I love Gin more, 'cause Weed is such a softie! He can't even kill someone, who wants to kill his friends and himself! If Weed just killed Hougen, only Hougen would die, but he lets him go, and I'm pretty sure if he didn't get killed by the lightning, Hougen would kill many other animals. Gin can fight, and kill if it's needed. Gin could easily defeat Hougen, but that stupid softie wouldn't let him... Also, they made Gin really stupid in GDW... I love puppy Gin, he is strong and smart, John too!!

People say that Silver Fang was just as kind hearted as Weed, that is bullcrap. I recently watched all the episodes (the cut version though), and Gin is justice, a nice leader, but still... he aint by far as soft as Weed.

For example vs the canibal dogs (dont remember the name, they was rivals of akame/red eye), and Silver only let their leader live cuz he was a father (killed himself however :P).... Aswell... Silver goes around like: Cmon coward! Fight me! Dont you wanna fight?!

Though Weed is a bit too nice,Gins Father,Rikki,Helped kill Akakabuto.Hougen,On the other hand,was a bit worse for the wild dogs.Weed respected The dogs for who they were,Even if they killed 512 dogs.But..Weed will make a new gerneration and be just like Gin.Well,Thats what I think,But,I also like weed cause Usaly learns thing on his own,But i like Gin too. :)

@60134131 Silver Fang cant defeat Hougen, cuz he is not allowed to envolve in the fight. Silver himself promoted Weed to the new leader of Ohu, and then it had to be Weed who defeated Hougen... Non the less, Weed could not kill him, so Silver was about to do it, then Weed pushed Silver away, cuz Weed thought Hougen deserved to live... Kinda pathetic. Hougen died of a lightning struck anyways, Weed did not kill him.

Very interesting. I have never seen Weed, but I would really much like too. I have grown up with Silver Fang and I have always loved it. Watching this video I must say that I like the animation of Silver much more than Weed, as far as I can tell there are just not enough ditails!!!

Well GDW would've been a great anime if Studio DEEN didn't destroy it. I mean, they made the anime a complete rip-off of GNG: dangerous foe takes over Gajou, son goes to find males, son fights the main antagonist and is the new leader.

So of course the GDW manga is 2000x better. But GNG was both a great manga AND anime (they did change up some factors but I wouldn't say anything TOO drastic).

Gin was both a better anime/manga that doesn't get enough recognition as Weed does.

So I would favor Nagareboshi Gin over Densetsu Weed anyday, although both mangas are awesome. It's just unfortunate GDW had to be animated by lazy animators who couldn't draw a single dog in the series correctly if their life depended on it.

@TheDevilsLotus Well GNG has won prizes etc in Japan (best manga of the year). When GDW came to America it had good ratings (New York times critics etc). But then those critics watched GNG and they were like OMG and rated it better cause it had better storyline, stronger characters and it wasn't so "naive" as GDW. So I think GNG has get some recognition. Problem is most of those those kids in UK who blabber about Weed and they even don't know GNG cause it hasn't been published there.

Ginga Densetsu Weed's graphics and animation are much better. GNG kinda scared me because of the horrific amounts of blood and the fact the only female in GNG was only made to be pregnant. "Unrealistic" colors don't really bother me either, kids shouldn't care about colors and atanomy, lol.

GDW ruined GNG (Silver Fang) for me. Let's see why:

1.) New voiceactors. I know they can't all be the same, but still. :/

2.) GNG was animated by the guys who did Dragonball, so they knew their stuff. The people who did GDW didn't.

3.) GNG had a more alive feel to it.

4.) Gin, Akame and John kicked more ass.

5.) Riki was the best dog ever (and first leader), and he wasn't even mentioned in GDW!

All in all, GNG (Silver Fang) is better than GDW. Watch GNG, you won't be disappointed!

Also, WTF is with giving Gin BLUE eyes in GDW?! You think they'd keep his EYES of all things the same color, but no! They had to make him look like Weed. Which means they made Gin have a more crappy blueish color than his regular silver and blue eyes. (Because 80% of main characters have blue eyes. -_-)

Yeah, your totally right! i had the stupid idea of watching GDW first and now i just started watching GNG and i was confused with the fact that gin had brown eyes and his fur was silver, not blue! Besides, john´s appearance also changed alot and wtf with Weed being sooo blue, i heard he was also a silver tora ge but he is way too blue and his eyes are too big! in my opinion the animations are much better in GNG, just look at Weed at 2:03, it doesnt even look like a dog -_-"
