@andrewkesler , wow dude! I think digital is the new way to record. A lot of people (and even myself) have been able to get some really good tones out guitar rig and amprig and axefx and Line6 pods. Playing those live sounds like crap but in the studio it really feels like the way to go because there are so many options.

Once I get my music degree next year we'll see what happens, and I will continue to produce covers as well as some originals in the future. These videos for me are fun projects, and it's nice to get some exposure.

@WhitetailWillie Thanks! Well read the descriptions for a summary of the programs and stuff like this. As far as actually recording it, I picked the tempo and just started recording rhythm guitars and bass to the click. Then I turned the click off and recorded drums (weirdly enough it was easier to groove to just the guitars without a click). From then on i just added more instruments. I'd listen to the original a bunch to pick out a certain part, work it out, and then record a few takes of it.
