  • I remember when this came out..I would sneak to the popular hangout ..have a blast and they run home hoping to beat my dad home "

  • I was negative 5. It's a great song though. I'll take sixties music over eighties music any day.

  • "the police are after you!"

  • @filmflipful Some jkind of chickenshit bastard. You pinkball fucker.

  • @JennyEllenNelson hate to burst your bubble but it doesn't matter how old you are. Doesn't matter how old the music is either. It's great and it'll always be great and your taste will always be sound. That's all that matters :P :)

  • @JennyEllenNelson I'm 27 and I agree!

  • @JennyEllenNelson ugh i feel like every preteen/teenageer who likes anything older than soundgarden has to say something like that at every opportunity.

  • Half way through this song they decide to invent hard rock.

  • Was 8 years old in 1965 when this song was new on the radio; loved it

back then, and still do in 2011!

  • I don't think Clapton played guitar on this song. He was there for this session. Chris Dreja could b playing guitar.

  • @cameltooth1 He played the faster rhythym parts but I think Dreja played most of it

  • menacing vibrations in this place

  • when i first heard this song i was 13 or 14 and always thought they said TO-YO-TA..TOYOTA,LMAO

  • @xxxEMINENTxxx lol its sounds like they do lol

  • Feueralarm :D

  • Listen to this, this will make you moist.

  • brilliant...wasn't the 60's just the best decade for music?

  • @Canashea I always thought of the 60's music is from 1964 to 1975

  • Jimmy Page sure as hell did better with Led Zeppelin...

  • Great

  • I'd would have liked to live in England when Radio Caroline was around to play this song

  • hehe....2 guys running in a hotel screaming....love the song.

  • @sataricon111 fear and loathing!!

  • what an underated song Curt cobain liked Bobby Sherman who covered this, so it was in part responsible for the modern Grunge sound, lets not forget who the Yardbirds guitarist was - Eric Clapton

  • @1tsMeRenee i'm not concerned with everyone's agreement. just glad that they still have some sense of humanity.

  • This is almost like pre-punk-rock. The origins of grunge and the like. Amazing.

  • Many Yardbird fans are thrilled to hear that these British legends, famous for the unmatched single "For Your Love," will not play in apartheid Israel. FREE PALESTINE

  • OMG------just hearing this again, even now, remembering my days of being 16 and beyond.....it is just heart-wrenching in both nostalgia and all it awakens in my own youth. Yet...how wonderful all at once. I have their album and I must listen to it again after so,so long. The era we are in now is so,so different. I am just glad to kow I belonged to one that believed in love & in the hope that it could change things in the World...the 'net has changed all that,I think,on different levels!,,,,,K xxx

  • who plays guitar on this?

  • @LolaLavonda I Could be wrong but I believe Eric Clapton played on this track, then left b/c he disliked the Yardbirds new pop oriented sound. He then recommended Jimmy Page, who being a session guitar player at the time, recommended Jeff Beck. Page then later joined the Yardbirds, first as bassist, then on twin leader guitar with Jeff Beck.

  • @TheJediRabbit thanks!

  • @TheJediRabbit You're right

  • I played this for a girl i work with,I think she got the hint!

  • My parents always listened to this song, I was a little girl, but still remember it. It will always be in my heart.

  • how fucking cool is this? incredible!

  • i was negative 31 when this song came out!! ah, the good old days.

  • @LolaLavonda Lol, That was perfect

  • @LolaLavonda So true, I sometimes write on papers the year is '66 just to be funny I guess...

  • gia tin agapi sou 8a edina ta panta!

  • i was 17 at the time. senior in high school. my brother was getting married the next day and i asked my dad to drive me to best buy so i could get some yard birds. this song will always remind me of the girl i had at the time. i heard this song and fell in love. i sang this to the girl and idk, it was awesome. it just makes me feel young again.

  • Pirate Radio anyone? God what a good song.

  • I was 14 when this hit the air waves...I wore white knee high boots ..usually a mini skirt and a turtleneck...hair down to my waist....those were the greatest of times

  • @Sami42653 *wolf whistle* You must have been one sexy girl! Forgive my forwardness. Damn, I wish I was born in that era. Music nowadays and fashions are shit.

