  • My chorus started to learn this song for fun, and it was SOOOO COOOL! But it was only the first couple of pages...

  • for this many people to come together in unison and be conducted via satellite is AMAZING! I've NEVER seen anything this beautiful. This just made my heart smile. I almost cried. SERIOUSLY.

  • This is awesome! My choir (GO WRHS CHORALE) is singing this right now and my instructor told us to watch this for homework. I am amazed! Thank you Eric for writing such wonderful music!!

  • This just blew my mind. Please do another one, I would love to have a shot at taking part in it!

  • Can someone give me the sheet music for this? I'm dying to sing this in my choir.

  • wow

  • I can't find Waldo :(

  • who the hell dislikes this?

  • Where is Waldo? =/ I can't find him.

  • ooo i am probably going to L.A. with my choir in the summer to sing with him :)

  • so all these muthafuckas had a goodass muthafuckin internet connection

  • @donx50 haha one would think. but this was done by the individual singers sending in the video and audio of them singing along with the version of the piece on the "cloudburst" album.

  • I actually got to sing in Carnegie Hall under the conduction of Mr. Whitacre. It was the second greatest experience of my life, next to singing inside Notre Dame. He is a funny funny guy. He kinda likes to talk alot though haha.

  • i found a canadian does that count

  • i wanna join....

  • WOW......IS HE STILL DOING VIRTUAL CHOIR?...I WOULD LOVE TO JOIN!!!

  • remindes me one day we will know the universe!

  • This is beautiful!! Please, Dear God, give us Peace. Please........

  • I could have sworn i felt something in my eye *wipes tear* *sniffle*

    SO BEAUTIFUL!

  • I FOUND WALDO. xDDDDD

  • @my75913 where is waldo :(

  • how can we become a part of it?

  • He should co-ordinate a similar process to find people to play the concert band accompaniment for this piece, in my opinion, it makes it sound even better.

  • Wow, this is absolutely amazing. I first discovered this song a while back when my high school band was going to play this song for their concert and she realized that there was a choral piece to this song. She selected eight of us (choir students) to sing with the band at their concert and we only a 4 days to learn it but it was absolutely fabulous. Ever since, it's been my dream to conduct this song! In fact, I'm hoping to do a tribute to Eric Witacre with my choir this year. Fantastic video!!

  • I want to join it!

  • This is so beautiful i would have loved to been part of this how awesome blessings alicia

  • is there like audditions for this type of thing??? if so is there an age requirement???

  • 11 people missed the like button and hit dislike this is just amazing how somany ordinary people who have a passion for music can come togather and make such an unbelieveably peaceful amzingly beautiful sound like there arnt even words to discribe the beautiy of this sound right now

  • B E A U T I F U L

  • haha slow squeezed... I think I like it better slowed down a little bit.

  • This is awesome, and what a simple-yet-innovative thing! The world sings together. I am in utter amazement - so darn beautiful. I once saw what was called An African Mass - Missa Luba (some 18 years ago), and nothing as clever/brilliant until this. Fantastic, Eric. Thank you for thinking of it!

  • OMG I want to be part of this, please, please

  • how it's beautiful.. for one time, interne was usefull for another thing than porn !

Beautiful work, peacefull song, this is what I call a success =)

  • For the 11 of you who "disliked" this video: pull the pool cue out of your anal orificies, relax and enjoy the beautiful music!

  • 11 people hate calm music or just had 27 cups of coffee and didnt want 2 goto sleep :\

  • This song really almost made me fell asleep because it was SO PEACEFUL!

    THUMBS UP!

  • sorry to spoil the fun, but just the video part (not the audio) was done over the internet, if that many people all recorded webcam audio in different rooms, this recording would sound like ishhhhh ...

  • @grantlandau If you looked that up rather than just stated your opinion, you'd know that each person individually recorded all audio and video. A man by the name of Scott Haines cut all of it together. They went through and found the best recordings and put them all together.

  • @grantlandau uh, dude, it's called editing. not that hard to take away the "ishhhh".

  • Favorited because it's amazing, and thumbs up cuz I found Waldo!!

  • Fabulous!! I would love to be in something like this :)....

  • to everyone who wants to critique the heck out of this: it doesn't have to be perfect. just shut up and enjoy the beauty of the music. if you can do better, why don't you do it???

  • Some of these people don't enunciate enough... I understand that some people have accents, but even still, you're supposed to over enunciate for choir performances and singing on stage.

  • I'm so glad I asked that girl, I think her name was Natasha, if she thought it would be possible to take a bunch of voice recordings and put them together in a choir. Cuz then she told me about this.

  • I wonder how they dealt with lag time? This is really really good especially for being done over the internet

  • not enough of the inner voices...but otherwise, well done

  • @kilroywashere1 you suck

  • @kilroywashere1 hey man thats not cool :-(

  • IF there is life out of Earth, these are exactly the type of things they should know about us human beings.....the great beauty we can create together as one

  • The awesomeness of this is never-ending. Thank you for making my day.

  • this is good.... I was introduced to the Lux Aurumque, which is also good

  • This just made me cry.

