  • This is the first movement from Bach's Violin/Keyboard Concerto in D Major, BWV 1054.

  • @daytonmlivingston E Major

  • @PVFlash No, this concerto is in D major, you must just have a transcribed version with a key change.

  • Is that a Deering or Gibson?

  • @jazz31162

It's a Huber Roanoke, with a radius fingerboard.

  • I like to see somebody play the cadenza from Brandenburg concerto No. 5.

  • Hi headless banjo player !

    Nice playing ;)

If i remove my head, can i play banjo like you ?

  • @Pipotron3000

    You can try........

  • I love how people are so busy being serious that they keep commenting re: this not being a recently discovered Bach composition *laughs*. Hats off to both the headless banjo dude and his sense of humor. :D

  • @mistydawnx

    Thanks!

  • I don't think three finger style was even developed by the baroque era. Haha!

  • Wow

  • Great.

  • so naehert sich. alles.

  • great ., can you comment my vids???

  • That sounds better than the harpsichord and easier to carry around. Excellent!

  • I don't think the banjo existed in bach's time, lol.

There probobaly were simliar instruments in africa though.

  • It's a little known fact that it was the instrument of choice of some of the very first pizza deliverymen.

  • hmm, I looked it up and it was arround in his time.

It sure sounds good, it's got a fast attack that gives it a harpsichord-like quality.

  • Bach is clearly GOD therefore, he predicted the future perfectly and composed his music in a way that allowed to be played by any worthwhile future instruments.

  • Awesome. I hope they find the lost manuscript of the Double Banjo Concerto one of these days.

  • I don't see a peg head on the banjo either, so it can probably only be played by a headless musician.

Very nice performance. This is the kind of thing that makes me want to pick up a banjo and try to learn again.

  • The banjo has a head. It's a Huber Roanoke model, with a radius fingerboard.

Be careful picking up the banjo. It's very heavy!

  • @Hikikomori013 banjo player is only limited by the length of his arm

  • this is not a "recently discovered Bach composition". Unless you are referring to the fact that it has recently been discovered by YOU :)

Great performance. I love the sound of the banjo and you are clearly a skilled player!

  • Where's your sense of humor? ;-)

  • Sweet, Makes me want to learn how to play banjo.

  • 2nd'd

  • awesome!!! you made the voices come out which is really hard in Bach's music... great job!!! hop you can polish it more. keep it up

  • do you have the tablature to this piece anyone?

  • I never wrote it down in tab. It was hard enough figuring it out, and playing it. The thought of writing the tab is daunting.

  • thats too bad id love to learn how to play this

  • Beautiful, just beautiful.

  • Hey,

    That was just great!

  • nicely done. i think the banjo was made for Bach. I learned Jesu a couple of years ago and it remains my single favorite song on the banjo and I probably know 50 tunes. It's a bit of a shame you have so many views because it would be great to get this remade with your left hand showing.

  • Nice, Jerry! Would like to have seen more of the left hand, but maybe you're trying to keep a secret :).
