  • cactus is the planes callsign the flight number is 1549 so every one who is saying its 1549 actually you dont contact the plane by saying 1549 i know this because im studying air law and ground comunications at my local airport

  • @aolambrose He had it correct, it was exactly the same as how the ATC said it and also how the pilots said it.

  • The ATC sounded like he was almost in tears when he couldn't get a response. What a calm pilot. Horrible thing to happen to anybody.

  • Departure should of got the point when he said where going into the Hudson, then they lost radar contact.

  • I think the controller was in denial. Having an aircraft going down on your watch, even if you couldn't do anything about it, is traumatic to say the least.

  • Awesome work by the controller. Works the emergency and the rest of the airplanes around the sector with few hiccups. Good stuff.

  • The captain is the coolest guy ever. In all probablity, everyone was slated to die. This guy is cool cool cool and lands the plane smoothly.