    Awesome, lovely, beautiful.

    Giving me shivers.

  • No french singers? that's a shame! :/

  • How do you join?

  • love it! sounds amazin! how many voices are on each part?

  • this is just about the most amazing thing i've seen!!!!! my director would love this!!! i've heard this song so many times but never done this way, my mouth was open the whole video!!!

  • Bad. Ass.

    This is awesome.

  • This is just amazing, it shows how we can make wonderful things If we just unite, regardless of your race, status or geographical location. The world is one, simple and amazing at the same time.

  • This is one of the most beautiful renditions I have ever heard, and it was all done through the internet! Absolutely incredible. Read "How they did it" on

Eric Whitacre's blog (do a google search since I can't post the link here).

  • No emotion in the end.

  • Eric Whitacre may be a sorcerer. Seeing that first picture? I think so.

  • yay for me i found waldo ;3

  • seeing the size increase of the choir from sleep to lux is amazing... i'm glad that people are really getting into such an amazing thing as this choir. i've really enjoyed being a part of this :)

  • FREAKIN AWESOME!!!!

  • Eric Whitacre.

Can you please do this again when the Paradise Lost music gets released?

  • looking for waldo hurts my eyes =(

  • I love the song. Absolutely amazing, but i have one question... WHERE THE HECK IS WALDO!?!?!?

  • that is unreal, lol sooo cool

  • 11 people's thumbs need to be broken

  • this never ceases to amaze me every time i hear this.

  • this is the most amazing this I have ever seen/heard.

  • This just amazes me in AWE! I can not believe that in a world of hate and trouble, that A few people can come together to make such a peaceful sound. To have the feeling of happiness from them gives me chills. I love it when things like this happen. And these are just regular people. That makes it all worth watching. You have inspired me. You all. I just want to be a part of this music. To be "in" it. Thank you.

  • this is awesome. Great job everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is absolutely Amazing. I want to be in the next song!

  • This is amazing.

  • cool ... one should try this with electric guitars and/or violins

  • Waldo?

  • @Pengibuddy lol i think so...

  • omg when it kept saying sleep i got really sleepy lol

  • Where's Waldo???

Hahaha, great job, SO AMAZING :3

  • THIS IS AWESOME!! I WISH I COULDA BEEN A PART OF IT...!!!

  • @dezireezy next time!

  • wow. its just beautiful. im speechless.

  • Truly an amazing way for the world to come together. And such a magnificent result.

  • WOW!!!!!!

  • It is wonderful

  • This year was my first in my high school's choir class and we had the priveledge of performing this song only once at a concert. It was a phenomenal experience; especially when we reached the part "of flying wings and soaring leap" which is everyones favorite bit. This song is heartbreakingly beautiful.

  • This is pretty awesome I'd love to participate in one if there is ever the chance again!

  • Tears well up for me, and philosophical musings over the beauty of the virtual choir tetthered by shared desire to be part of something innovative and beautiful, a hidden humanity and spirituality in scattered strangers, contrasting with the beauty of real choirs linked in real time and 'real' community..

  • my chorus is singing this this year! it's an amazing soonggg :)

  • There are no words that can say how beautiful this is. True peace, inner peace is what this brings.

  • Speechless

  • Well, I hit the "Like" button and thought to myself: It's amazing how 11 people could NOT like this song. It's beyond my comprehention that a single person could not recognize the utter beauty this song provides for our sences and our soul.

  • this is beautiful

  • @ECagelove what an amazing concept. Singers from around the world could actually sing in the same choir and have the performance presented to millions.

  • They are all individuals who do not know each other, most of them from different places, all united in one song

  • WoW!!!!

  • BEAUTIFUL. we played this in band, but my goodness, its simply gorgeous.

  • *goosebumps* O_o

wow! this is the greatest concept i've ever seen!

  • However this is being done, the result is stunningly beautiful. And more beauty in the world is always good.

  • like my comment if you think this is one BAMF'in jawnski!

  • wow!!!! keep it up!!! this is just amazing

  • you are on swedish news

  • I love the bass note at :40 it gives me chills everytime. I also love Eric's clash chords. They never cease to amaze me.

    -Don't ever stop writing.

  • Again, a whole new experience to hear it by a choir. A different level from the band. Whitacre has done some amazing music, like October and Equus. Thanks for your wonderful songs, Whitacre! It's a joy playing them!

  • Perhaps if heaven hears us, other beings of creation will hear us also. There are many who fear the unknown of different universes. They would find comfort &security in this form of communication, a safe approach to meet with other beings in peace. That they will be welcomed warmly by such hearts as these and learn to know them as other than; something to be feared. Together we could meet on familiar ground. Unless this is beyond your imagination ... and I doubt that very much :-))

  • Wow. I'm usually not one to listen to music like this, but wow. This is just amazing. They harmonize so well together. Eric Whitacre and all of his singers did a great job!

  • Thank you.

  • beyond amazing!

  • Though I did like Lux Aurumque piece better. I also think the performance of Lux Aurumque was a little better.