  • LONG LIVE TO THE YARDBIRDS

  • Being chased by Las Vegas hotel security down the hallways running into room service carts while high on Ether!...

  • Always loved this song. Who's on guitar at this point in the band, Clapton or Beck? Sounds like Beck to me because the Yardbirds had much more of a blues sound when Clapton was with the group. I could be wrong. Do any of you Yardbirds fans know? Doesn't matter, still a great song.

  • @juscurious ...Eric Clapton.

The song was released around Feb. '65. Clapton left the band immediately after to join John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. He played on the cut, under protest that the band was moving toward "pop" and he being a bluesman. He suggested Jimmy Page to replace him...Page declined and recommended Jeff Beck. A few years later Page would join up, the band would fire Beck and after a few changes would evolve into Led Zeppelin.

  • @Greasydawg Yes, but when the original bassist Samwell-Smith left, Jimmy took on the role as the Yardbirds Bassist, and 2nd Guitarist sharing the stage with Beck before he was let go. Even after Plant/Jones, and Bonham where to form the Led Zeppelin as Keith Moon coined it The Band was still under an obligatory contractual agreement, and the name of the Band was the NEW Yardbirds for a short while. The rest is Historic :D

  • Apparently this was the last song that Clapton played on with the Yardbirds. It was last draw for Clapton. He didn't like the song. He's actually only playing for 15 seconds on the middle bridge. He left immediately after this session as he desired to play a more pure form of blues and not the "progressive pop" that was "For Your Love". Still a great song though. Beck took over after this session and (I believe) took the band to a another level.

  • timeless. this is the shit. no doubt about it. so much heart and soul xxxx

  • GONZO JOURNALIZM hell yeah epic soundtrack selection !

  • Music back then was them playing, not all kinds of computers , synthesizers and such,, was true musicians, and these guys are one of the best of their time

  • gr8

  • Thank God I was the class of '65. The music was great. Of course, that did involve getting drafted, being sent to war, and having the VA screw you over. Other than that, it was great.

  • @jimtraner It's an honor to love the same music as someone 30 years older than me.

  • Comment removed

  • The drums in this song are bad ass.

  • @RoxxtheOldies2 yardbirds meant chickens

  • #88 For Your Love - Yardbirds

  • Childish Gambino For Your Love Freestyle.

  • awwwwwwwwwwwwwww YEAHHHH

  • Disc Two, Track 8: "Let It Rock"

Kevin Rudolf and Lil' Wayne: SUCK IT!

  • wanna know the reason of why jimmy page left The Yardbirds acrdingly to mick wall? the reason is because nobody recognized him so he left nd made his own band which was called The New Yardbirds which would then be called Led Zeppelin... its all in the book "When Giants Walked the Earth: The Unathurized Biography of Led Zeppelin" one of he best books ive read

  • @rocknurzo To my disgust, I had no idea that Led Zeppelin originated from the New Yardbirds. Thank you for posting x x x x x x x x x x

  • @MOSESCAT69 no prob ^.^

  • The decision to flee came suddenly... or maybe not.

  • can't get any cooler than that!

  • Eric scares me with his staring...eeeee.

  • 4 ppl pay prostitutes ''For Your Love''

  • Always love this song!

  • love that tapping the background...sounds like a tambourine but i'm not sure...it has that hippy kind of sound..

what a difference between the music then and now...

    talent then bad music today...

  • This song is just so amazing!! Always loved this one!! Takes me back to better days. This song takes me back to days of true happiness and innocence. I miss those days. My heart just aches for those days so much. What a time that was! Never to be forgotten! There was a magic in the air back then that you just cant feel today and that is a real shame. This song is pure magic in itself!! Missing those days but hold the memories in my heart forever!! ☺♥

  • @awesomeeras131 I feel the same way and I was born in 1985; I listen to songs like this and feel an odd sense of familiarity and longing as if I were born in the wrong decade.

  • @Cinnamaniac I know what you mean, man. I was born in 1979 and The Monkees was the first tape I heard that had a similiar sound. Wish I had a time machine!

