  • how the FUCK is this a lesson?

  • 1992 the year I was born :D

  • SLASH IS BEAST!!

  • Can you believe this guy wasn't even on Rolling Stone's "Top 100 Guitarist"?!

  • @ChristoferrNerd rolling stones magazine sux...

  • you know

he was playing guitar whille I was borning in 1992

  • I don't get it, what was the guitar lesson in this clipp?? :S

  • does anyone know the scale that he is playing?

  • awesome fucking awesome !!! have someone tabs for this shit ?:D plz wisp me

  • The only thing good about Slash is his tone.

  • @JimmyRichardsGuitar just curious if u don't like slash why did u come to this video?

  • Curious as to what kind of lesson he could give. Just like I thought, it wasn't a lesson.

  • SLASH SLASH SLASH !!!

  • io le gano i eso que tok qon unamano HAHAHA YA QUISIERAS xd

  • Wow. Pretty good. I would of never though of doing that hammer and pull of on the high E. And that harmonic.....genius.

  • yep, ill go play that right now

  • thanks for that lesson. i learned a lot. Think I'll start using those riffs today

  • LMAO. Your comment was classic!

  • so se for ah punheta

  • looool

  • @SatanSlav3

    ahahahahha xD

  • yo si le daba =D jaja

  • how the fk is that a lesson? its just slash showing off again note he does have lots of talent to show off but still!

  • it is to a lesson because you just got schooled lmao

  • lame

  • hahahahaha

  • Slashs solos are ment to blow the mind....and this one makes no difference!

But...I dont see how this is a lesson, also the quality could be a little better.

  • lol

  • its a lesson showing all of us that we cant play that good

    Slash is GOD!!!!!!!

  • Check out Rory Gallagher- very under rated.

  • That ain't a fucking lesson..

  • favorite guitarists = slash-guns n roses, eddie van halen-van halen, phil collin- def leppard, mathias jabs- scorpions, and kk downing-judas priest

    long live rock and roll!!!

  • or all the guys that think that slash is not the greatest guitarrist of all time, he is probably not, but you should count how he composes, he may not fast as malmsten or technical as satriani but he has awesome composition skills and he plays awesome too now on the improvising think i want to see these other guys improvisin a new melody each time they play, dude come on they are just humans.

  • ahahahahahahahah it's izzy that compose...

  • Fuck off the bottom, will give your ass son of a bitch gay

  • I still think he's one of the greatest guitarists.. maybe not the best (even slash himself, admitted it), but he is up there in my opinion. He is a musician not just from his guitar skillz but from the notes he finds..

  • JImihendrix then Clapton Meyer Slash

  • No offense to anyone... but john meyer kind of blows. hes a shitty remake of eric clapton.

  • if slash isnt great than why is he a legend just as jimi and clapton

  • hah. he might not be the most technical player. ofc he's good but it's just that. he's got his presence, his style and he plays really good music. doesnt have to be THAT advanced. he's deff one of the best at what he does;) so were hendrix and clapton

  • Well, technically there are so many others that surpass Eric, Jimi, or Slash. But Eric, Jimi and Slash they made it for a reason, ya know, each of them has something great about their play. None of them ever sucks. For Slash I love his beautiful phrasing and highly characteristic tone, you can tell right away when you listen this must be Slash. Ok? He is great.

  • Amazing technique...yes!

But being a good guitarist is more than just good technique and plauing fast...

...it is also whats in your mind, and what you can create!

As a "lesson", you should show some of his really good stuff...the amazing legendary riffs he has created etc. etc....instead of just quick dalalalalalala...

Most people can be trained to do that!

Slash is a great guitarist...show his "real" skils instead of this!

  • how is this a lesson

  • cause anyone who thinks they are good at guitar, just got schooled when they watch this.

  • o haha gotcha

  • lol so very true who put ur coment bad?

  • You gotta be a fast learner to learn all that. :D

  • Is that the twin towers in the background?

  • omg

  • Isn't it obvious? the lesson is play what you feel just listen to what he say at the end

  • he was on TLC the tv channel?

  • he's teaching a lesson alright he schooling u bijthe-wo-man

  • suppose to be lesson bitch!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1 word.. badass. w8 thats not ebough

  • ohhhhh yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh!!!!!

  • is it just me or does he just most use the blues scale??

    any others anyone picked up?

maybe chromatic at times to create tension??

  • he does plays on a blues scale, all his songs are blues-based hard rock :)

  • sweeeet sweeet guitaring.....great slash!

  • Hide that comment Penance1707,Thats your opinion and your entitled to it, but that doesnt mean we care. and doesnt mean it isnt screwed up.

