  • wow, Japan even put screen of flashing light guy. ehmmmmm

  • though you said " this guy isn't real " , this guy looks like real for me.

    (*´・д・)

  • "I don't know why. But it's important!" This always cracks me up when you say that lol. Especially about the helmets they wear seemingly at random.

  • hmmm, a bright red truck surrounded by flashing lights and signs, maybe I'll drive directly into it.. oh wait, a guy waving at me!! * swerves*

  • people getting replaced by computers.........so it begins

  • im not sure of the point of this job its intresting though got to be said

  • i remember seeing those guys and i had know idea what they were doing so thanks for that info, at least it looks like they enjoy their jobs a bit which is more then can be said for a lot of people!

  • the flashing lights alone are more warning than what we get in UK...

  • If I saw such a guy with no previous warning, I'd probably either pull over and ask what I'm doing wrong, or just turn around on the spot.

  • maybe he was a ghost of a deceased flagman, and you dint notice

  • In Australia, the flagman would lean on the flag instead of waving it.

  • give the job to a real person.

  • waste of money if you ask me

  • Wow even construction in Japan is cooler lol. Love your channel learn a lot thanks!

  • The virtual flagmen would have spooked me. They look almost real from afar. Anyway, it's nice to see so much effort is put into when it comes to traffic safety.

  • I bet during day the video flag man cannot be seen but purfect at night

  • OMG! the fist guy doesn't have glove! CALL THE POLICE!

  • Awesome!

  • I've noticed from all of your wonderful videos that not matter how big or small ppl are put to work. Given jobs where ever a job can be made.. The video flagman is a safer bet at night.

  • It's almost like that one Hatsune Miku concert. lol

  • Yeah also in Tokyo i saw alot of signs that was made to look like the flagmen and have there arms move in the same direction as the "Live one" a bit smaller but gives the same warning..

  • Saw that in person in Tokyo and started thinking about the reactions of the unions in the US if they tried that.

  • @perdomot Stupidity, no matter where it is, should be crushed.

  • Having an actual person waving a flag when there is construction work isn't a bad idea at all, might get people to actually slow down before it's too late.

  • @Drower So true. They would think its a real person.

  • Where the hell are the first guy's gloves!? lol

  • They should have an anime girl with big breasts waving the flag. That would get peoples' attention at night!

  • People need to stop disliking your videos for no reason... There was nothing in this video that could be disliked... I don't get it. I think some people are just out to be mean....Don't pay attention to them, so far well over 200 of us LOVE YOU! :D Thank you for all your hard work making these videos. Checking my subscription to your channel is a daily task of mine. ^.^

  • @cowgirl22c There's something evil on the internet called Trolls, unfortunately their hobby is to dislike and spam videos with unpleasant comments :(

    Sad but true!!!

  • @geezaweebrek Oh.... that's crazy. =(

  • they have that here in Taipei, Taiwan too, but instead of a cool looking hologram like that, they use a box like device that is about 1 meter tall with a mannequin head (decorated with hardhat and all ^_^;;) and moving flags for arms that go up and down. it really makes you do a double take, so i guess makes you pay more attention to the road work being done ahead, ykwim?

very interesting to see the differences. thanks for sharing! :)

  • That IS cool Oldude!!!

  • America, this is one way of generating jobs for US peoples!! DO IT!! SAVE US!!

  • word.

  • Japan must have tons of jobs that don't exist in other countries.

  • Techology is replacing people steadily but surely. BTW you drive a Nissan March? lol

    I drive a lavender one...Not very manly :)

  • okay....what IS a virtual flagman??

  • That's really cool!

  • Looks like Japan has road signs to spare :p There's a whole bunch of em at each happening. We only have about half the number of signs spammed near our happenings. Still with road safety, you can't be too careful. Better safe than sorry right?

  • There used to be a similar fake flagman where I grew up in France, it got stolen so many times they stopped replacing it at some point :p

  • Weird, you'd say 7 arrows and a bunch of blinking lights would already do the trick.

  • CERCL

  • THX4th@ - But I don´t really get it ... there were loads of signs and blinking lights already, what difference would a dude with a flag make? But they seem to be really into it ... I remember this video on advertizement-flags in front of Japanese stores and stuff ... so it might just be a cultural thing ... but that holographich-whatever-thing was cool!

