Thanks Brian! My wife often chides me for not reading entire books. This kind of validates what I've been doing. Now only if I can remember what I've read... :(
@MirageR5 hehe. Referring back to the book/your notes 24 hours after you finished it and then again and a week and a month later help lock in the wisdom learned!
Thank you for the quick update, glad to have you back. Question for you? If you had to guess on the number of books you read per year, what would be your total? Do audio books ever make your show?
@MrGiovannihale Thx! Hmmm... I'm not sure! I'd say over 100 easily. I never listen to audio books. I *LOVE* sitting down and reading, marking up my books. It's one of my favorite things to do! Just not the same for me listening.... Altho sometimes I wish I could mix walking/hiking (another favorite activity!) with "reading"! :)
Thanks Brian for this great insight on your reading technique. Listening to your philosophers notes has been my regular morning routine for quite sometime. You have a great personality and presentation style and love to see more of your work. I also love how you call Alexandra Goddess... that is adorable, not sure but i sense Alexndra is little detached from the philosopher's note process... hope its nothing. You guys are a great couple and hope it stays that way for long time ... HppyNewYear
@yamirbhatt Thx for your kind words!!! We both scratched our head at your comment about Alexandra! :) She's super focused on her Rock Your Goddess Life program but still gets to listen to nearly every one of the Notes. :) Happy New Year!! :)
@RyanDotTv hehe. I know, right? Why not? :) We figured we have another year before we want to put roots down and start having kids so went to Bali for a bit and now in Vilcabamba, Ecuador--the Valley of Longevity. :) We have some friends down here and figured it was a perfect place to read/write/create and all that jazz. :)
happy new year to you too mate! more chaos and reorganization on hs here...been keeping up a 2 hours routine...more just fries my circuits, and I need them for building my thing here...ciao :-)
Love the reading strategy , and would like to know if you have a process of note taking ( mindmap or else) that you use prior to rocking the PN PDF to integrate the content ( j remember you saying you rad the book 10 times before u start a note) is that through a mindmap , side notes , or notes in the book.
@airmed Thx!!! My note taking consists of the highlighting process I've developed--w/LOTS of underlining/starring & the baby dog ear or the half a page folded over. + sometimes I'll mindmap & doodle on the inside front cover of the book w/page references to Big Ideas I want to make SURE I capture. I actually only read it once (+ review) before I do the Note , but by the time I've done the PDF + MP3 + TV, it's as if I've read it 10x! And thx for the topic ideas. We'll rock em in 2011!!! :)
@PhilosophersNotes I guess you do, I know other couples that go together just becuase of that: not only do they compare on a soul level, but also on a physical level, you guys make a great couple I think :-)
@theinnercreative Cool question! Once I have created a Note (PDF + MP3 + PNTV) the info is pretty well grooved in my brain & I rarely go back to the actual book. Actually, make that never. :) I DO, however, go thru anywhere from 5-25+ different Notes in any given day as I'm writing. I kinda know which quote is in what Note & open the PDF, search for the key word & boom! It's there! Pretty unique for my situation. If I *didn't* do this, I'd MindMap the heck out of it & create simple docs prolly.
@TheRoyNaim Right on, Roy! My pleasure and thx for the great question! Glad you liked it and look forward to sharing more. Lemme know if you have any other cool questions in 2011!! :)
can you have others do notes to get more info out faster!

Nice video, Brian. Have you read Mortimer Adler's "How to Read a Book" ? That one is pretty cool. It might help some of your readers. Check it out.

How to write your own PN for my top books
How to journal
How to meditate
Can't wait for PN ver.2.0 . Than

Brian, thank you SO much for the video.
Definitely helpful to see how you read and take notes and I will take the best practice and see what works for me.
