  • what kind of peaceful protest is it when people started to attack buildings and burning up cars. in this situation, what are the cops suppose to do.

  • I am going to fully admit right now 1 year later that Americans are retarded indeed.

  • daniel, I am one of the people who questions government leaders because their inherent clinging to power.

I am one of the people who askes himselve why people are protesting, when they are. This is often so completely different from acknowledging any reason the news media presuppose on that matter (in both western and eastern media).

  • Allaaman let's Boycott Lenovo: A China base Company. A sponsor Beijing Olympic. It own IBM thinkpad notebook. Lenovo is a supporter of torch relay route to Tibet as China brutally crackdown, killing Tibet monks, cut off food and water in many monasteries and violate human rights, cut off information after the unrest in Tibet.

Please spread the word "boycott Lenovo"

    Thank you

  • Boycott you mother's ass, their are millions of made in China goods, and ther will be much more, why don't you boycott you underwear? You are a representative of scared ruining western liars. Shame on you.

  • No body wants chaos in China. Western protests even goes against the economic interest we have in China. Bush risked allot when he gave the Dalai Lama a gold medal.

We just love Tibetans and they tell us their culture is being suppressed, I have a right to believe them and I call upon your leaders to prove their case by letting foreign reporters in.

May the olympics bring fame to the worthy Chinese people and cultures.

May every chinese be able to live a happy life in China.

  • Chinese people, can you say something that is not in line with your own governments view? I challenge you.

We say the riots in Tibet started because of suppression of Tibetan culture. Your government failed them. It is not uncommon that this happens among races, we made the same mistakes also in Africa and America. The added problem in china is only the totalitarian regime and propaganda, the truth about suffering Tibetans never reaches the ears of your leaders ie Mao never heared of the famine

  • Thats western media made the fake!!!

  • This sure doesn't look like a peaceful protest; the monks look agressive. And what crack down? The so called para-military police showed restrain. The lady obviously is biased. China Demonizing sure has become a global sport!

  • ben5017, you are a moron, the only pictures on the net of police beating monks, are of Nepalese police. There have yet to be any photos of Chinese police beating monks.

mayyoubekind, I have no idea how you call trashing shops and attacking innocent civilians, peaceful. What are you? a professional moron?

  • Great title with a ridiculous content!

This is what is called PROPAGANDA!

Stop talking about goodness and human rights, you guys just want the chaos in China. So hypocritical!

Unfortunately for you, you'll NEVER succeed!

    You are so pathetic!!

  • So the Police Beating Monks is OK? I am sure it's a good thing to do in your book because you are clearly for yourself and could give a sh&t about human rights!

You are the corrupt one ...

  • The only footage of police beating monks are of Nepalese police. Please show me where you saw Chinese police beating monks at the Lhasa riots.

Or were you one of the people who just believed the news reports, where they labeled Nepalese police as Chinese?

  • this video is ridiculous, totally lier.

  • fuck these chinese bastards..they are a sore on this earth..

  • I have lived in China twice and have traveled to almost every province. The reality is the environment is massively and in many cases irrevocably polluted, most people (except some in the big cities) live in poverty and the people have few civil and human rights (I have seen police beating citizens out in the city square in Zhengzhou). China has insurmountable problems that will never be overcome unless the Chinese people wake up to the fact that they are being manipulated by a dictatorship!

  • Yeah, n' what have you done to help? No, instead, you just stand where you are and watch. When China has finally finishing digging their way out of the mass you left, England, France, Germany, Russia, USA, Japan, Austria, and Italy left. And you people starting to judge us. What's wrong with you? England, Spanish, France, invaded many places: New Zealand, Australia, Tahiti, even USA and Canada. Since when North America start to grow white people?

  • China will soon be surpassed by India with its 1 billion talented people. India has democracy, civil society and rule of law and social stability that China can only dream of right now. That is why foreign investment continues to flow by far much more to India than China where there is a transparent democracy. China makes only token gestures of democratic change and wont see democracy in this lifetime and consequently all people who are not connected to "the party" will suffer.

  • OK. you wanna continue embarrassing yourself, I would like to give some support. You don't like China even if you lived there(but for how long each time, I don't know), fine, not my business, China is far from perfect, we all know it, we want it to be better.

