there is a certain lines that must not be crossed at shows like this. because people you are "trying" to make fun off are right in front of you. and you don't know what people are very sensitive to. and an issue of surname can lead to a whole lot issues like race, religion, and caste...which even hollywood stays away from...so unless this was all staged the khans are idiots for even bringing it up (even though it looks like it was inadvertent)

First of all it looks spontaneous & Genuine reaction by Neil. I think when SRK and Saif throw this very uneasy question to Neil they thought this shy guy will not answer and we can make fun of him but suddenly they realized that its going wrong & this guy Neil can stand up(we can see the reactions of many actors while Neil was speaking). So to save their faces both Khans made a story afterwards that it was all staged & Neil obviously want to close the tension by giving affirmation to this !!
