  • also if you watch this and then watch the second part in a scandal in belgravia he cocks the gun two different times

  • you notice this and not the constant moving of the coat when Watson's taken it off?

  • @chuggieforever I was going to make another video about that after this one, but I got so much crap for this one that I decided not to.

  • Yes Sherlock is right about "shut up" I dont care his best anyway :D

  • Hahaha bloopers

  • Awesome! I didn´t notice it myself, but plain awesome ! :D

  • LOL Too bad I didn't pay that much attention on this exact part coz at the moment I turned my head to my dad who was like "God, just shoot at him already! I whould have shot at him three times, and only for THAT VOICE (moriarty really had a terrific voice in the russian dub xD)" but now that I see this...I'll always remember it for the rest of my life lD (or untill my sifh memory makes effect) thanks for pointing it out and....INDEED, awesomeness! >8D

  • Yeah, I'd say it's a continuity error. That said, it could be argued that he put up a second hand to steady the gun then put it down again. Mind you as someone who has experience with hand guns it is poor form to ever use only one hand and you should square your shoulders, which Sherlock didn't even do with 2 hands on the gun.

  • u have no life

  • @gracelessgillett Thats just rude. I am in no way insulting the show, I just noticed this, I have a knack for continuity errors. Please use full words instead of text talk.

  • i found it too ,but it's funny ,isn't it~

  • This happens all the time in movies/shows. Not that big of a deal.

  • haha I totaly stopt laughinh when Sherlock said " Shut up ". butt then I started smiling again because the shut up couldnt have been used beter :-) xxx

  • You're right! I never noticed that. Interesting that a show that puts so much effort into tiny details would have a continuity error, even if only a small one.

  • Oh great. Now I'm gonna notice it every time. lol :)

  • NO JOKE:

benedict is my 2nd cosin! when i found out i screamed my head off!

  • @hannahblinkz101 lucky girl!

  • got it! :) haha gosh I love Moriarty

  • fail XD

the continuity fails are funniest in avatar...

  • Gotta love a good continuity fail...

  • Ahh the person has edited it back a scene. Follow Moriaty not Sherlocks hands.

  • He could be holding the gun with the foot that would still be a awesome show, and an awesome episode...

  • he's Sherlock fkn Holmes. He can move faster than Superman.

  • Maybe his hand was tired and he put it down quickly? xD

0:38 THERE YOU GO! See? His hand rested and now he's putting it back and...err...-_-....*imitating sherlock* SHUT UP! xDD

  • good eye. :)

  • oh yeah, they used some of the previous shot -- Moriarty had already made the turn around the pool, too, hadn't he?

  • NO, that was supposed to be like that! there are no mistakes!

    :)

    i didn´t see anything. nonono , lalalalalala :)

  • @OhMyGodGiveMeAName lol, i was thinking the same: If I don't see it then it's not there! <3 xD

  • jim moriarty... HI!!! xDDDDDDDDDD

  • 'do you care' should have found its way as a caption on this clip i think.

  • @Jdeadevil it's from the one with the drug bust so that'll be....A Study In Pink :) x

  • LOL what episode did you get the "Shut up" from? I remember laughing my head off when I heard it but I can't remember what episode it's from

  • The ending was what made this clip. That was just... beautiful.

    :D -snigger-

  • Oh come on, it's not hard to notice this. I thought it was something bigger.

  • Am I the only one who loves it when Moriarty goes "hi"?

  • Hehehe, actually theirs another mistake in the pool scene - the magically moving C4 jacket XD When Sherlock throws it away, it keeps 'moving' XD I love this series so much :)

  • lol that is bristol south swimming pool i used to go ther all the time. they dont show all the mould and damp so it took me about 5 mins to work out where it woz. :/

  • Come on guys. It's not as if Sherlock wouldn't have pointed it out.

  • It matters not. Sherlock is still the most sexy guy ever. Ever. Cause he does that thing.

  • Maybe he just switched to holding it one-handed really fast...? O_o

  • there is also a scene in A Study In Pink in which Sherlock and John get in a taxi at day time and inside the taxi it's night

  • @sophsincolour it's clearly not a mistake... did you notice that the street lights are already on when they get into the cab?

  • @sophsincolour It was dusk - the streetlights are on. And then it took them a while to get to the crime scene.

  • Lol. I love the "Shut up!" at the end.

  • Well they seemed to have shot the whole zoomed out one handed shot at a different time than the zoomed in one. No big deal :D

  • The only mistake is your 'awsome' spelling...

  • You think this is a mistake? Watch Sherlock playing the violin!

  • @GoldRimmer This is the thing that bothers me - everyone goes, "Oh, the miming is so bad, it's obviously not him," and yet he said in an interview that he is a violinist and it was genuinely him playing.

