@lukeisntgay Ringo was a great drummer. He's kind of a joke now as the "untalented" Beatle, but he actually had a gift for drumming. He and Keith Moon are like two sides of the drumming coin - Keith is spastic and makes great noise, Ringo keeps the beat steady while still managing to add a little bit of flair and style to it. There is no best drummer ever - there are two.

I think it's pretty amazing how fast people forget John Bohnam. But to be honest I'm not sure that Ringo is even the best drummer in his family with his son being quite good too.

Because many people claim he is the greatest rock drummer of all time, he is praised more than any other rock drummer besides Neil Peart. I would say John is the greatest rock drummer of all time.

It seems that many say that Ringo or Keith are such a great drummers because they are the only drummers they can name. A strong case can be made for Keith but less so Ringo. Also I think that younger drummers don't get thought about because they were never members of the Who, the Beatles or Led Zep.