But is your country perfect? I once discussed with a Swedish and a Spanish friend about whether democracy can give a more peaceful world, at first I am at the side to say yes, I now still intend to but with a bit less confidence.

  • Because the Spanish guy emphasized to me that a democratic country U.S. drived a war over Iraq (Don't mention U.S. citizens think the war is illegal, it's meaningless, it has happened.) What is the original intention of yours to start it? human rights of Iraq people? Sure, a good reason, but have you succeeded? Is the human right there better than before the war? There were 10 times people more dying unnaturally in Iraq before your charging-in! Do you have human right after you die?

  • Typically you Americans recognize democracy as the first value over others and always attempt to push this value towards other parts of the world. But talk to your own social scientists, ask them whether U.S. is best example of democratic country and whether the evolution of humans pursuing a perfect social system has ended(if it is democracy). Ask them also whether there are pre-conditions of democracy to work reasonably.

  • China out of Tibet!

Stop the PRC ethinic cleansing of Tibet!

  • hehe, you are having fun, right, OK, let's kidding together.

    U.S. out of Earth!

Stop the U.S. stupid policing of the globe!

  • List of top 2008 Olympic sponsors to boycott: Johnson & Johnson Panasonic McDonald's GE Coca-Cola Kodak Samsung Lenovo Omega Visa Manulife Atos Origin We can start to send a message right now by not buying products from these companies and writing to them to withdrawl.
  • yes, do it now, please. Don't just shout here. Let's see whether you will succeed.

  • nice sound effect???

just cannon shot and a girl talking in english??

  • You Hypocrite ! how dare you say shame, when you also swallow your own demise. We as Americans are the first to know just how much the media Lies. Turn on your Fox station for further truths. with a name like mayyoubekind, you shouldn't point fingers. while our American dollar plummets you play the blame game?

  • Protesting Tibetans and others who are protesting in Olympia Greece (which is not shown on Chinese Television)and the many other locations abroad are bringing China's human rights problems to the attention of the world. These protests are broadcast worldwide and this is making a difference. Many people abroad now dont want to buy Chinese products. This can significantly damage the economy as it depends on its exports for continued economic growth and can bring instability to the government.

  • DO NOT RUIN BEIJING OLYMPICS, DO NOT RUIN THE DREAMS OF THOUSANDS OF ATHLETES!

Yes, the Chinese Communist Party is corrupted, and every Chinese citizen has no doubt with that. However, when it comes to the issue of Tibet's call for independence, the description goes like

    China=UK

    Tibet=Northern Ireland

    Tibetan insurgent=IRA

Do you think it's possible to declare independence?

  • Sure you could draw a variety of comparisons

    China=england... eh.

I think China= Stalin's Russia is far closer

As for the Olympics... it's not only about the dreams of the athletes (obviously)

We have a DUTY to speak out against injustice when we see it and by God we will

The athletes will either have to suck it up and deal with it or (better yet) BOYCOTT TOO!!! :)

  • CCP's sin: Oppression, Brutal killing, silent critics, violate human rights will stain Beijing Olympics sponsors by association law. You support the bad guy, your company guilty as they were. Those companies sponsors' logo will stain with Beijing bloody hand. Well documented: Tienanmen Massacre, Tibet Genocide, Darfur Genocide link to China unethical business of oil for weapon sale. Burma crisis is showing CCP, an animal's value, business over human life

  • Dear John; It seems you are missing the whole point! We tibetans escaped from our own country simply because your govt invaded our country and we were tortured and tormented just voicing our freedom back! Remember your own Tainnemen Sq rollout of Tanks by your own govt to crush the voices of your own people?? Maybe you need to refresh your memory before asking us to come...! Mark my word loud n clear; "We will come for sure - with freedom in place, So be prepared for that!"

  • Tenzinmd, I think John is a commie. They propaganda, 100 Tibet try to get back to Tibet. India did a dirty job for China arrested them. Tibet never give up their right, homeland, and religion.

  • Dear Tibetans living abroad. I wish to remind you all that you're not qualified to judge whatever happens to your fellow Tibetans in Tibet. IF you really want to make Tibet a better place for Tibetans, STOP protesting or rioting in foreign land. COME BACK to Tibet and FIGHT for your independence. Stop living cowardly in other people's country.

