  • wow! perfect! There are no words to describe ! Thanks for 2:22 min of perfection in music !

Who is this young musician ?

  • Comment removed

  • nice

  • Very nice!!!

  • WWooow congratulations,,,,the tempo is perfect, not to slow and not to fast. It's a great Bach's compositions, so "hemels" we should say it in dutch.

greetings from a Dutch Colombian guy.

  • Love this song!

    You play it very well!

    How old/young are you?

It's if i see my son playing, you look like him!

I play organ myself in Almere, Holland

  • Well done.

  • Lovely organ! I hope I had one of my own to practice on!

  • What a fine performance. You are indeed a very gifted yong man. Please keep up the good work!

  • very good, you play fast but very regular. then its sound slow

is it mysterius? no its your musicality

  • Cool

  • I think everything is good with legato here. I do not see any reason to change your legato. May be a tiny bit of "non legato", but it is inconsiderable and does not influence upon the whole picture. Temp is perfect.

  • Bravo! You are a true musician.

Continue to play it legato, because the melody is in the choral and it would be un-natural to play it non-legato. Besides, non-legato is only an expressive mean which takes into consideration the instrument (it's not an harpsichord's touch), its abilities (the organ-registers differentiate the melody from its accomp.) and the outer environment (a room. No need to consider the echo-difference in a church-hall).

  • What's all this about legato?

Bach wrote the left hand with sixteenth notes grouped in 4s with legato marks.

The only important thing about the right hand is that it announces the melody and that ornaments don't get in the way (which is fine hee).

I agree about the pedal, but for absolute perfection, listen to Ton Koopman 1989.

  • @1401JSC Bowing, rather than phrasing

  • Love your playing! Tempo is perfect for the instrument you're playing, registration is fine, pedal is fabulous, but I agree that you should play the melody a little more "non legato" - especially on the upbeats. Keep it up, young man!

  • I love this piece, I played it for my first college musical recital, it brings back so many memories. Keep up the good work, I see a future maestro in the making.

  • You are a talanted young performer!

Great! Go on, and the Lord will bless you!

    Best wishes from Russia.

  • Bravo, excellente interpretation ! Quel âge as tu ?

  • This version is the best. I love the tempo, other versions are to slow. You are really good!

  • It´s nice to see and hear an ambitious young man with so many talents.

Never stop doing that! Go on in your young life!

  • Excellent man! This song is so good.

  • I really enjoyed it. But I hope you will not be angry if I tip you some advice:

Your pedal is great, so ar your trillers, but a little more NON LEGATO in both hand. But it is very nice to listen, and the choice of stops is very appropriate! Good work!

  • very lovely! :) one of the best pieces by Bach and one of the best performances by such a young guy :)

  • Wonderful!!! You are grat!

    by Italian friend

  • Good work.

  • Sorprende que sea un organista tan joven y logre tocar a Bach como lo hace

  • the sound well balanced between pedals and manuals

good job. perfect tempo, Bach does not need extra pauses like most people ad.

  • One of my favourite Bach pieces too, I am just a listener not a performer but I think you did it well!

  • well done, it's not a easy peace to play. Your young, do something with your talents, goodluck.

  • How lovely. I must hear some more. thankyou.

  • Hi,

Very much enjoyed your mature playing! Especially your pedal-work shows you to be quite advanced. Look forward to hear more postings from you. Perhaps we can see/hear you play on a pipe organ one day.

  • you are wonderful on the organ.

  • fantástico

  • o my god how old are you you are brill

  • Hey you,you are great,good job!

  • how old are you?

    you are very good

  • Do you think you could play BWV 614 for me? There seems to be only one person with a video of that on youtube. You play so well, I'd love to see your version.

  • Wonderful. This and BWV 614 always have a magical effect on me.

  • охуено. аж муражки идут ещё с соляриса

  • Those of you wanting to hear a unique "perspective" on this piece may want to try "The Sea Named Solaris" by Isao Tomita (which is also available on the soundtrack to the PBS series "Cosmos."

  • very good, I played also... much people say to me: what a great peace, can you play it also next time.

  • Great and exactly the right tempo for this composition cause some perform it far too slowly (around 4min) what makes it... a kind of stooodgy... :-

  • oh my god!! you play the organ very good!! i also play the organ and i know that it's difficult (i think hehe) ;)

  • And I've just watched this one: very good!

  • Please note, that this piece is used in the Russian movie Solaris, not the american.

  • and see if you can find recordings of the late Albert Schweitzer...

  • Hope you are going to work on the whole of the orgelbuchlein...

  • Bravo.

  • wonderful .. pls send me this file i will be happy to have it ... thanks a lot

    jesus is my life

  • Wow, I think that was lovely, maybe a little more feeling needed to it, but what a super job you made of it. Keep it up, your'e still young!

  • Thanks for all the comments!!!!

In my recording of Gelobet zu, Jesu Christ I have posted some info on the organ.

I have not seen the film "Solaris" but I will try to soon.

  • Thanks to Andrei Tarkovsky and his miraculous film, Solaris, this gem has received the attention that it deserves. And you play it so wonderfully. Thank you Bach, thank you Tarkovsky, and thank YOU.

  • Excellent !! Keep working kid

  • Have I asked this yet? What type of organ is this.. model number, brand, etc.. Excellent playing!

  • A few technical slips (eg. trills not quite perfected, feet too far forward on 'black' pedal notes, and hands more in piano position than organ position) but overall a good performance, particularly considering the age of the organist! Here's wishing you every success in organ playing!

  • what a wonderful play, thank you... I *love* that chorale.

It's also the music chosen by Tarkovski for "Solaris" (1972).

  • Well Done! I only wish I would have started organ when I was this young... of course it would have helped to have a digital organ... Keep it up and thank so much for sharing with us.

  • I know a talent if I hear one! You are :O)

  • A little too mechanic...but you are young

  • very well done, bravo to you

  • Thank You!

  • Any organist that can tackle any of Bach's works and to it well is a good organist. Great Job! Keep it up.

  • I think the trill is just at the right speed; anything slower would seem a little laboured I think. Some good phrasing between sections of the piece, too. Excellent.

  • Nice job Ian. A little more emotion wouldn't hurt, but then, what do I know.

  • This is my most loved choral prelude next to "Erbarm Dich, Mein O herr Gott" I think you did an out standing job. By the way I see professional organists looking at thier feet. Its ok...its not the end of the world to peak! lol

  • Wow! How old are you? Great job!

  • Nice touch.

  • ok maybe professional organists don't. I can't.

  • its ur best vid on utube i think. lol but y only 2 stars ppl? i guess they dnt like organs lol. also y u lukin at ur feet? didnt u say organists dnt luk at their feet?lol

  • I quite enjoyed your performance. Registration effective and some well placed starts to the phrases. I personally prefer a slower approach to the trill but overall, quite stylish.