  • @awesomeeras131 i was about 14 when this song came out still rate it big time, spookmore

  • @awesomeeras131 man how old are you. you a so true !!

  • @awesomeeras131 omg get over yourself!

  • @awesomeeras131

this song was one of those that began the genre we knew as hippie music, which itself is the genre that has resulted in most of the rock and today's music that we enjoy

  • @awesomeeras131 ya i get what your saying, besides the fact that im only 18. but i wish everyday that i was born 40 or 50 years ago and be able to ride that bitchin wave i call the great journey, to know that you were alive in that corner of time in the world and had good times. now days its hard to 'let the good times roll' when theres no 'good times' to even 'roll' anymore. that wave has crashed, and rolled back. your right its a shame, i wish i could have experienced those years...

  • @miff45 That Government sent you to Nam, and you'd rather fight some poorly trained soldier because thier election of Ho Chi Min was not recognized by that government that sent you..Any how something is wrong about you, do you choose tosee it blind man...?

  • @mike62mcmanus

soldiers in Nam didn't use the term "Noob" that dude is probably some 21 year old who played too many video games.

  • i love the opening riff i herd this song from fear and loathing in las vegas

  • Thanks, you're right. I have the Mamma Cass version on vinyl, but I wasn't familiar with Beatles version (which I should have been). Billy J Kramer originally had this on the B side of "Bad To Me" another Lennon McCartney song, which I also have. According to wiki Lennon wasn't happy with the BJK version of ICYN and the Beatles recorded it themselves. Thanks again for the correct.

  • Only time I've ever heard harpsichord and bongos in the same song....and it works! Just brilliant!!

  • @mandarinlearner Don't forget anvil

  • Top marks to the Yardbirds for originality in using two different time signatures in the same 2:35 min song. Don't think the Beatles, Stones, Kinks did that. That would make it undanceable and a "sit it out and chill" kind of song. Amazing it is below 3 minutes ~ seems longer.

  • @SuperNevile i was also surprised its so short!

  • @SuperNevile sorry fella Beatles did it in 64 with I Call Your Name - later covered by Momma Cass

  • @SuperNevile "Here Comes the Sun", by The Beatles. The bridge can be transcribed as 11/8 + 4/4 + 7/8 or 3/8 + 3/8 + 5/8 + 4/4 + 2/4 + 3/8.

  • @Burrisant Thanks, but strictly speaking HCTS was late sixties, and I was talking early sixties originality. Thanks again for the continuing musical education though.

  • This is one of the best tracks by The Yardbirds!

  • 'Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas' bitches!!!

  • @segurotech and pirate radio

  • @segurotech the police :D

  • One Of The Best British Invasion Genre Songs.

  • Written by Gouldman who also wrote 'For Your Love' and 'Evil Hearted You'. Is this the only song based on an Em G A Am sequence?

  • @SuperNevile Yes it is

  • I Love this song. I konw it from Radio Rock xD

  • @TheBilderbuch me too:D

  • @kdavid93

  • FORYOURLOVE

  • i had this song playing in my head nonstop the last time i tripped on acid...then i watched fear and loathing in las vegas and this song was in the movie and i almost died of happiness

  • How do I find mp3iffy to download this song? I was told to google mp3iffy.

  • How do I find mp3iffy to download this song? I was told to google mp3iffy.

  • Eric clapton looks pissed at 1:32.

  • @dubbly1 Agreed. hahaha

  • newsuploader3000 I have played a lot of different genres of music from 40's Swing to electro This track still Rocks ! Cheers !

  • The Yardbirds are touring the US this month. I am going to see them at The Tangiers Akron Ohio on May 23.

  • saw the yardbirds with the kinks in 65, two great bands, and good times to be a teenager

  • @Niggerbutcher6 Hey, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Don't worry about talking shit. Believe me, I've heard worse on some of my comments. Peace!

  • @Niggerbutcher6 Here I am again! I posted that 2 months ago, and everyone came down on me for saying that. Saying Hendrix and Cream were the first hard rock bands. And I agree! But Led Zeppelin was just SO good and lasted much longer, that they stood out in my mind the most. I wouldn't want to insult Jimmy Page. I always thought he was cute & extremely talented!

