :(

  • Oh man i remember i was so freaking scared when playing this game xD especially about those things that crawl on the ceiling. But at the same time i loved it!! i still have the cartridge of this game!! Good old Sega Genesis game! great game :P

  • Oh god I loved this game, I played the hell out of it on Genesis.

  • Man, I had this game. It had MANY flaws, but they were mostly weighed up by the simple fact that blowing up the bad guys had a very satisfying omph to it, it was all it needed;)

  • If you walk backwards enemies don't see you

  • I feel such nostalgia when i saw this ;]The Good Old Days...

  • i remeber...this game was the most expensive game for sega.Me and my friend collected money for this game...oh that times ...fuckin good times " "

  • It's like 1st half of screen - game and 2nd half is your licence and fish sonar. :D

  • Headache collected

  • @xiaolnmunk looooool

  • Were the rooms always dark to get more perormance?

The sega mus have had technical limitations, similar to silent hill on the ps1 and the fog.

    Doom looked a lot better.

  • Shotgun colected....

  • this game was really impressive and too bad it got overshadowed by games not as good. I would of loved to link up, just never had the lead or a friend with the game as they all had Super Nintendo's :/

  • I have to say, I still think this game has one of the coolest menu screens ever.

I loved this game when I was a kid it was a pretty decent shooter, all things considered. Blood-Shot may have had a better rendering engine but this was a better game, in my opinion.

  • master p could've turned that into some no limit marching song hella easy haha any1 know where i can d/l that intro????

  • The opening music is the best.

  • I remember my big brother playing this alot when I was a kid. He never finished it but when I picked it up, I ended up beating it lol.

    Great game.

  • 1:57 epic rambo within the first 2 minutes of playing >:D No waaaiiiii :O

  • awesome game.. but it got hard

  • Tne music is bitching.

  • Those big rooms on the basement floor scared me for some reason.

  • medpack collected ;)

  • Best music opening ever.

  • oddly reminds me of wolfenstien 3d

  • Funny, this game incorporates a lot of gameplay from Capstone's Corridor 7 and the elevator music sounds a lot like "Girl from Ipanema" I wish I had this game when it was new, but my parents didn't want to spring for the 60 dollar price tag.

  • This game was awesome!

  • best game ever!

  • That... music...

  • @Ghettoflame1 .. kick ass

  • Other funny stuff, one of the officers is called Tony Ramos, which is a name of a famous actor here in Brazil.

Me and my friend used to make a lot of jokes with him. I know, lame, but we were kids.

  • This, sir, was my favorite Genesis game ever.

I loved the soundtrack and the game dynamic. It's a very unique game indeed.

If you guys have Genesis emulator or even own a Genesis console it's not optional, you should get this game for god sake.

  • These old FPS used to scare the 16-bit shit out of me.

  • i am selling this game compplete with manual message me if ur intterested

  • Great game

  • The action screen should be bigger IMO. Why did they think it was necessary to have the ID of the character displayed?

  • @zzzra86 Almost certainly for frame-rate reasons.

  • Zero enemies remaining :-)

I really love this game (i got my cartridge in 1995 !) but I always thought they could have made the action sreen a bit larger.

    Sweet memories

  • I loved the tune in the start and after all these years still love it, 'twas a great game

  • This game was really fun for a couple hours but then it just dragged on and on with endless levels that looked exactly the same...

  • wow nostalgia! I freakin loved this game. dare i say more so then Doom!

  • I know what you mean. The crab army is scarier than most of the demons in DOOM. Also, the bio-scanner increased my paranoia in a way that Doom could not. The suspence, I think, comes from seeing hundreds of red dots and not knowing what type of enemies you are surrounded by. To me, knowing exactly where the enemies are is scarier. If I am not anticipating a random bad guy, and he attacks me, I merely shoot back(Doom) However, if I know where the baddie is, getting hurt makes me feel helpless.

  • @osiris292 SO true ;D

  • @osiris292 duuude me too :O

  • sucks ass

  • game super

  • handgun collected handgun collected handgun collected handgun collected handgun collected handgun collected handgun collected handgun collected handgun collected handgun collected handgun collected handgun collected handgun collected handgun collected handgun collected handgun collected

  • @turnedmold shotgun collect handgun collected handgun collected shotgun collected medipak collected. Lol, I remember that annoyance. The only thing worse is when the floor is cleared and it constantly repeats, "Proceed to next level" and "Floor secured."