  • Q for Americans: if a group of people set fire on the street, breaking cars, windowns, robbing, killing people, and shouting "free New York" or sth. What would you expect your government to do? Urge your government to sit down with them to talk? Invite UN observers to investigate?

  • In the US if there is a riot as there was one in the 1980's in Los Angeles there is full and FREE press coverage by domestic and international media. American and international Human Rights organizations, the government and anyone else interested investigates, reports and speaks out about any perceived or found injusitices. If parties feel they are abused or treated unjustly by the government, police or others they can lodge a lawsuit (unlike in CHina).

  • i wish this "peaceful protest" would happen in the US. Then we would got a big news the next day:

    Terrorists attack!

  • Perhaps China can learn the lessons of America. In the 1950-60's there were many civil rights protests some violent and some not. The result of these was a civil rights movement that made America a better place to live with freedoms and liberties for all. There is REAL freedom of press, religion, assembly and speech (just to name a few) for all in the U.S. not just for the majority. This is enforced by the government through the justice system. Han and minority peoples deserve this too!

  • Not approved, sorry

  • Peaceful protests? Why don't open your eyes to look at those innocent civilians killed and attacked by these evil monks and mobs--those criminals? China needs law and order just as USA does in the same situation!

  • ah ass hole .... why are there all these problems, because humains are just idiot, its a shame to me for being a humain.

  • ##The TRUE reason for UNPLANNED riots##

What began as a peaceful demonstration by monks on the anniversary of a failed uprising in 1949 has escalated into widespread demonstrations, with accounts emerging of security forces using live bullets, tear gas and other means to restore order.

  • Those riots were not peaceful to begin. Did you see them break windows and beat up people ? If these happened to you, what are you going to say

  • Peaceful? An Australian captured film of Tibetans rioting they weren't peaceful.

However I do think restraint should be exercised.

  • Violence isnt the answer but you cant be surprised when people who are treated unjustly rise up. Unfortunately, if you live in China u do not have access to any other history but the government's version. All you know is what is government sanctioned. If you had access to historical records from neighboring countries and other sources outside of China you would know the truth.

  • If you go there it is obvious. Unfortunately, I regret to say this is the reality in China's minority areas. Han Chinese suffer many injustices too at the hand of their government. Such is obvious with the relocation of peasants from the Chang Jiang area before the Three Gorges Dam was completed who were cheated out of their compensation by corrupt officials. If you are arrested for something you are presumed "guilty" until proven innocent not vice-versa. Just to name a few.

  • I lived in China twice and went to Xiahe and other minority areas. Minorities are treated at best like second class citizens. Chinese call them savages and say they need "civilizing" and that they are doing them a favor by developing their areas. But, Chinese reap the benefits taking the best jobs and resources. THere is no real freedom of religion, the government regulates and posts officials at all institutions of faith. You can push people to the limit for only so long before they rise up.

  • I aslo disagree what Chinese Gov done to minority areas,Stronly disagree more benefits and resouce given to those Minorities. They can have several Children ,but Han-Chinese only can have one, they can carry Weapons but Han-Chinese cannt,They can enter colleage only need to get 1/4 scores to Han Chinese must strive to get. They can enter Officail positions at the percentage which is Hundreds times higher than Han-Chinese. I stronly appeal Chinese Gov Treat all the nations equally.

  • guys look...a deeply religious country like Tibet is using violence in their protests...its shows the intensity of their yearning for freedom, how they suffer under the chinese govt...they had no say at all... when football matches are arranged for tibet, china want them cancelled off...Tibet has become a tool for china's income and selfish needs..china simply wants everything, hong kong, taiwan and tibet...colonisation simply doesnt works in this day and age anymore..

  • Colonization? Hong Kong? Taiwan? It seems that you really need some education. I agree that the Chinese government needs to treat its people better, including the Tibetans. But calling the violent Tibetan riot against innocent people "protests" and meanwhile calling the Muslim suicide bombers "terrorists" is totally hypocratic. You know, the muslims are also deeply religious.

  • The tuition for primary and secondary school is far too high for many Tibetans. So their children begin with a disadvantage compared to Han. If you actually go to Tibetan areas you can see the large percentage of Tibetans in slums and very poor compared to Han. You can see the Han with all the best jobs and you can see there is an obvious disparity in income and status. Han peasants can also have more than one child as they face similar disadvantages as minorities.

