Well logically, if the top of the building was collapsing down on the bottom and there was severe damage to a section of the building, the remaining weight smashing into the seperate floors of the building would create a domino effect. I'm no engineer though, but it seems thats what would happen.

From what I understand, the Twin Towers required additional damage at specific points of the frame. No one knows what these "additional damages" were caused by, but that's where speculation of it being an inside job comes in.

In addition the floors kept regidity in the structure and taking the example of two rules of different length. the longer rules bends easier. thinking of that ruler as the WTC shell as floors collapsed the distance between structurally sound floors reduced giving more flex until it eventually gave way. This is what would have happened at WTC 1 & 2 on 9/11. The top floors above the plane impacts would have dropped a story or two and then --toppled off-- of the superstructure of the remaining 90 or so stories of STEEL. And that is if all of the 40+ support beams in the central column SIMULTANEOUSLY failed.

The symmetrical collapse of a steel structure at free-fall speed is IMPOSSIBLE unless IMPLOSION DEMOLITION is utilized.

As an engineer. The WTC didnt have beams it had steel trusses which are very vulnerable to fire damage. They also give little warning of failure which is why firefighters do not like trusses being used in buildings.
