A Cocker Spaniel that my daughter had when she was growing up, used to climb into the cats bed when mama cat would go to eat, the kittens would try to nurse but the Spaniel was not lactating. She would lay with them though until mama cat got back, then she would get up and let mama take over and lay quietly nearby.

not all dogs if u get a cat /dog from the aspca then yea they do have 2 be spayed/neutered ( if im wrong im sry ) thats how it is in CA yeah its sad, but its cause they want 2 control the animal population. when a cat/dog gets pregant some owners dont want that responsiblity & just abandon the mother & babies. when a new owner goes 2 adoped a pet i think it should be up 2 them weather or not to get the new pet spayed or neutered & they can pay 4 the cost of the surgery. idk thats my opinion.
