I pass through all those landmarks and areas everytime I go to new denver to stay with my grandma, awesome place, love the like, excellent little town.
What's the wonderful music that's played in the background? Is it San Sebastian's mellow, Final Beat? The artist's MySpace site doesn't seem to feature the music. Is there anywhere I can download it?
I just found your video. I was just in new denver yesterday for the Garlic Festival,,,5000 people, candles, food music,,massage, stained glass, jewelry,,,well you get the picture. It was great. My friend kris and i took out mbira's into the Japanese garden , south end of town, and played music by the lake. I live in the slocan valley a mile south of the tipi poles on the back road. Cheers
haha Im from new denver and that cell phone comment is too funny...its a big deal here. my phone hasnt been turned on for almost a month now since Ive been back... except I take it with me to nakusp so I can catch up on texts haha.
I am a Mountie who was posted in Grand Forks/Christina Lake this summer (07) & just transferred to New Denver as the guy in charge. Both are nice communities. It's nice to be a part of it all. Let's see how long before someone in New Denver reads this and says "Hey you carry a cellphone...what gives?" I will answer "It tells exact time and still works when I drive 45 minutes in any direction. Looking forward to mtn biking, w/w kayaking & skiing next summer.
Oh that was just beautiful. It looked so isolated though. I'll try to see if McDonald's and some cell phone companies want to set up shop there. New Denver, Slocan lake, etc. Maybe a nuclear waste facility...
Did you know that 49 creek was named after the gold rush of 1849??? I panned for gold in that creek when i was a kid! There's also good fishing in that creek.
Rover creek to. Your videos of Nelson, and area bring back memories...
No, I didn't know that. That's interesting. Did you find any gold? The area I grew up in was famous for mining too (the Coromandel, New Zealand) and we used to pan for gold using woks ... it was fun. We usually saw a few flakes of gold.
No, i never did find gold but i knew others that did. I had better luck fishing though...over the years. If i had a wok i could have made i nice trout stir-fry. :) hmmmmm
Listen Sarah!!!! This movie was about a Girl who first robbed a bank than she robbed this small store than we can see that she is a Gypsy because of the tents, than she robs all the shops around town even she robs the cemetery, and she hitch hikes just to deceive the cop who's on the road in the opening 10 15 seconds.
Wow, this was a great road movie :D Great montage as said before here. Is it fun to Hitchhike? All you here is that you shouldn't cause you never know etc... but still, it can be really fun also I think. The Canadian I have met was really nice.
It's so much fun! In fact, it has been one of the highlights of being in Canada. Everyone who has picked us up has been so nice and we wouldn't have met them otherwise. It's not like you can walk up to someone in the street and say, "Hi, let's have a conversation. And can I come and hang out at your house too?"
But stick your thumb out on the side of the road ... and amazing things happen. Of course, there is a small risk that something bad could happen - but I'm willing to take that risk.
Hi Eri! No, hitching is free :) I think conversation is kind of the payment so you just need to try and make interesting conversation and be a nice passenger.
Funny how you picture the school bus in the intro and you bumped into them again in this one...What is it that you like so much about yellow school buses Sarah? Do you have school buses in NZ? Regards and wish you a nice week!
That's an interesting question. I think it's because this is the first time I've been to North America (or any part of America actually), but I've seen many images of North America through movies and TV. I figure some of the stuff in Hollywood movies is an accurate reflection of North American life ... and some isn't. It's hard to figure which is which, so I end up thinking it's all just Hollywood.
Lol at 3:37 I know the person in that truck.

You are so lucky, I loved New Denver. Swimming in that lake was one of the highlights of my 6 months in Canada.
