waited 8 hours to ride it when it first came out with the loop. Going into it you had to know that it was going to be intense, and just like The Beast, you have to brace yourself. These idiots didn't know what hit them.

I am not saying that the ride is perfect. If only 70 or so(not sure what the number is on the whole) but out of thousands does that not say somthing? I am sure that people who should not ride those types of rides do and then they blame the ride. That makes me mad. There are things in life that I may like but they might be bad for me, do I do it anyways, I'd like to but my health(most of the time) is more important. Maybe we should look at our choices rather then blame it on our poor judgment.
@jgirgis81 Roller coasters should not hurt one person. Any more than 5 injuries, and the ride should go through a major overhaul. Any more than 10, and the ride should be closed.

I rode The Son of the Beast with the loop and with the funnel, It was very tough on your neck on both types of coaster. That is why it has closed permanently.

The turbulence of SOB was unreal. 78 MPH might not sound that fast for a coaster but with how rough this ride was, the rider would feel every bit of the 78.

I fucking loved this ride so much. It was one of my favorites back in the day when it was opened. they really should repair it to the best of their abilities, and do a little work on the track. Id also really love if they put the loop back in, and get some trains with good support that could clear it. @metalsushidog The loops supports were metal but the tracks rails were laid on wood just like the rest of the ride. Calling it a wood coaster is referring to how the track is made not to what the support structure is made from. Gemini at Cedar Point is wood framed but it has steel track so it would be a steel coaster.
@SuperScrafty099 Trust me, I would have heard about it by now. Some of my enthusiast friends went today and said nothing about it. In fact, I just saw a picture taken TODAY of the ride, and its still the same.
I was just there a couple days ago and the ride is still standing you can see it when entering the parking lot. From the POV it looks like a fun ride but if it was open I don't think I would risk it. Maybe if they had some sort of over the head seatbelt that secured your neck into place then it wouldnt be so bad.

@tectonicskating No one who works at the park knows anything. Reason for that is CF hasn't decided what to do with it yet, and even then, they don't even tell employees. Only a few people will know about the plans before they are publicly announced.

Someone mentioned on another video that the loop was removed in order to use lighter trains? I am thinking of going back this year. I can remember riding it the first time and loving it but riding it around the time of these other people and my husband and I got off and felt like our brain was lose. It hurt so bad. Was nothing like the first time we rode it. We said we would never ride it again. We ride all the other coasters without any problems.

@alecfederov91 1- Not all roller coasters, even 70mph ones, cause neck pain. There are plenty enjoyable coasters (including wooden ones) that go fast yet aren't unnecessarily painful. 2- 8 g's? Ha. It's rare for a coaster to even pull 5 g's. 3- Five years? It closed in 2009 and hasn't even been 2 years since then. 4- That much different than The Beast? My family was going to go to kings island on that day and my sisters planned to ride that ride but my dad said to wait 4 next week and we found out that happened o.0
I was there the day that happened, we had just rode it about 10 minutes before they shut it down, we were one of the last people to ever ride it with the loop, it kicked our asses! Migraine headache for the rest of the night lol! It's still an awesome ride though and sorry to see the loop go, if they would have just fixed it I would have rode it again and again.
@ToontownFreak14 Because they had to get new lighter trains to put less stress on the supports. These lighter trains couldn't complete the loop, so the loop had to be removed.
I've never gotten hurt on this ride. But it really depends where you sit. I ALWAYS sit in the front seat. It doesn't jar you around half as much that way. But I love this ride and Cedar Fair is dragging their feet about what to do w/ it. They need fix it. It's a good ride.
I went on it after they had removed the loop and still had bad neck pain and a headache for the rest of the day, in the end i was glad i rode it, one of the best and worst rides in my life, LOL, but would do it all over again. Had a stiff neck for about a week but no serious injury. I hear they shut it down for good now... bummer, i loved tht thing :(

In order to replace the trains with lighter ones the loop had to be removed.

@tectonicskating No one who works at the park knows anything. Reason for that is CF hasn't decided what to do with it yet, and even then, they don't even tell employees. Only a few people will know about the plans before they are publicly announced.

Someone mentioned on another video that the loop was removed in order to use lighter trains? I am thinking of going back this year. I wish KI would not have spent the money on that damn sky fly thingy they have this season and fix of the son of beast with it. Truly the ride is no less then awe striking and amazing. I can remember riding it the first time and loving it but riding it around the time of these other people and my husband and I got off and felt like our brain was lose. It hurt so bad. Was nothing like the first time we rode it. We said we would never ride it again. We ride all the other coasters without any problems.

@alecfederov91 1- Not all roller coasters, even 70mph ones, cause neck pain. There are plenty enjoyable coasters (including wooden ones) that go fast yet aren't unnecessarily painful. 2- 8 g's? Ha. It's rare for a coaster to even pull 5 g's. 3- Five years? It closed in 2009 and hasn't even been 2 years since then. 4- That much different than The Beast? That's like comparing getting snapped by a rubber band and punched in the face...

I was there the day that happened, we had just rode it about 10 minutes before they shut it down, we were one of the last people to ever ride it with the loop, it kicked our asses! Migraine headache for the rest of the night lol! It's still an awesome ride though and sorry to see the loop go, if they would have just fixed it I would have rode it again and again.

I've never gotten hurt on this ride. But it really depends where you sit. I ALWAYS sit in the front seat. It doesn't jar you around half as much that way. But I love this ride and Cedar Fair is dragging their feet about what to do w/ it. They need fix it. It's a good ride.

I went on it after they had removed the loop and still had bad neck pain and a headache for the rest of the day, in the end i was glad i rode it, one of the best and worst rides in my life, LOL, but would do it all over again. Had a stiff neck for about a week but no serious injury. I hear they shut it down for good now... bummer, i loved tht thing :(

@TJJ123456789 Because the stress on the track was to much for the weight of the trains. The only way to cut the stress down was to lighting the trains. Which would not have enough energy to make the loop.
