Or just appreciate the fact that balloon rubber is pearmeable, so helium slowly leaks out, meaning that it will slowly come down anyway.

I just saw the Berlin Balloon Project film, they incorporated the film off the flying camera. My question to such a stunt, do you need to contact the FAA or the airport and let them know what your doing? Did you get arrested or investigated by NASA of the FAA for not filing a flight plan?

Idea:::: put a note on the camera somewhere having your name and address, tie it down. when the balloons fall, and when you lost the balloons, the founder of the balloons could be nice enough to mail it back to the address you put on the note.

How long did the balloons stay up? I remember that week in September. It was my birthday on the 12th...and it lasted to a beautiful sunny week. It's great how SF geography helps...its easy to spot the different spots where the balloon could be like Castro, the Mission, Cole Valley, Fillmore etc.