  • @ErinRosamondBlack I can believe he can play the violin, it just looked like they added the violin track in post-production. You can see him lifting the bow off the violin, changing direction and bowing erratically, but not in time to the music. I used to play too, but it just didn't seem real to me. How can a violin make a sound when the bow is off the violin strings?

  • @GoldRimmer I see your point. I play the violin as well, and I thought something looked odd about it - which is why I was surprised to find out that it was real. But I guess, like you said, they could have just recorded him playing and synced it or whatever... Still, it's nice to listen to so long as you don't pay too much attention to the bowing. :D

  • Does this really need a video? I mean, if you made a video for everytime Doctor Who had a flaw in hair continuity - well, you'd have to make a lot of videos. Good catch though.

  • i didn't notice this... because i was too busy drooling after martin;D

  • @iloveDirkKuyt31 agreed :) most have a thing for benedict-but he's no match for the Freeman

  • Very well edited animagigirl

one thing that i must question...

the comments above are the comments that you like? Does this mean you were doing this as an experiment? To see how we react to finding a mistake in the greatest TV show ever made???

  • :) I'd say he just moved very quickly ;p

  • Really wasn't expecting the end of that.

    Made me laugh.

  • Hmm, I never noticed the mistake. I must have been too busy watching the awesome too see that.

  • @Clueless89 *To

  • lol

  • He's amazing and anyone who dissarees he tells you what to do at the end :)

  • Tsk tsk continuity people. They always miss something!

  • there was another one, after the cliffhanger (in series 2 ep 1). one second he was pointing at bomb, next shot at moriarty, no longer pointing downwards. you can clearly see the angle of his arm at that point is not downward enough to be pointing at the bomb. did anyone else notice this? honestly now

  • good eye! :D

  • I think you will find that the real mistake was he thought the gun was a British Army L9A1, when its perfectly obvious, its actually a L106A1, oh my how silly. Although I wouldn't expect that the writers are as unnecessarily knowledgeable, in regards to small arms as I.

  • @sonofplug That was *so* Holmes. :)

  • @iv180 No,Holmes would have continued to explain how every single detail of the gun contradicted its supposed nature, like the double action hammer and de-cocking lever, not to mention the shape of the gun being wrong and my personal favourite, the illuminated sights, non of these features appear on the L9A1, which as we all know is pretty much the same gun they were using in WW2, meaning that most of the squaddies were issued with guns older than they were, thus the L106A1.

  • Nice pick up. THIS IS THE BEST SHOW EVER!! : )

  • usual mistake.

  • sharp.

  • *awesome

  • Just like Sherlock said in the end: Shut up! ...xD

  • Noticed that, too. But I was quite busy with OMG MORIARTY to bother much. xD

  • Well Sherlock obviously has magical powers so he can move faster than the naked eye can detect. Duh

  • Shut up? "That's not what people usually say."

    "What do they usually say?"

    "Piss off." lol

  • jeeezus Christ guys stop trolling on this guy, he says in the title its awesome so he clearly doesn't hate it he's just a bit picky I mean does no one watch great movie mistakes?

  • @Ewtube101 thanks

    its she btw

  • Anyone who thinks Moriarty is portrayed as a "goofball" is clearly an idiot... *coughs the person below in the comments coughs*

Anyway, good catch! I still love this show to bits. Mistakes like this don't bother me much.

  • Sorry, I thought the portrayal of Moriarty as a goofball was the mistake. My bad.

  • Lol i loved the "Shut up!" at the end! Sherlock has such a brilliant script and fantastic acting that i think they're allowed to make a little mistake like this though :P

  • The scene was shot from several angles several times. I'm guessing the only time it was shot from that specific angle was a time he didn't shift his hand until later, whereas in the other times he shifted his hand there. it's not enough of a thing to make a deal out of. I don't think I can even call it a mistake.

  • Damn it!...but you ,dear woman, are perfectly right in your deduction...:)

  • haha, i laughed the end xD

  • Urgh. I hate how people jump on vids like these, accusing the poster of being a hater. They're not saying that an error like this means that the show is crap. They aren't trying to tear down the show's popularity by nitpicking the mistakes. The poster just noticed this little blip in continuity and thought it was funny and wanted to point it out.

Get those sticks out of your asses, people, and beat some sense into your heads.

  • Exactly... shut up

  • LOL! I never noticed that until now. This pool scene is my favorite scene!

  • Maybe his hand got tired...

  • i noticed this too!! haha i still love this show so much

  • i dont get it!!!!!

  • Does it not occcur to you that he might have taken his other hand off the gun

  • @chameleoncircuitrock the cut between the shots was too fast.