  • this is kinda like those holographic singers.

  • that's creepy.

  • nice :)

  • @sibspi, @ robertha, I'm pretty sure I know that other countries use uniforms. But Japan, each and every job has distinct and detailed uniform for unique style. It is even became so popular that they have specialist shops. Can you tell me that countries have a Uniforms Professor just to organize uniforms of professions as a job? That isn't like other western countries i know. They are that reliable on uniforms.

  • Soon in Japan - Hatsune Miku hologram warning people at highways! :D

  • なんで旗振ってるのだろう

  • i wish they put that much effort into showing the lane was closed the last time i ran into a closed lane on the highway, it was nothing then BAM, out of no where, small cones blocking the lane

  • @Ditre Followed by "bumpa bumpa bumpa" as you ran over the small cones huh?

  • Of course the country that came up with Hatsune Miku can come up with this easily.

  • Looking at this Video I'm guessing every one in Japan must love their Job regardless of what it is and they do it honestly. Unlike here in UK people look down on some jobs people do. But I'm keen to know how other people think about others job in Japan hmmm...

  • Help me Obi-Wan you're my only hope

  • Very interesting!

  • lol

  • HAHA that was awesome!!! But since its Japan they really should have a cute girl in cosplay doing that.

    Woot! Woot!

  • Thank you for the video.

  • i bet that just by having a real person there waving that flag that the number of work zone related collisions and injuries and even deaths are incredibly low compared to other countries. Do all work and construction zones have a set reduced speed limit there? in Saskatchewan canada it is max 60km/hr for construction and when passing emergency vehicles and tow trucks.

  • poor flagman who got his job stole by a holograme

  • What is that orange car that you are using?

  • "..-hard work, except THIS guy isn't real!" idk why but I think that sentence made my day xD

  • In America everyone is so busy texting and talking on cell phones, I doubt half the people in America driving would see the flags if that virtual flagwaver was installed here.

  • Only in Japan, lol! What a unique place.

  • awesome :0 !

  • Why are Japanese so into wearing uniforms? Each job has like some interesting and specific uniform. They even have a job who specializes in all types of job uniforms.

  • @1992calebw I am into nurse's uniform.

  • @mozartjpn137 you are a medical nurse?

  • @1992calebw I'm pretty sure thejapanchannel made a video about that a while ago.

  • @1992calebw discipline I guess.

  • @1992calebw It helps instill pride in their job. With pride comes a sense of purpose and importance. That's how I remember it at least.

  • @1992calebw Japanese are not the ONLY people in uniform, I think the whole WORLD is in uniform, just because it doesnt look "western formal" does not mean its not uniform. My work would require me to wear streetwear/hip clothing to attract clients/customers of the same kind, If I went formal, my business would for sure degrade within 6 months instantly

  • @1992calebw In case you haven't noticed, other countries do as well; uniforms aren't a concept unique to Japan. Look up 'dress code' on wikipedia.

  • @1992calebw The guys who have that job, wear interesting and specific uniforms. The guys who design uniforms have the best job in this regard: they get to design their own! :p

  • @1992calebw haha do you know wich uniforms the guys are wearing who spezialize in the job uniforms? ^.^

  • @1992calebw yes, and a guy who warns you of his goings ons

  • how much do these guys get paid? it can't be much really can it? like $5 an hour?

  • @Yoshoku US$130 for 8 hours.

  • Seems like kind of a waste of a job when you can have a regular electronic billboard with flashing arrows on it or something similar instead... oh well.

  • Nice idea. Being a flagman seems a little dangerous to me

  • @Gell1welt69 He has a helmet on though, he'll be fine.

  • lol i thought they were projections just like in Star Wars O_O

  • @AnarUto50 not yet m8...not yet, but soon maybe? probably?

  • @AnarUto50 "help me Obi-Wan , You're my only hope " =)

  • Here we don't have those flagmen. So earlier this week I actually made a mistake in traffic because the signs were just a vague. :S

  • wooooow! and THAT'S why i love Japan and the Technology!

  • They are quite orginized arent they?

Now thats the kind of society that woks for the citizens' benefit.

  • great job ^_^

    love all your videos
