The diffusers help regulate the speed of the air for combustion purposes. When the plane is cruising at .80 mach let's say, It expands the air therefore slowing it down..
no the 717 is the Boeing designation for the MD90 a stretched and improved DC9 and the competitor for the 727, this 727 has hush kits installed to help it meet stage III noise compliance. See the open door in the main gear wheel well thats where the water tank for water injection used to be(it was very loud)
this is right before they took it apart and sent it somewhere else... we got in trouble for that lol we werent supposed to be there apparently and a lot of people are calling us stupid for doing that... but u know what.... i loved it lol it was worth it and people are enjoying seeing a 727 in detail like this so hey good came out of it :) enjoy
I don't see why anyone would call you stupid for doing that, I'd do it in a heartbeat lol, 727 is my favorite plane by far. I assume this was at the hamilton intl airport?
The 717 is basically a DC-9 - When Boeing took over McD back in the late 1990s, the DC-9 was renamed 717. The DC-9/717 are quite a bit smaller than the 727.
The DC-9 is absolutely NOT the 717. The DC-9 was the douglas variant originally made in the 60's. It evolved into the MD series when douglas became MD and the plane became the MD-8X series. The 717 is the MD-90 which was renamed when boeing bought MD....to speak with so much authority but know sooo very little...
no lie. i ride a Delta 727-200ADv and it was the best ride ive ever had in a plane. Better than them Md-88s.Id love to see a 727 with 3 GE F110-GE-192s with afterburners.
This is an All Canada Express plane. The airline went bankrupt in 2005 I think...

Wrong. The 717 is the designation for the MD95. The MD90 is the MD90.

Cool. If you go to the aviation museum nearby there is the front end of a fed-ex 727 you can walk around. You should walk around a 747 though!
