@demonoidify That is very simple actually... just go for am 18mm lens focal length in the camera settings and adjust from there. I also use the Vertical Lens Shift feature that the VRay Physical Camera has.
If you do not use VRay in 3dsmax then perhaps things will be a bit different, but the basic logic remains.
@bakbek I am using Vray, but still can't get the right look. Maybe if you could post a small video, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, in your video i see three boxes around your view and I'm not seeing that. I only have one around my model. I've look everywhere on the internet and no one seems to give a description on how to position the camera for a good shot, most just talk bout the actually camera settings after they positioned it.
@bakbek I'm still not getting it. If you could post a small video on position the camera as I've looked on the internet but couldn't find anything. Most site just talk bout the aperture size and other things but not the basics of camera positioning for the right shot and wide angle view. I did change my aspect ratio but doesnt seem to help much. Also how did you get the three boxes around your model, the yellow ,blue and orange. I only see one around mine. Thanks.
hai halo i wanna ask that SKETCHUP MAPPING model i merge in to 3ds then i use vray adv 2.0 render it become black out object even i push force 2side at common still not solve Master wat to do this problem tq .
Hi! I dont know if you r still around, but i encounter a problem in my efforts to do this: the environment is displayed as a sky in the viewport, but when I hit Render, the sky is implemented on the ground level, leaving the supposed "sky area" with a single color.. any ideas?!?!
@wisecollector Not sure I understand the problem. I suggest you either email me directly or open a forum thread on my forum so I and others can help you ;)
@bakbek try to flip the image on the settings of the vray hdri .... the single color that his getting is the color below the horizon line of the image
@bakbek i want to ask you something about your tutorial: in my render the shadows are not clear and sharp like in yours and i just cant understand the reason. i'm using the same map and working in linear workflow. are you using some particular method or another map maybe? i hope in your answer and help. thanks you again.
p.s. recently i discovered you blog and sincerely i think that its the one of the best in ambient of architectural visualization.
Hey. Great tutorial. But can you show how you set up camera position for wide angle architectural shots. Thanks
