Practice does not make perfect, It's what you practice. If you practice record copying that's what you'll get good at, if you practice scales that's what you'll get good at. Practice should be balanced, scales, Chords, ( jazz or rock) sightreading, technic, style of music you prefer like jazz, rock, r&b, blues etc. arpeggio's, intoductions, endings etc. Don't practice just one thing all day !!!.

Dude, You are useing the wrong

chords the song is played with a E dominant 9 , not a E sharp 9, Moreover you missed a change. Which should be played useing a G dominant 9. Moreover, you need to slow down on your solo and not play fast and sloppy. When you solo, licks should be used when you can't think of nothing else. You are useing the minor pentatonic as a base. Try useing the arpeggio and the E natural minor scale and Mixolydian in different positions (including the G Major).
