@Patrickclimbs Trees grow from the tip upwards- what is four feet from the ground today should be 4 feet from the ground fifty years from now. They get bigger around, but are very good about "giving" against obstacles while doing so.
Great vid as always.. Keep up the good work Deek. Are the footings dynamic (i.e. loose stone) to allow for some movement of structure with tree sway? You're brilliant dude!
wow, that's a great house. I have to say something though about drilling into living tree's. A tree can get infected and killed by that sort of thing.
What allowance was made for tree movement due to wind and tree growth? Without incorporating a sliding/pivot connection point to the tree, it seems probable that the posts in the ground and their connections to the framing will soon be loosened. Mixing 2 static elements (posts) with 1 live element (tree) without a flexible interface, does not seem a good idea.
my rule for a tree house is that there can't be any external supports on the ground. it's harder to engineer, but so much more exciting and dangerous in the end
@SVenetor Much of this music is from a Boston band Superkollider- I tour managed them in 2005. They have a few cds out on itunes, etc- all of which esp "Atomic Clock" are pretty bad-ass. For fans of Helmet, Prong, Nothingface....alot of them other stuff (intro theme, is stuff I wrote/drummed on with my band).

@gudenaurock Bah! Decaf tastes awful- it like drinkin' O'douls- what's the point? lol. Anyway, to all- have a great holiday! Also- originally this was designed to hang from a single tree with turnbuckles and cables, but when we arrived on the site, they didn't have any trees large enough- hence the two posts/one tree set-up (in response to the tree house purist comment- to which I don't totally disagree).
