Both the video and the song are priceless and awesome, in my opinion.

The video, to me is like something that came out of a HP Lovecraft series, mixed with the concept of growing from a teenager to adulthood, and face the changes that came with it.

@kiltrofilms it's relating to adolescence. At least, imo. The girl is growing up. Goes to a pool, two people make out, engage in sexual intercourse. Have you ever seen two people have sex for real? It can look ugly and visceral, almost inhuman. The third guy probably got wrapped up in the threesome or something. The mirror world where her eyes exploded may have been the death of her innocence or something. The weird pool boner was her arousal. Elder God was manifestation of sex maybe.

Secluded and isolated, at least in her own mind. She doesn't want to lose her innocence. How you would somehow think this negates the legitimacy of my interpretation, though, is beyond me. Perhaps if there were a rule that said once an artist references something in their work then they may no longer have independent symbolic meaning in it, you'd have a point.

However, as to why the video accentuates the female's sexuality more: diversion and comparison. It presents you with something sensual in a fairly conventional manner to make you feel comfortable (thus amplifying the shock later on), and it's juxtaposing the one girl's promiscuity with the other's innocence.