  • First FPS i have ever played, i remember i didnt get that i had to actually clear the levels and had to do a shitload of backtracking, in the end i finished with one guy left alive.

  • wtf, you actually beat it? i never did...

  • cool looking game

  • Oh good god the nostalgia, <3

It may not be Doom, but it damn well isn't far off. I wonder whatever happened to the PSP remake that was originally claimed to be in production... ?

  • CHE BEI RICORDI.. ERO PICCOLO...

  • oh, i can remember...

  • gosh, that game was scary. really! :D

  • check his sex, it says F!!!! xD hahahahahhahahahahahahahahahaha

  • Never thought that the character is a female character?

  • @Deraneo

You had 5 chars, each with their own strengths. Technically you had 5 retries. If 1 died you had to pick another. The Doc gained double health from med kits, the demolisher could walk through demo charges without triggering them and so on. The woman (marksman) could shoot beside them and still hit them.

  • Lol, this guy is pretty good at this game. I remember it being ridiculously hard.

  • I am glad to see this ...This used to be one of my favorites...Thxxx

  • What a game. I used to use my joypad with the autofire buttons and just hose 'em down with the shotgun. Love that sound. But I was a bit of a disturbed girl...

I just went on Technopop's homage site. Turns out that all the player characters were based on real people.

  • afaik, based on developers themself

  • Shotgun Collected! Man remember those days when I played this)! nice game btw

  • I used to own this game. Was hard as hell. One main thing that blew about it is it wouldn't save unless you had cleared that lvl of all enemies and all previous lvls as well. But it was still fun. Gave me a great challenge.

  • One of my favorites SEGA games of all times.

  • OMFG!!! i love this game

  • yo чуваки zero forever !!! the best game я все детство в не играл

  • I remember playing this game as a kid and was amazed by it. I actually found a glitch in the game where those stupid bug-like aliens would stay stuck in one spot. Luckily that glitch was in a level that was fuckin' hard and I couldn't pass. I am proud to say that I beat it and thanks to the emulators I have this game on my PSP

  • and Satoe Ishii is definitely a dyke

  • @stickydisgust: haha, hell yeah

  • I've been humming the theme song all week and needed to hear it again. I last played this game in '94 when I was 8!

  • i remember this game

it was so scary for me

    and damn hard!

  • @Stalkerxx: i remember this game being scary as shit back when i was a kid. damn hard as well!

  • is there a way to play 2 players by making a link cable?

  • Yes. I got the instructions from the developers a few years back and made a cable. Needs two consoles with two carts and it works perfectly. Meant as co-operative, however you can move freely between levels and play as deathmatch if you choose in cleared out area. Great game. I played this to the finish and found some neat bosses along the way. Last level was really hard with nice boss. (I had poor health and ammo to start). At least 40 levels, very long.

  • i love the intro song!!!

  • WHOLEY SHIT!!!! i played the mother fuck out of this game in the 90's Very nostalgic! i'm gunna buy tis now!!~

  • Quite an impressive game on the Megadrive. I'm surprised there was never a Megadrive version of Doom released since there was a Snes version of Doom. :)

  • There was doom released on the 32x

  • Looks cool!

  • Самая классная игра на Сеге!

  • согласен!!!

  • CLASSIC! Really excelent game !

  • im really confused do u need a special controoler for or does it work on the normal geniss with no acessories please respond anyone

  • like does it need the mega drive cause i have a normal genisis with i think a turbo controller

  • A mega drive is just the name of the genesis in Europe. Japan and other countries.

  • thanks

  • Great game, remember playing it alot when it came out.Still got copy of it which is put on now again on my Sega Nomad.

  • This was the best game ever when i was a kid

I put in many hours on my genesis and Zero Tolerance. whats funny is over the years i have had every console made and and my old sega is still working where as the Ps3 and X box 360 has had to be replaced after just a short lifetime of course im a hard gamer

    X box 360 life 2yrs 1 month

    PS3 life 1 yr 3 months

    Sega Genesis life 16 yrs

I thought technology was supposed to improve ?

Guess they just dont make em like they used too....lol

  • In my top ten. I still remember the Green House level... My first FPS game.

