Thank you for bringing the transcendental bliss of the Supreme Personality to those divine cows. All life equally houses the Immutable Gaze of Godhead! Haribol!
Awwwwww. That's so cute. I love how the cows are all crowded together watching you. I want to know how you can play those drums, chant and dance all at the same time!
I pray to Jesus that all animals will be protected and that the real christianity will come back to help the creation. iskcon have much more respect for Jesus than many so called christians!
@CPFAnimals I truly agree with you brother. That is the same way i feel about Christianity here in the USA. I sometimes read the bible and the bhagavad-gita. But the Gita has more indepth teachings compare to the bible.
I used to ( and still do) chant to the cows, and all animals - but this is wonderful prabhus!..to see their faces, their rapt attention to the Holy Name... and that sweet white cow in the middle!...Lord Chaitanya chanted in the forest for just this purpose.. please maintain this merciful kirtan!
hahaha ....it's funny and very interesting how the dear cows have gathered together there and how keenly they are hearing to the music.........well done singers!
I love this. I am sorry at the thought that those dear cows are probably gone by now. But hats off to these kind guys who chose to grant them some real joy. Those cows were obviously drawn to it in the same way that kids are drawn to the sweetness of candy.
These cows are very young, maybe a year old. It's a tragedy that any one cow anywhere is slaughtered for food, but it's more upsetting watching these youngsters, knowing that already they may be gone. But it's so nice seeing them in aline and getting closer to enjoy your kirtan. Jay Gopal. Jay Govinda. Hare Krishna.
poor cows no barn cows are special that way they love a roof hay and a roof over their heads. I love cows they are Godly creatures and are humanities mothers better than many human mothers
ooh they are so sweet cows, the white one seems to be the most obedient of all in listening to these chants. So sad they are gonna be slaughtered, why do people eat cows they are so sweet ,they are to be played and cuddled with not murdered for filling one's stomach we have enough other vegetarian options, but yeah who can change it :(
That's great. I only wish I had these guys on a CD; I would like to hear this again, and again. Those cows really listened and enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing this.
Why poor Cows they are loving it and i must admit i am not a Hari Krishna follower but i do think this Mantra has some healing properties, Music is a powerful thing and there is magic in words.
The cows seemed to really enjoy and possibly understand. They were crowding the fence like children after candy would do. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who does such things.
God bless the devotees for sharing Krishna consciousness even with our animal friends. and May God protect the poor cows from suffering the treatment of man. Hare Krishna!
I watch this often, (aah! look how close those cows are to the fence!!!) so I just thought I'd post the words for anyone curious. I find myself singing this to myself a lot, but had to google some of the words.
Tom that video was soooooooooooo cool!! I think I will watch it a few times. Fair play to you!! God bless the cows. And anyone who thinks they aren't poor should take the time to watch the "Earthlings" documentary... google it.!!
we are in Chorley again just now advertising another festival, (we filmed this in Chorley last May) and are planning on making a 'chanting to poor cows 2'. stay tuned, just have to find some more cows! I will check out that documentary, Hari bol!
i think the cows enjoyed your singing because normall cows don't come that close to the gates but when you sang the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra i think they liked your singing and may have understood the words...
It was funny at first. But when you realise that those poor cows are going to be slaughtered(murdered), then it seems very sweet what you guys were doing. May God bless you.
My husband had a similar reaction -- he kinda chuckled, and then said "You know.... if you ever want to do that with the cows down the street, I'll go too"
We live in an area where the owner is likely to think we're there to "tip" and come out with a rifle though! So we've been too nervous to do it... (Plus we don't play any instruments!)
I wish I could do this for the cows. But I would feel too shy. I guess there's not much a person can do for this poor creatures. I feel so sorry for them. Probably this is one of the reason why I have been a vegetarians since I was a child.
S great that you took the time to be with them and engage them by your chanting. When i was in Vrdavana a huge bull used to sleep at my front door, id fall asleep at night listening to his (well bull lullaby noises,) in the morning id sit with him and his friends while they chewed the cud, such a blissful experience, knowing that they are protected is even more blissful.
Yes I'm sure cows dream. I'm sure they dream of a life that doesn't end w/ an electric shock to the head that only half knocks them out as their enormous bodies, fattened up by hormones, are swung by their legs on a hook over to the kill floor of the slaughterhouse, where their throats are slit open & bled out. Sounds like a sweet dream to me! (Not really)
Seriously, what a desperatly grim way to look upon everything. Just cause those cows has tags in their ears don't mean they are to be slaughtered. Cows all over the world has tags in their ears. Anyway, these cows are not fattened up on hormones etc...Come on!!
How do you know about their quality of life? Are they YOUR cows? How do you know they've not been given hormones or antibiotics? I don't KNOW either, but given that they're tagged, I can make a reasonable assumption based on research.
Its not desperate or grim... Its FACT. Do some research on factory farming & you'll find that my description of how cows are slaughtered is factual.
Also, even dairy cows end up slaughtered eventually.
I don't know what country this was filmed in, but I wanted to point out that in the US most livestock are required to have an ear identification tag if they are registered in their national registry or if you ever want to take them to a fair. I myself used to own a Holstein heifer who was bred for show, and she had an ear tag with her ID from the Holstein registry on it. She was never marked for death and I know the farm I sold her to, three generations showing dairy cows.
I believe Gourangalad lives in UK somewhere... possibly Scotland?
That's interesting to note though -- that just because they've got eartags doesn't mean they'll be slaughtered. I would think, though, that just by odds... I mean, there are infinitely more beef/dairy cows than show cows.
These cows are so innocent. It looks like they r enjoying the devtion that the devotees are singing. I enjoy watching this video. It brings peace to see when the cows are happy. Hare Krsna.
there are only two states in India where cow slaughter is legal: West Bengal and Kerala in the south. For a country that supports a $4 billion worldwide leather trade, this immediately raises suspicions of how such an enormous amount of money can be generated from just these two states.illegal traders run border lines and bribe authorities to turn a blind eye and allow their trucks through.
Even the government-operated train lines are used in the illegal transportation of cattle between state borders. And it's even going on in Vrindavan...
Hmmm! I think its very interesting that the cows are actually close to the fence WATCHING you! There is a farm down the road from me, and the cows there always run from anyone who nears the fence!!
i wish i was there, chanting to the cows is more important than cutting the fence down to let there bodies free, because mahamantra delivers the soul!
This is so nice. Cows even stopped grazing for a while to listen to your chant. Very noble thought. O Lord Krishna Please Purify our thoughts and Fill Our Heart With Love and Make Us Unable to Hurt anybody.
This video reminds me of when I was staying at Folkestone Nama Hatta about ten years ago. Some animal rights people had gone to Dover docks to protest against the cruel transportation of cows across the channel from France, so we persuaded a disciple of Prabhupada to take us there. We sang Hare Krishna until we saw them rolling off the ferry on their way to the slaughterhouse then we started singing Govinda Jaya Jaya. Maybe now they are eating grass in Vrindavan with Gopala.
Those lovely cows seemed to appreciate the chanting. For them, you were probably the best bit of 3 D television they had seen all day! Cows love bells especially.
That made me cry. That was so beautiful and sad at the same time. Thank you for this video, these cows are now in a much better position due to your conscern and love. Hare krishna Prabhus!
