@SpifftasticGal No the sleeper was real but could only be awakened once per server. Then it would kill everyone travel through zones (Thats right a mob that could zone) killing eveyrthing until the GM's stopped it. It was killed finally on the Rallos Zek pvp server iirc. It took the top 3 guilds combining with everyone on the server who was keyed. It took 300 people like 4 hours. He had no drop table. He was literally never meant to die.
@TrenchcoatTanith Wow!! That is SO cool!! So it like wipes the entire server?? Still, that is just so amazing! I wonder if they did anything like that in EQ2? That would strive me to play more. hehe.
@SpifftasticGal iirc the the original eq2 content had a raid that seemed to be inspired by it but no he was not invincible or anything. eq2 was alright but it wasnt nearly as epic as eq1

To awaken the sleeper you had to kill the 4 guardians. They only stayed dead for like 30 minutes maybe an hour I am unsure. If all 4 were dead at the same time he spawned
I miss the good old days. I do enjoy being 85 though ;). Unfortunately the class I am, is one of the worst for groups, but it was a fun one. The bard was fun, next life I will be playing a bard.

This version of Kerafyrm is virtually unstoppable, now - the NEW version of Kerafyrm MIGHT drop some good stuff - but I wouldn't know.
The only thing Wudon and the 3 other guilds got from The Sleeper was a book titled "The End is Near" and a parchment that read "He who wakes the sleeper, will damn the world!"

Am I missing something? Are you saying it's somehow better to be working all day? Tried that, didn't like it very much. I have to say, sucking unventaleted air into my lungs and lifting furnature for 8 hours every single blasted day isn't actually that fun. I'll take my unemployment, I might make about 500 bucks less a month but at least I'm not killing myself slowly.

Not quite. To my knowledge it was dropped from the guardians. Once the sleeper is killed, the loot tabels from the guards change (a dwarf mask in place of the gnome mask)
Actually this was the one mob that could go from zone to zone slaughtering everyone. I was on Morel Thule when it was awakened, and I laughed my ass off when the sleeper DT'd me and everyoen else in the zone. It was awesome!!!!! Everyone was shouting, it was the most exciting thing to happen to the server and we talked about it for years afterward. Were you online when the sleeper woke up? where did he get you? it was hysterical :)
lmao... Crash and burn. I don't even get why people go after the Sleeper anyway, considering the consequences they have to pay just by waking the poor bastard up. You deserved to get your ass kicked.
Didn't know i still had this video up'ed... anyways, it was on the progression server. The consequences of not waking the sleeper would have been to be stuck at the velious expansion and not move on to luclin... so yeah, we did get our asses kicked, but the reason was because it had to be done.
man i wasnt a serious player back in 00 when i started. I wish i could have been so i could join these awesome raids but hes been awaken on basically every server now. Would be really cool if SoE made him spawn on every server again.
Wish there was sound and spell effects on but with the lack of sleeper videos out there you gotta be happy with what you can get. Sucks that they screwed it up for everybody by despawning him by waking him up.
What guild are you in on saryrn? I was on saryrn for the start and stayed on it for several years before moving back to veeshan. Was an officer of Rage ascending, normal member of Isengard, applicant of The war council and co-leader of rising night.

There is an emulator out there and dedicated servers that stick to only the original everquest. Just google it and ye shall find.