  • @keaster55 The kinks were also hard rock pioneers aswell. The Beatles 1968 "white album" was the birth of metal.

  • @dubbly1 There a lot of people who would disagree with you, like they did with me. But you have to admit Helter Skelter was pretty far out there! That album was their masterpiece! Although by that time, the were writing and singing to their own music. Not much collaboration on that great album! But by going their own way with this album, we saw the influences and beauty off all of their different sounds. Who woulda thought Paul wrote and sang Helter Skelter, & John with his ballad Julia.

  • @Niggerbutcher6 I meant to say that Led Zeppelin was the first hard rock band I had heard. Not heavy metal! For heavy metal, maybe Black Sabbath!

  • @Niggerbutcher6 Who do you think was the "Pioneer of heavy metal"?

  • During my sophomore year in high school, we played this for our halftime show opener in marching band. Fun stuff, great piece.

  • is this a good song for a ski video

  • depends on the type of ski video, a powder video yes

    more technical rail video no

and if its jumps and shit off of kickers hells yes

  • Why doesnt all music still sound like this :/

:) i love this song especially in * The Boat That Rocked - the best film ever created :L

  • This is the first time I heard this song. I had a bias against the Yardbirds for a while for some un-known reason, but hearing this made me smile for the first time in a long while. I also felt goosebumps in my scalp, which is unusual, since I never feel it there.

  • orgasmic

  • great song x1000*****

thansk nick for the send babe xxx

  • What about Jimmy Page? He was only the pioneer of heavy metal bands, Led Zeppelin. I believe the best music was the early 70's. I love the 60's music, but it was much simpler. The early 70's music was beautiful in a different way. Check out Elton John's Tumbleweed Connection, not a bad song on it. Add the orchestra's alot of bands included to make truly classic music. I was lucky to have been a child of the 60's and a teenager in the 70's. I still listen to this music today.

  • @keaster55 Son, its Cream and Jimi Hendrix who pioneered Hard Rock. Not Led Zeppelin. Not Deep Purple. Not Black Sabbath.

    Cream and Hendrix

  • hell fuckin yea man, i agree with ya eddiemperor. music now adays.....sigh

  • Ya gotta love the Bongos.... and as you can hear, they sometimes sound even better with a bit of music. :)

  • OMG...I love this song...reminds me of my boyfriend in the summer of '65...he looked like a young Mick Jagger ...

  • @Ursugarspice great tune....

  • @Ursugarspice Well Mick's no looker, that's for sure. But it would be cool to have a boyfriend that looked like him. I dated a guy who looked like Steve Winwood. Not a looker either, but it was cool!

  • @Ursugarspice I'm sorry if you had a boyfriend who looked like Mick =)

  • @19RaS93 not everything is looks...I'm sure Mick is one hell raiser in bed!!!

  • @Ursugarspice That is really out of my interests =)

  • @Ursugarspice

    Your old

  • @JimJimJimNL and you stutter...never ceases to amaze me how rude some you are on You Tube...get a life.

  • @JimJimJimNL you're a bad speller

  • One of my all-time favorite songs...love hearing it in stereo!

  • what was clapton thinking.

  • Imagine Clapton leaving the band because of this song and instead wanted to record the corny I Shot the Sherriff"

  • You are RIGHT! This is a great song & Clapton was a fool to leave. Of course, we wouldn't have had Cream! And, that was a great band too.

  • Whats do Eric Clapton and coffee have in common?

    They both suck without cream.

  • hahahahahhaah YES. thats funny and competly true you PlatinumJestar have made my day with that one

  • Umm, that's complete bullshit. Bob Marley's music may've been kitchy, but never corny.

  • Super sexy song. Love it!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the song that made Clapton leave the band

  • Excellent!

  • Certainly one of my favorite Yardbird songs.. Thanks for posting...

  • smokin' hot- 40 years & counting

    thanks for posting!!

  • 45 years actually...summer of 1964 if I remember correctly & I was 6 years old & recall hearing this song quite a few times on the car radio as the family drove from southern California to northern indiana to visit my grandparents
