I have 2 of these in my tank and for some reason I got them together but one doubled the size of the other and now the smaller one has to sleep in my castle cause the bigger one tries to kill him constantly

mine looks just like that if its a baby thats what i have it has nice color and it kills anything in its path.but my dad use to have all kinds of cichlids but for some reason the red devil always was the king of the tank. but i told him if he though a red devil the same size as mine that it would beat mine up i told him no way.

aggressive indeed...mine killed all of my other fish....i grew him up since he was an inch to now 10 inches. he is 4 yrs old i gotta buy him a bigger tank...nice color on that one....

Breathing heavily doesn't mean he's lacking oxygen. It could mean that he just swam around a lot and is "panting".
