first off, the neilsen part is only half of it. isles had parise in a pre draft thing cause his father wanted him to be an islander....milbury said he was too small to ever be a pro hockey player....obviously true since he only has wat almost 50 goals this season? honestly though, i wouldnt be completely dissapointed if they drafted headmen casue they need defense and they have comeau, bailey, okposo. we'll see wat pick they get.

In power sport like hockey limit strength is important as shown in the empty net goal he scored on 12/31/08 against the U.S. when he held the player off with 1 hand from the blue line in. Tavares does plyometrics (2x/wk), sprint training (2x/wk), explosive upper body movements during the offseason. His vertical jump is above average as measured by NHL entry draft testing and he is a truly outstanding athlete in multiple sports.

I think that Tavares' best comparison is Heatley. They are both snipers, and it was said that both of their skating ablilities arnt the best. But tavares wont have the speed of stamkos or the hand of gagner, but he will be right there along side them in both catagories.

How could you call any of those goals garbage goals? Most of the goals were great shots, and even if they were garbage goals, they still count. And I don't get why everyone seems to think they need to either be a fan of Crosby or Ovechkin or Tavares and think the other two suck. Firstly Mario Lemieux came to a team that was almost as brutal as the 1991-92 Ottawa Senators, he was playing with nobodys for most of his early years and still scored seconds into his first NHL shift! Crosby is on a good team, he didn't single handedly take the Pens to the Finals, and he doesn't have the skill to take control of the game like Mario or Gretzky did.
