They did it was called Starseige 2845 i believe but it got canceled. But i do agree with you they need to give it another go the universe they created for Starseige was brilliant.

i install it once in a while. but ever since they shut the master server down, i rarely ever touch it. i'm sure its gathering dust, like my phantasy star online game (and it IS spelled phantasy. its by SEGA. mmorpg ftw xD)

hmmm... i remember searching for SS 2845 and found a wikipedia article saying vivendi is letting them make a freeware mulitplayer component and a campaign component for a price