  • @animagigirl no it wasnt! :L

  • I noticed this the first time I saw it.... BUT I'M STILL MARRIED TO BENEDICT!!

  • lolz, clever!! XD I was too busy freaking on what would happen next. I was like,"ZOMG!!*eyes glued to tv*" But wow! Fun fact, lol!

  • FUCK OFF AND SHOW US HIS BUTT.

  • boring! WHO CAARESSSS

  • I was more bothered by the fact that he SCRATCHED HIS HEAD WITH A LOADED GUN a few minutes after this.

I guess he must have been really freaked out to do something like that.

  • And also, who cares if she pointed it out?

Things like that are cute to find.

It doesn't effect the scene in anyway. She saw it, and just wanted to share.

  • Lol, detales only Sherlock himself would've picked out! :P

(Don't deny it, guys. If Sherlock was watching that, he'd pick out the little misteak, too)

  • i waz gonna troll but the last 10 seconds made me lol so hard xD

  • I love the programme but did no-one pick up on the fact that the door to the house says 221B yet there is A, B & C inside. 221C even has a sign on the door to it saying 221C.

  • @TheBeeth479 They purposefully did that. Moffat and Gatiss realized that, nowadays, the door would just say 221, but as 221B is the iconic address, they put it on the door anyway. If you think about it, how disappointed would people have been when they zoomed in the door and it just said 221? There would have been a riot.

  • I once saw a show where these people were fighting in a locked room and no one else was supposed to be in the room but somehow you saw someone elses entire shoulder in the shot...

  • I realised but I seriously didn't care, I mean I just thought I was being picky because no one else watching it with me realised. It doesn't take away from the fact that the show is brilliant~

  • He may have just taken his hand off and then put it back on again. This is what I always assumed :|

  • come on one mistake its one of the best tv shows ever made and you have to find a mistake

  • @gijarvis I just have a thing for noticing details like this. I still love the show though, I mean, its Sherlock freaking Holmes :D

  • You figured it out! you're just like sherlock holmes!

  • you do realise that to film anything, they would do several different takes all with the camera in different places. they don't just act out a scene once. they do it many times. so, in a different clip he may have been late to lift his hand.

  • Because a person will never move their hand once they have it in a position.

  • He could have taken his hand off the gun when the camera moved. It may not have been a mistake at all.

  • Oh wow...!!

    How did you notice that!!

  • Yeah, I noticed that when I first watched it. Shrugged it off.

  • Whats the mistake again?

  • I love looking for this kinda stuff XD Always funny. 8''D

  • Maybe... while the camera was focusing on Moriarty, Sherlock took one hand off of the gun because he decided to be even more of a bamf and be all like "hero gun pose."

    Aaaand BOOM goes the dynamite.

  • what's wrong with you? does this actually affect the show or the scene in any way?

  • @jayzner97 I'm not saying anything bad about the show....

  • @animagigirl i just don't get y it's necessary to point it out

  • lol, love the end

  • I noticed this, but by way of mistakes this is tiny. I have not once spotted any camera crew reflections or boom mics or shadows or anything like that whilst watching, I think there's one continuity error where Sherlock has messy hair and then neat hair in the same scene, but that's obviously down to his emergency comb!

  • Sherlock's 'shut up!'

    is the appropriate reaction..

These little things happen aall the time ;)

It was well spotted though :p I never noticed

    xoxo

  • I noticed, then felt like Robert Webb. XD

  • haha

  • I didn't note it!

  • This happens in a lot of movies, I'm pretty sure it's because they don't film it shot by shot. They film all the lines from the point of view of Sherlock holding the gun with one hand, and then all of the shots of him holding the gun with two. But admittedly, they probably could have had him hold the gun with two in the other shot for continuity. Well, that's my theory anyway.

  • Cool. Great.

And I love the movie (anyway).

But cool that you've noticed that. I'd never.

  • It's a genius mistake, much different than a human mistake.

  • Still doesn't take away from the fact that this show is AMAZING!!!!!

  • @AREM16137 I KNOW, RIGHT?

  • OH! i noticed another mistake but not this one

  • Did you spot the one in The Blind Banker?

  • AHHH CONTINUITY MISTAKES. I'm kind of mad I didn't notice it myself, I love doing that XD

  • That might just be him adjusting the gun, and then he puts his hand at his side again.

  • okay I have a basic theory of how this is done. i THINK THAT THEY FILMED IT TWICE AND THEN IN THE SECOND SHOT HE FUCKED UP.