  • This game used to scare me when I was a kid. My brother used to play it on Sega Channel

  • It's cool game, one of my favourite games on sega MegaDrive.

  • same here, classic game! ;)

  • Yea cool! It was the 1rst FPS game I'd ever played. Never could find the link-cable. There's another FPS, which could be played two player splitscreen co-op+deathmatch but, I can't remember it's name.

  • I remember there were some creepy things who were crawling up on your ass from ceilings and walls, kinda like xenomorhps from Aliens... I was quite afraid of them

  • Captain Ishii is one skinny giant.

    Ht 155

    Wt 55

  • I'm surprised I've only heard of this recently, I didn't think that an FPS on the Genesis could be as good as this. Before this the only Genesis FPS I've played was the Brazilian Tec Toy port of Duke Nukem 3D which makes me cry at night. Too bad the screen size is so small, and the music is pretty unimaginative. Other than those two gripes this is a good game for what it's worth.

  • while this game would be considered very average on the pc, it was the only good fps on the genesis, aside from the disapointing doom port (you needed a 32x for it besides)

  • It is the BEST sega mega drive game :)

  • The European version i have, does only contains robots and aliens... And it was banned in germany though. Anyway. Still one hell of a great game! I really liked the highrise levels. Something in that really reminds me to Chubgam 3D and Blake Stone for DOS.

  • hmm i remember killing some huge robot boss in this then i died lol

  • i love this game

when you crouch you can shoot in the dead bodies lool

and sometime when you shoot someone in front of you the blood splattered on the wall behind him

    goooooooooooooooore ;-)

this game was the reason i want a genesis mega drive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Even today, that title screen music, and the music on the space station can probably give me chills, just like it could've back when I first played it.

  • i like the music when you start the game.

  • one of my top fav sega games

  • Zero Tolerance Link Cable is the only thing missing from this vid!:) Did you know you can play this with 2 different systems on two different TV's with a buddy who had a link cable, similar to online playing!:)

  • Yes I was aware but I was never able to get a hold of one here in Australia.

  • I signed that card that came with the game back in 1994...posted it... but they never send me the cable here in Amsterdam..

But I like the game, specialy the levels with the dogs running after you! Great great game! They should make a NEXTGEN version of it

  • best idea i'v ever heard about the nextgen game

  • @hushg2000 i remember the fights caused because of cheating haha one goes to the other room for info on the opponent haha..love this game

  • wen is was young this game used to scare me.lol

  • i remember playing this when I was 7 with my friends

  • Played that game when i was 7 Years old..kick ass Music Sound..ahh..good memories..i think i gonna look for my Megadrive, maybe it still works ;-)

I got Alien Version (not Humans) at Begin of the LvL

Anyone else got the Problem..Controllers were too hard and so your Fingers hurt after playing 1-2 hours...best thing of preventing kids to play to often *g*

  • *Handgun collected*

    *Shotgun collected*

    *Medicpack collected*

    *Zero enemies remains*

    *PROCEED TO NEXT LEVEL*

  • yeah its like a flashback

  • i've spend countless hours playing this

  • This game has such an odd sound track

  • This game is awesome! It is the major FPS on the Sega Genesis/Megadrive

  • I loved this game as a kid, I bought a brand new copy off ebay recently even though I dont have a sega anymore.

I do play it on the DS though, through emulation of course.

  • My first FPS too. I loved this on the Genesis.

  • Super Game.. my first FPS

  • ntsc version? its too fast to be pal version.. i have 2 versions of the game. one of them there are no humans in the games. there is aliens on first series of levels...

  • I remeber playing this game when i was in the 3rd grade it was awesome. This vid brings back alot of good MEMORIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • great game.. realy..

First 3d game that i played

  • ahhh, the game that got me into FPS. I was like 14 or smg when i got this game as a present when i was in hospital. Even my dad played it. A remake of this would rock!

  • Great game! this was my first person shoter when i was 17

  • id play this game but my sega controler is broke

  • this game was the dogs bollox!! i had it back in the day and even now its holds its own..fuck the snez with doom

  • I just bought this game today. it's okay... but I would rather play Wolf3d or Doom on the SNES ;)

  • i fucking loved this game too much awesome video 5stars no questions

  • Also, can you imagine if this game was remade as a mod for a game like Doom 3, Quake 4, or any other FPS out there?
