cactus is the planes callsign the flight number is 1549 so every one who is saying its 1549 actually you dont contact the plane by saying 1549 i know this because im studying air law and ground comunications at my local airport
I think the controller was in denial. Having an aircraft going down on your watch, even if you couldn't do anything about it, is traumatic to say the least.

@aolambrose He had it correct, it was exactly the same as how the ATC said it and also how the pilots said it.

The ATC sounded like he was almost in tears when he couldn't get a response. What a calm pilot. Horrible thing to happen to anybody.

It is interesting to listen to the pilot, who remained very "calm" ad polite in that troublesome situation

to prevent this, i believe every commercial aircraft should have ge90-115 engines lol.
zazimasouck 2 years ago
lol..Imagine a 737 with 2 ge90s! a single ge90 could even power a 747!

Awesome work by the controller. Works the emergency and the rest of the airplanes around the sector with few hiccups. Good stuff.

The captain is the coolest guy ever. In all probablity, everyone was slated to die. This guy is cool cool cool and lands the plane smoothly.

If the birds took out his engines, they're most likely splatter in the engines.