  • WOWH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • want to see slash at his best, type in "carole king locomotion".he is amazing on that video

  • THERE IS NO LESSON

basiclly hes saying there is NEVER try to play because us bitches cant keep up

    :D:D

  • howz dat a lesson??

    :S

  • yeah, i dont see how this is a lesson eather

just another amazing solo, thats all =P

  • cuz he schools ya na J/K i agree

  • Cause its like he's showin u up. He's showin how u shred it up slash's way.

But still ya, he aint teachen us anythin

  • oh my god.

  • It´s fuckin´ cold compared to Slash -HE plays from the heart!

  • it´s fuckin´ cold compared to Slash -HE plays from the heart!

  • Damn!!! This makes me feel like the worst fuckin guitarist ever

  • I feel like that too.

  • nope, this stuff is actually very very easy to do...anyone can play what he plays here after like an year of guitar...if you really want to feel like the worst guitarist ever then go watch some steve vai or joe satriani or eric johnson etc etc ...there are so many guitarists better then slash from both the technical and creative point of view...

  • I agree with you on the techical point... but on creative side they dont pass slash!

  • well everyone has their own taste in music, but composing a 5-7 minute piece like let's say tender surrender or crying machine or surfing with the alien (watch them on youtube)is much harder then coming up with the verse riff, the chorus riff and the solo :P

  • @bluesbunny121

wtf man if you dont like slash stop commenting on a video of him improvising

    and watching his videos

  • @bluesbunny121

and btw im a good fan of steve vai and paul gilbert and i simply prefer slash because he can be simple and good, and if he wanted to he would learn how to sweep pick, string skip and stuff like that, but he doesnt like it and he does what he likes, i myself prefer to learn how to sweep pick and string skip just to know how to, but im not gonna use it very often xD

  • and again, everyone has his taste in music but this little improvisation doesn't come nowhere near to what steve vai and satriani improvise over little wing and rockin' in the free world during the G3 concert in Denver from both the technical and sonic point of view :P

  • Oh boy, your talking so much shit, really, creative point ,lol...Slash was a revolution in things guitar,he´s the mutherfucking best,no clue these ppl. ...

  • man I am not saying he didn't make good music but revolution ? lol...using power chords for riffs (done first by tony iommi) and doing bluesy-rock solos like jimmy page did first anyway, is anything but a revolution. GnR as a group were influential because with them came the end of the hair-glam-rock trend, but slash as an iconic guitarist ...please...how many guitarists were influenced by him ? close to none.

  • and now think about how many young guitarists are influenced by steve vai or satriani or even yngwie malmsteen? well just watch the best guitarists on youtube and u will see...just to name a few:gustavo guerra, cesar huesca, mattrach wich are all at pro level by now. And do you want to know why slash doesn't influence guitarists? Because he lacks complexity, he lacks technique and everything that he has done has already been done before, maybe just a little different...

  • Saying he has talent and made good music is one thing and it's actually true. But saying he is "the best" and that he was a revolution like Eddie Van Halen or Vai/Satriani or Jimmy Hendrix is just stupid and shows how much you know about guitar players overall. And the proof is right up here in this video you praise so much...it's just an overall mediocre improvisation made up of overused cheesy licks...it's not saying anything, it's not going anywhere, it's just mediocre and dull

  • slash pwns shut ur fucking mouth

  • slash pwns shut ur fucking mouth

  • Did it take you long to come up with that ? I mean you already came up with such a great nick for yourself, don't think to hard man, you might strain your neuron.

And just for the record, for anyone that feels like making intelligent comments like this one, I already said Slash is a good guitarist and that he has talent and made good music. He is just not a legend, or a revolution, or "god"...

  • k ur a douche slash is a god not because of his speed but he definetly had originality to him. all of his solos sound perfect with the song and u can tell he puts soul into his music rather than just playin as fast as he can like so many of the shredders. and by the way i love malmsteen and all those guys and have definitly been influenced byu them but slash and those guys cant even be compared because of how different their individual styles are and the uniqe sound and technique that they have

  • it sooooo is a lesson, teaching you that youll never play like slash

  • Slash is a legend!!!

  • ahh yeah FRIGGIN AWESOME

  • this is no lesson

  • slash y u not my dadda

  • this isnt a lesson......

  • man the hands of a god rest on that guitar slash is emence dont diss him

  • this guitar lesson tought me... i gotta practice more :)

i suck compared to him :P

  • o rly u suck compared him??