  • Maybe Han Chinese work harder, don't you think so? Just as in Indonesia where Chinese minority work much harder and therefore accumulated a lot treasures.

  • Under western rule, they were slaves like animals. Did you complain about that ?

  • guys look...a deeply religious country like Tibet is using violence in their protests...its shows the intensity of their yearning for freedom, how they suffer under the chinese govt...they had no say at all... when football matches are arranged for tibet, china want them cancelled off...Tibet has become a tool for china's income and selfish needs..china simply wants everything, hong kong, taiwan and tibet...colonisation simply doesnt works in this day and age anymore..

  • What do you think if USA only allow Negro own weapon? What do you think if the Bindwood give most opportunities to Asia? colonisation? Why do you not come back to European and return your land to Indians?

  • It is a problem everywhere that natives and minorities have less resources, status, etc.. No country is exempt and all can do much to improve. America can give Hawaii back to the natives as there is still a big enough surviving population unlike the other native groups of the U.S. And China can give back Tibet. China is a particularly bad example of human rights violations. It is not just the West citing this but also China's Asian neighbor's like South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and India.

  • Hello Douboy 555,

One of your grandfathers was in the chinese resistence movement and fought the Japanese on several occasions. O.k., that's great! He was a hero! I'm sure you'd call that a just war. But why then do you reject the claims of the Tibetans? Wasn't their country occupied, their women raped, their properties destroyed or stolen? What's the difference? Or is the only difference that the agressors in this case are Chinese? Please explain that to me. Greetings.

  • the difference is China and japan are two countries and Tibet is part of China. A small group of people dont agree with that doesnt mean it's not true. go ask the majority of tibetans who live in China whether they want independence.

  • Hello,

I've studied Tibetan Buddhism at the university. One of the books I've read about that subject is "The Religion of Tibet" of Sir Charles Bell. That book was edited at the end of the thirties - more than 10 years before the Red army invaded Tibet.

In that book of Bell, that is very well documented, the history is extensely described. And he states that China has sometimes tried to interfere in Tibetan affairs, but that in fact the Tibetans had always run their own independent country.

  • Well, douboy555, just answer two simple questions:

    1. How can you explain that even Chinese students in Beijing are protesting against the violent crackdown of the Tibetan protesters?

    2. And what would you do if your country was invaded and plundered, and almost all of your religious buildings were destroyed, if your language had been forbidden and your women raped?

Wouldn't you be furious, just like the Chinese were when Japan invaded their country?

  • 1,those chinese students don't know the truths as chinese govt blocked the news which could trigger the anger towards the tibetans.

2,in the past, tibet still had slavery system, women were inferior to men. but now, everyone in Tibet has the equal right. as far as i know, tibetans are still learning their own language but at the same time, they learn chinese as a second one.

  • You know, guys... arguing with the communists and their supporters is like fighting a dragon: when you have chopped off one head, ten new heads will emerge. But his power is only an illusion, his words are scattered, his lies will all evaporate in the end... After the tragedy on Tianenmen Square, the persecution of the Falun Gong, the oppression of religion and thousands of executions, this is another crime of the Dragon. But we all know the fate of dragons... They have all been defeated.

  • China out of Tibet NOW

  • tibetans should leave for india as their Dalai lama is there.

  • YOU EVIL MINDED RED NAZI CHINESE, WHAT IS THE USE OF COMMENTING TO YOU ALL, BLINDED BY THE EVILNESS YOU WILL NEVER SEE THE TRUTH, AFTER ALL YOU ARE THE PEOPLE WHO KILLED YOUR OWN STUDENTS, Kills Millions of Girl Child Every Year, Suppress all the truths and lies and lies...... Really no hope from you all.... God bless your souls... saying that I don't think you care, as you don't believe in God....Hopeless..

  • let's "peacefully" set fires, rob the banks, burn the shops, and kill the people!

  • its shame to human race and humanity, china should be ashamed of them self; you have to know that tibet is tibet, u have to know that we are real and we will never ever give up on tibet.........

