you can royal guard the falling ice too aslong as you just guard it in the air and hold guard most of it counts as a just guard

Hahaha. That is stupidly impressive. Very well done. If I used RG I would simply have hidden in the corner and blasted Cerby to death with G-cancelled Spiral shots. Walking around in front of him and taking bugger-all damage is sheer balls of steel stuff!

It was tough and felt like it took forever to get the timings down, but I finally managed to SS rank mission 3 using the royal guard style as of 3 hours ago! It's a proud day indeed that, in a way, resulted of the inspiration of watching this very video. Now to tackle the whole game!

@Adam9172 that was Devil Trigger Explosion or DTE, you can do this on any difficulty. Hold L1 until you see the DT gauge glow red, then release when u want to to deal alot of damage

Can you explain how "just releases" work?

I thought it had something to do with using it at just the right moment of an enemy's attack but I noticed at around 1:30 you did a DTE comboed with a just release while cerberus was stunned (not attacking) and it still did huge damage.

does a just release have to be done only when an enemy attacks or can it be done during their stun animation as well just as in this vid?

If you guard several times before doing a just release the damage will be greater. Thats why my just release did so much damage.

Is there any way to make Cerberus attack with one of his attacks only? For example that Ice beam attack at 2:09. My problem is that Cerberus is sometimes attacking with that Ice rain attack for 6times one after the other.

That i know, theres no way to do that man, sorry. What you can do is try to kill the head that you want before Cerberus goes into feral mode, and i think the one with the ice rain is the best choice.

How are you managing to block the attacks without having your guard break. For example, at 5 seconds in you manage to block the shards of ice he sends at you, but on my game I can't. Is there a specific trick to this?

The secret is the timing, you cant guard at any moment, you have to do it in the exact moment of the hit

to use just release i should have done it when he made his stomp attack, but you take the risk of letting the more dangerous head alive, and when he goes to feral mode its really hard to guard the stalactites attacks from that head

release is when you use the simple release in any moment, just release is using it in the moment you are getting hit, like when you guard

Royal Guard is the most powerful Style in the hands of a master. At times other Styles shine, but the absurd damage reflection of RG is the reward for its difficulty. If you haven't cleared DMD, you should probably use the Style you are best with, or train RG on lower difficulties.