  • I loved it

Only trouble is someone in the altos is sticking out like a sore thumb

    Otherwise good job

  • Virtual choir is an awesome idea, but nothing can compare to the feeling of singing with 200 like minded individuals.

  • I've never wanted to use a web cam .... Now? I'm more than willing to give it a whirl, especially to blend with the harmony of others around the world. EXCELLENT. What else can describe such an idea and corroboration?

  • favorite part- 4:29- 4:55

    Gorgeous!!

  • i just watched this on the news so i looked it up and i have one word ...

    ...

    ...

    ...

    EPIC

  • Love this~! Made me cry......... thank you.

  • wonderful!!

  • Wow...

  • My god, I get goosebumbs watching this!!

  • It may not end every war, but it is still a breathtakingly beautiful piece of work that reminds us of what we can do together. Breathtaking and beautiful. I just love these pieces.

  • i found waldo!

  • This is soooooo awesome!! The song is beautiful and the whole concept is just amazing....

  • Awesome

PS: I did found Waldo xD

  • this is absolutely amazing 0.0 i love it!

  • This blew me away and changed my life. This is absolutely amazing. How the heck did he do this. Is there anyone who can help me do this as a band?

    Myspace/jamespatrickmathis

  • This without a doubt changed my life.

  • Where's waldo? lol... This is absolutly amazing. What made him think of this?

  • This is AMAZING! It would be magical to be a part of this

  • this is just ... beautiful.

  • This has to be one of the finest examples of the human spirit. I am very thankful that I am able to hear such music. Thank you to each and every one connected to this effort. What a sound experience.

  • brilliant concept and production!

  • It is awesome, it is amazing, but I hope it is NOT the future of choral singing, for there is still nothing in the world to compare with the real, live acoustic experience of sound in the form of exquisite music.

  • great stuff...

  • When is the next one? If there will be one? >_>

  • This brings tears to my eyes.. I am so touched by this beautiful creation. What a wonderful gift to humanity....

  • Its pretty cool... maybe they could send out a note and have everyone wear a white shirt or something.... :-P Awesome!

  • Just think of the possibilities If everyone all over the world can be in harmony with each other not only in music such as this but true friendship

  • The guy 14 over from the left and 2 up from the bottom is out of sync with the rest of the choir.

  • make music not war.

  • I cant believe i actually found waldo in this shit

  • if i could actually sing for my life i would totally be in this choir

  • who's waldo.?

  • thats so cool.

  • darn can't find waldo =]

  • MORE ! MORE ! MORE !... Well Done.

  • BRAVO, BRAVO, ENCORE

  • Where's Waldo?

  • A congress of the spirit!!! The world owes a debt of gratitude to the contributors to this project. A message of hope to us all...

  • this literally took my breath away, i'm in awe and out of words.

sang music like this in highschool, and it brought goosebumps to my arms, what an amazing sound a group of dedicated people can bring to each other, such harmony and passion. pure meditation and reflection of life and humanity. i wish all walks of life could appreciate such an art.

    beautifully done. wow.

  • Stuff like this gives me hope for humanity.

  • I'm definitely becoming addicted to the incredible beauty of Eric Whiteacre's virtual choral project. An amazing artistic presence and unity out of vast diversity.

  • Should be every You-Tube user's night prayer!

  • Beautiful humanity. Hope for the world. Let's spread this collaboration with all that we do. Pay it forward good people. :)

  • this is pretty freaking cool.

  • Habe das am WE mit dem LandesJugendChor NRW gesungen. Schönes Ding!

  • this is the most brilliant ear sex i've ever had x ^ D

  • These sort of things are amazing. It brings people around the planet together and in the long term prevents wars and political issues like we still have.

  • @THE ANGELS SING THOUGH THEM

  • @Haokot I'd like to see how this can prevent war.....

  • @YayMedia By reminding us that we have more in common than we realize - our HUMANITY, COMMON EXISTENCE, and this incredible voyage called "life" that we are on together.

  • @lichtbroeder

Well it's a good concept, but is it rational? War won't end until the end of days.

I don't think anyone who planned on attacking another country will see this video and change their mind.

I just wish I could have the faith in humanity some people seem to.

But great job on a brilliant idea to the creator. This would have been really fun to be a part of.

  • @lichtbroeder deep.

  • @YayMedia I think if people from different countries talk, sing and do things together they will in time understand each other and the cultural differnts.

  • @Haokot Um a bit of a long shot but good idea. It does indeed bring ppl together.

  • @Haokot I appreciate music as much or more than the next person, but beautiful music, well-arranged compositions and trained voices do not world peace make.

  • @Haokot The beauty of a hidden humanity and spirituality in strangers scattered across the planet, tethered only virtually, fleetingly, as their individual videos disappear one by one at the end, compared with the beauty of real choirs singing together in real time and 'real' community.

  • The consonants especially are not in time, and you have fricatives "s" (in poetic alliteration?) that are dragged very long.

  • my school choir got the opportunity to sing this song at Carnegie Hall WITH Eric Whitacre. it was awesome working with him

  • I can't find Waldo...

Can someone give me a hint?

  • haha the ending was great lol

  • how does this work? anybody want to tell me?