  • @caberwacky yeah that happens a lot in most tv shows, you just have to look closely. I still love this show though :)

  • @caberwacky Joss Whedon once made a comment that one of the most important, and most difficult thing, for actors to do is to remember exactly what position they were in when the shot ended. So, give the guy a break. I mean, they probably shot this scene more times than you even want to think about. They shot the opening scene for The Social Network 99 times.

  • If ever see Benedict Cumberbatch, I will (after regaining control) show him the clip. Ha!

  • @sabrinacatlo I think if I ever saw him, telling him that would be the furthest thing from my mind lol.

  • OMG I did NOT see that!!! XD

  • Shut up...!

  • @SLASH6490 HAHA

  • @SLASH6490 I was going to say EXACTLY the same thing xDDD

  • =O I haven't seen it before ! I have watched this scene many times and I have never seen this mistake ! (sorry Sherlock I'm not a good observer T-T) But we have an excuse ! =O : this scene is Moriarty's appearance and so we have something better to do than looking at Sherlock's arm =O. As Sherlockians, the directors should have been careful about this kind of mistake :S But I don't care : I just love this show ! *o*

  • OH.... D:<

  • "Shut up!"

  • OMG I SAW THAT TOO!!

Well, I say I saw it. The first 100 or so times I watched this scene I was jumping around my house in a blind panic crying "NOOOOO!!". Then FINALLY I was calm enough to sit and watch it properly and just thought "Haaaannng on...". Course, then the cliff hanger came round and I forgot it again =)

  • I WANT SERIES 2 NOW!!!!

  • @BonesFringe4eva SO DO I!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • 'Shut up'. I wee'd.

  • One more mistake, WHY IS THE POOL WATER MOVING?!?!?!? I'm a swimmer and at least in america, the pools are so still they look like glass when no one's in it. Maybe those dang british pools splash around by themselves, if so, I apologize to british pools everywhere for accusing them of being too energetic.

  • @athena2517 Its the filters, you have a point. Normally at night they are switched off in England. They must have filmed this during the day, or maybe turned them on for effect. Dunno. Good point though =]

  • Y hay mas errores, pero da igual, por que es una serie estupenda.

  • Theres Also A Mistake In The Blind Banker he puts his gloves on twice :S

  • @videokilledme1 ha ha yeah, i have seen a few things like that as well :) Sherlock may be observant, but the crew members sure aren't!

  • Oh, there's definitely plenty of mistakes. For example, episode two, when Sherlock makes a point of saying the murdered man is left-handed, you can see in the background that in the bathroom the hand soap is on the right side, with the dispenser positioned in a way that only a RIGHT-handed man would set. Either the murderer decided to wash his hands after the event, or someone on set screwed up :) and believe me, I have more....

  • @TheViolinist01 or his girlfriend person visited and used it, as sherlock did say that he didn't buy it for imself, so it had to be for a woman who was coming over ;) mwahaha, i destroyed your mistake! Be interested to hear the others though...

  • @tomcat941 I have to admit that is perfectly possible, however as he DID go to and come back from a trip, he wouldn't have seen her in a few days, at least not at his flat, and he probably would've used the bathroom within that time. (And he bought the shampoo to IMPRESS her, the lotion was FOR her) another one: The files on Sarah's desk change in order between shots, episode 2. I am also fairly certain I know which pill was the fake in episode 1. (if you're interested)

  • @tomcat941 AND, another from episode 2? When they walk up the stairs to the Circus, the paint on the bottom of the banister is more worn on the bottom than the top. Doesnt make sense. And there's a candle burning, newly lighted, but judging from the size of the crowd, tickets had been selling for quite some time.

  • @tomcat941 Sorry, really getting into this! Episode 1, Watson holds his cane with his right hand, yet in multiple points of the movie the cane will be seen resting in positions which no man using his right hand would consciously set it. Conclusion: left handed crew member.

  • @tomcat941 Episode 3: When Sherlock confronts the curator of the museum dressed as a security guard, he pushes in the door as he leaves, and yet when the shot zooms out you see the door closing from the other way. Even if the door was double-hinged, which I'm fairly positive it wasn't, he didn't put in nearly enough force to make it swing more than a few inches in the other direction, much less a few feet. Sorry, I'll stop now :)

  • Man, Sherlock would be pissed if he saw this..

  • @lizzielonglegs I would be the only one to out smart him.... bwa ha haaa

  • @funnydog11 You can hear Sherlock scooping up the gun while John is collapsing.

  • I noticed another one. When they go to Baker Street (when they're going to basement), Sherlock and Watson come out from taxi and when they're inside the house, Lestrade is suddenly with them... Lestrade's a ninja??

  • @MatiEmmi YES! Lestrade is a ninja!

  • yeah i noticed that as well.

  • I'm so glad someone else noticed that as well! It's quite obvious who the real detectives are here. :P