  • how ignorant are you? yes im sure they have...but quite frankly i would do the same if a foreign govt came in and told me what i can and cannot believe...if my business was shut down in order for them to put in their own that does the exact same thing...and most importantly this footage is of a peaceful protest ending in murder by the chinese government...there are other videos of MONKS being violently arrested while sitting on the floor and chanting..if you see nothing wrong with this i pity u

  • comon man, it's a peaceful protest. they're only throwing rocks, burning buildings and hitting people all over the places, peaceful enough

  • Free the Tibet !

  • "peaceful Protest" ...nice title

  • buddy ....it is their country ...so just give them the freedom and Foff from tibet

  • Buddy.....did ask Americans to leave ? Their land was totally indians' not long ago

  • This vedio has been wristed, it did not show that they had actually beaten police and several police died first before the police took any self-defence action!!! If it was not for the image before olympics, I personally think the police has right to release tear gas since the demonstration is aproved. Just like what US police man has done in NY, UN building!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Should China act as Europeans did 400 years ago in America?! Surely we know better now than the Europeans did 500 years ago. Do you want to go back to that uncivilized behavior? There is still a huge Tibetan population left as their country was conquered in 1949 as Mao tried to grab as much territory as he could pushing all the way into India and leading to war with them as well. There are very few native Americans left and that is what will happen to the Tibetans, Uighurs & other minorities.

  • So if the Americans are so civilized now, why don't they return the land to the rightful owners?

  • In America there are few surviving natives. They have been wiped out starting 600 years ago by disease and conquest brought by the Europeans. Only a substantial Hawaiian population remains and the native Hawaiians are not rioting in the streets and calling for independence. They enjoy an open society with basic human rights and liberties that unfortunately Tibetans and all Chinese do not. If they have any grievances they can sue the government or others, they can protest and publish freely.

  • Yeah... they've been wiped out so now theres no one to protest about it, how convenient.

  • This is a response to hpaonessa's comment about native Americans.

  • Its too bad you completely miss the point.

  • Are you comparing the Tibet situation with that of the European conquest of America? Then you are clearly admitting that Tibet has been conquered and colonized and has NOT always been rightfully part of China? Or is it ok for CHina to conquer and colonize if others have done it? With this logic then Hong Kong was rightfully that of the British, Macau was rightfully the Portugese,Qingdao was rightfully the Germans, and China rightfully th Japanese?! Surely you dont believe this logic?

  • Firstly, lets get some facts of history straight. The Sino-Japanese, ended with the unconditional surrender of the Japanese. The Opium war ended with a peace treaty, Hong Kong was leased to the British for 99 years. So all is well there.

Secondly, I didn't admit to anything, as the facts are still being disputed, but if they turn out to be in favor of the Tibetans, it is comparable to the European conquest of America, and the colonization of Australia which undeniably belonged to the natives.

  • The Japanese surrender of China occurred only because of the U.S. dropping of two a-bombs and carpet bombing of 8 Japanese cities in August 1945, which forced Japan to sign the conditions stipulated by the US and the Potsdam agreement. If not for the U.S., Chinese may be speaking Japanese now and according to YOUR logic ("if others conquer we can too") the Japanese would have every right to do that. China was FORCED to sign the Chunbai Convention and surrender HK to the Brits.

  • hahaha, hpaonessa,

what a word: "If not for the U.S., Chinese may be speaking Japanese now"

Deal with mine: IF NOT FOR CHINA, AMERICANS WILL DEFINITELY SPEAKING JAPANESE NOW TOGETHER WITH ALL OTHER ASIANS.

  • Charliezhu01 -- Based on what history? Where is your historical proof for that?

  • 1) Please find the records of the number of ordinary Chinese people and soldiers in the anti-Japanese war.

    2) Please read some history on how many Japanese troops had to be positioned on China by the evil Japanese leaders.

    3) Next

  • 3) If not for Chinese enormous sacrifice of losing huge number of lives to fight Japanese constantly (well, if you say American lives are more weighted than Asian ones, then we are not on the same ground), Japan won't be facing two-side combats and will be able to use all his resources to fight you Americans.

  • 4) If U.S. can handle the attack of Japanese himself, why did you have to push "Jiang Jie Shi" so much, and urge him to fight Japanese?

