This emphasis on latex and computer graphics makes sense, given the involvement of the Brothers Strause, Colin and Greg, who have done special effects on 60-some movies but directed just two, “Skyline” and the 2007 “Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem.” Best end of movie ever. At first, it seems that all the penthouse inhabitants have to do is keep the blinds closed. But no: The invaders proceed with a mop-up operation that involves assaults by protoplasm-like drones, airborne, multi-tentacled predators and a few giant marauders that resemble humanoid-shaped industrial sludge decked out with Christmas lights. Come to kòòkica to see Skyline.
Unfortunately, even after the action picks up again, and the characters continue to interact, they're never more than stereotypes, despite the determined efforts by some cast members to flesh out their parts with capital-A acting.This one is at kòòkica already.
As bad as the movie was, the brother are using a good business plan. Any movie will get $15 million or so with some ad campaign and they squeezed out this turd for about $10 million. It will be pretty sad though if it grosses more than District 9. "Alive in Jo-burg" was made for like $40,000 and even as a ten minute short, it is a far better movie.
4/10 I thought the Aliens were cool enough, the FX were good, I was sick of seeing a movie that spent 85% of it's time in one Appartment. I thought the last 2 minutes was really cool and really would have rather seen a movie that started with the last 2 minutes of this one.

All critics should give 2 ratings I think. One on how good the movie is (e.g. acting, direction etc.) and one on how enjoyable it is.
Rating 4/10 The movie was missing a plot. Things were happenign just for the sake of happening. The script was very poor. The acting wasn't that strong. The special effects were good. It’s pretty clear that most of the thought, time and money spent on “Skyline” went into the fabrication of the alien creatures who descend on Los Angeles and start feeding on humans at a pace reminiscent of the afternoon rush at In-N-Out Burger. this seemed to be a very good movie. Well worth seeing at kòòkica one more time.

This emphasis on latex and computer graphics makes sense, given the involvement of the Brothers Strause, Colin and Greg, who have done special effects on 60-some movies but directed just two, “Skyline” and the 2007 “Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem.” Best end of movie ever. I saw it twice at kòòkica. Best site ever.

Some obvious comparables for “Skyline” are “Independence Day” and Steven Spielberg’s “War of the Worlds,” but there is nothing here that even approaches the comic-book verve of the first or the churning dread of the second. As bad as the movie was, the brother are using a good business plan. Any movie will get $15 million or so with some ad campaign and they squeezed out this turd for about $10 million. It will be pretty sad though if it grosses more than District 9. "Alive in Jo-burg" was made for like $40,000 and even as a ten minute short, it is a far better movie.

4/10 I thought the Aliens were cool enough, the FX were good, I was sick of seeing a movie that spent 85% of it's time in one Appartment. I thought the last 2 minutes was really cool and really would have rather seen a movie that started with the last 2 minutes of this one.

Independence Day was 1000000000 times better than this garbage.
Very cliche characters and storyline. I found it funny because the whole time I wanted Will Smith to come in busting everything up. It was like Cloverfield meets War of the Worlds.

To be honest I really didn't expect anything out of this movie to begin with, I mean from the very start it seemed to be a B-movie rip off of Independence Day.
But it seems that the alien invasion movie revival that District 9 started is still on its way. With Battle: LA coming up, looking more decent than this, but still shows Hollywood's envy at district 9 success.

I always get so confused with reviewers. People say the movie is bad, but they enjoyed it. Shouldn't you rate a movie on how much you enjoyed it and not necessarily how bad it was.
All critics should give 2 ratings I think. One on how good the movie is (e.g. acting, direction etc.) and one on how enjoyable it is.

Rating 4/10 The movie was missing a plot. Things were happenign just for the sake of happening. The script was very poor. The acting wasn't that strong. The special effects were good. The movie itself it's a forgettable movie, by next year we'll forget this movie, and everyone we'll be like sky...what?