  • hahahah

  • everyone does lol hes a legend lol

  • Yesh he is AWESOME

  • hhhacdc challenging urself with some of other guitarist licks isnt being a poser fuck so stfu and stop being a dumbass -.-

  • Wheres The Top Hat?

  • this might have been after london when he got it totally wrecked by torrential rain and had to do without for a tour.

  • indeed it just doesnt like quite right

then after slash has to be kirk hammett(and if any twat who likes metal out there who doesent know who he is, hes the lead giutarst out of metallica)

  • what happened to slash after G&R broke up?

  • He's in Velvet Revolver now buddy

  • i agree with on both

  • no wonder why he soloed all the time he rocks!

  • LO MAS GRANDE SLASH

  • yes boys and girls I hoped you all learned a lot from this very informing and helpful lesson

  • yeah that I suck and probably always will

  • and to think that was all improv.... the crowd must have been stunned, crazy good soloist that Slash is

  • help meeeeeeeeeee i cant find any good slash lessons

  • how was this a guitar lesson, although, i didnt mind watching my idol play

  • ok you can not say that a gibson sg is anywhere near the standards of slashs custom les paul thats swearing lol and he is a god wiv brian may and jimi hendrix

  • i love slash...he rocks

  • the les paul isnt the best out there... my buddehs dad has a 1972 gibson SG mint condition... if u play it you will cream your jeans... he tweaked it right out... its amazing...

  • but you have to admit the les paul is nice!!

  • es una porqueri

  • ahhhhhh the perfect guitar for slash

1.its a les paul which is the best out there

    2. the gold top finish was paint design that les paul had on his own personal les paul and it matches his beyond gold value guitar skills

    3. its the only guitar that can handle his monsterouse skill

  • Cliff Burton wrote master of puppets...

  • I think Kirk is the greatest!

  • ANGUS YOUNG OWNS ALL AND SO DOES SLASH

  • I AGREE A LOT \m/

  • yea right...if mustain could write a song like MOP(which is one of the best thrash metal songs), why cant his band compete with metallica?why cant he write some more of that stuff again?oh lets see, because he didnt fucking write it.he helped to write some of the songs in killem all and thats it...he got kicked cuz kirk was better and thats it!

  • Slash is incredible

Im a pretty good guitarist and it takes me such a long time to learn his solos cuz his technique is amazing.

  • all that black sabbath solo sessions are about pentatonic....it's people like slash, iommi & so on, that have the creativity to use it in awesome ways....

  • slash is the god of the guitar

  • i dont care if its simple compared to steve vai or whateva this sounds great! does it really matter if stuffs really difficult to play, dosnt how a guitar solo sounds matter more than its technical difficulty?

  • where is the fck'in lesson?..the 20 seconds in the end of the video???????

  • Slash is GOD. He's very underrated :(

  • ermm Pentatonic Sounds Best!!!!!! not all that Satriani Shit!!!

  • All these scales and the names they have don't really matter at the end of the day. Only whether it works melodically, harmonically it works, and creatively. Real pro guitarists generally don't even think about what scales they're using. They play to fit the music. Being able to play every scale in the book doesn't mean someone is a better guitarist, only a better robot. What counts is the meaning and feeling they can put into what they're playing, whatever scales they're using.

  • lol well sed!!

  • man, thats so true

  • i 'd wish you were right on this one but i think the reality is quite the opposite: While it might appear that real pro guitarists aren't concerned with scales and stuff, they have in fact immersed themselves so deeply in them through countless years of study that it has become 2nd nature to them

  • b.t.w., think the playing in this video is boring. i very much liked his playing on the appetite album but this kind of sucks :-)

  • I'm afraid I'm really not convinced. Yes, it's true in certain cases, such as Vai's as well as a number of jazz guitarists. But IMO they then often tend to suffer from a lack of musicality, despite being technically very good. The music has to flow from the soul - you either have it or you don't.

  • having good technique is a strong tool, that's what it is. i agree that some players seem to forget it's not a goal on it self. however, as i got to know the guitar better i noticed that also the great players use certain 'tricks of the trade'. but hey, people like the image of the gifted guitarist that whips up great licks like miracle. a chacun son gout

  • NO ITS NOT.... noty all of it is pentatonic

  • Slash is one of the best of all time, and the last guitar god...he wrote some of the best riffs and solos in rock n' roll history. All the haters are clueless.

  • i hate to break it to the ppl, but rock is mostly all pentatonic. they key is how creatively you use the shapes.

  • @rekkapower

actually i have heard several rock guitarists use the greek modes, including slash

  • @1MrSlash1 dude i made that comment over 2 years ago. you need a life man.

  • @rekkapower lol

  • there's noth
