first off everyone is entitled to thier epinion but this was a terrible demo. Your clean demo was done on a cheap axe with shitty ceramic magnets in it second the overdrive has so much versatility it can pretty much do anything fiddling with the gain knob aswell the boost like all booosts are ment to helop your SOLOS cut through i doubt anyoone could relly tell that much of a difference when u boosted 2 chords, so fix all this and maybe cut out that douchie "COATED METAL GRILL", then i approve

This sounds very crappy and solid state. If you're into metal, but don't want to spend a fortune on a high end Peavey or Mesa amp, a hybrid amplifier from Vox's Valvetronix "XL" line is probably as close as you could get. The "XL" series features an ultra high-gain valve pre-amplifier, which is designed for metal and has an incredibly good sound for it's price. Vox is not really famous for their high gain amplifiers, but they're actually quite good. Far better than a Roland Cube for metal.

NO small solid state will get you there. It's all bullshit. They sell because of beginners who have to get something, get their first guitar, and think *this* is tone. For a year or so (if you play alot), or.. wel.. 5 years or even more, you'll be satisfied with any of these shits. But you will end up hating your tiny transistor toy.

I guess it's happened to alot of people, no shame in it.

And the good reviews you see are either:

1) marketing BS

2) kids "OMG AWESOME D000D!! get it!"

These Randalls have a tendency to have a very thick sound...i played on the V2 at a Sam Ash and it had an incredible amount of bass no matter how a altered the EQ...it was kinda overbearing...but that's just me...
