I liked this report, and the reporter, and she makes some clear observations about the coal industry in WV. I grew up on Coal River, am educated, and I have observed the rape of the land throughout my lifetime. WV will probably go to McCain for various reasons, primarily race and religion. I applaud Obama for his stance on surface mining. Just want to add here that "clean coal" is a myth.

I liked this report, and the reporter, and she makes some clear observations about the coal industry in WV. I grew up on Coal River, am educated, and I have observed the rape of the land throughout my lifetime. WV will probably go to McCain for various reasons, primarily race and religion. I applaud Obama for his stance on surface mining. Just want to add here that "clean coal" is a myth.

My family has a cabin in West Virginia and we used to go there from Florida for the summer. I would find it extremely hard pressed to see the state vote for Obama. The people there are highly prone to the McCain type smear attacks and fear spreading. I seem to have inadvertently given you the wrong impression. I do not support Barack Obama. I will not be voting for him. I have no doubt that he has told lies, after all, he IS a presidential candidate for one of the two largest political parties in America.
Portions of socialism CAN work, as in Canada with their healthcare system.
Getting back on topic though, the last time I checked, Obama (and I think McCain as well) wanted to offer tax rebates to companies that brought jobs to America.

Uneducated whites are most likely to be racists and hold on to negative stereotypes regarding blacks because of their personal experiences with local blacks, lack of self worth, and media bias.
1. The local blacks are usually just as uneducated and uncultured as they are.
2. They have a strong need to feel superior to minorities because they themselves are looked down on by mainstream America.
3. Negative, more so than postive images of blacks are constantly reinforced by the media.