He did not fight Japanese at first, but the communist party did, he was forced to fight Japanese together by U.S., communist part of China and some of his own followers.(Don't tell me you don't know about this, because you have been discussing this piece of history apparently confidently.)

  • 5) Next time, be careful about what you claim, if your hypothetic claim is too bold, please accept that you will be made fun of by other's doing the same.

    6) If we both contribute on the success of something, don't ever think it's done on your own. That makes you look bad.

  • There is nothing hypothetical about the history recorded which I have referenced.

It is crystal clear that you know only how to parrot the propaganda history of the CCP and dont know basic history or perhaps you have no access to it. Until the Chinese people start thinking for themselves (beyond the propaganda) they will always live under the rule of an oligarchy. What a shame a country with a grand history and culture enslaves itself to a few dictators and remains in the darkness of feudalism.

  • Why can't I claim you as parroting the propaganda history of U.S. then? Can I doubt it? Or can't I in your arrogant eyes. Show me your reference then. I haven't leveled down the contribution of U.S. to success of winning the war, it is you that is degrading China's contribution.

Who is more advanced is clear. But being arrogant at your own success will only accelerate your deterioration, because you are too confident at what you attained already, neglecting too many other factors.

  • I definitely don't agree on the logic: "if others conquer we can too."

But the question is: is it really a "conquer" when China regained Tibet? The only standard to measure whether a redistribution of political power is legal must only be whether the new government cares about local people and whether the new government aims at enhancing life of majority of local people rather than keeping the right of a few noble who can arbitrarily kill their slaves(read some history of Tibet please).

  • When was Tibet part of China?! During the Tang Dynasty?! Ancient claims to people and lands are not legitimate in the 21st century. That is why this claim of Tibet being "regained" has no credibility outside of China. THis is a very tired justification that the CCP uses to grab other's territory including India's Kashmir and Arunchal Pradesh. Your statement is patronizing and racist to Tibetans! It is the typical attitude of the Hans that I observed when I was in Xiahe and other areas of Gansu.

  • hahaha, OK, deal with this.

When was U.S. U.S.! 3oo years ago?! (I guess the Indians lived long before white there?)Ancient claims to people and lands are not legitimate in the 21st century. That is why this claim of U.S. being "U.S." has no credibility outside U.S.

This is a very tired justification that the U.S. uses to cover their savagely killing the Red Indians and grab their land and finally evolve to the present U.S and depicted themselves as the guard of world human rights.

  • Clearly you do not know how to carry a rational and adult discussion. Thank God for China that it has brighter, more intelligent and logical thinking people than you! Otherwise there would be absolutely no hope for China.

  • Surprised you can't see I am satirizing rather than being mad, I thought you are at least a guy with average intelligence, but now you are forcing me to doubt it. Obviously, I am kidding, because you guys have been kidding too much here. You are also self-contained to your belief: democracy, human rights. (I claim again, no one questions the advancement of these concepts) But obviously you are not aware that these concepts are fragile when politics is involved.

  • You are not aware of that because you Americans have lived in wealth for too long with respect to most developing countries. You consume and devour the most of the resources per person in the world. You can sit comfortably in office pointing to anyting you feel unfair. Yes, this is ideal, if one can, everybody will do the same. But what does this thing come from? Have you realized all what you have now is related what your forefathers did? Were these things there for free?

  • If you admit that, it is not for free, you are agreeing that such ideal concepts must have a pre-condition to emerge at certain parts of the world. U.S. was lucky to catch your own opportunity for creating a society as it is today. But your history also includes dark sides. Your success also includes blood of the Red Indians, suppression of Asian labors, colonizing and so so on. Why have not you talked about human rights then but a hundred years later?

  • Let me summarize a bit:

    1) Concepts like Human Rights & Democracy are advanced, but also fragile in reality as well.

    2) I appreciate that some Americans want to spread out these good things to the rest of the world.

    3) But it doesn't mean every country should do exactly what Americans did, although this will make you proud of yourself. There is no chance of repeating the development of any country in the world.

  • 4) Whenever ordinary people calls their government to charge in problems of human rights happening on other cites of the world, it will inevitably involve political consideration, which means there will always be professional politicians, utilizing the the call for human rights from the people to attain many other political purposes such as splitting up an established neighbor and makes it weaker so that themselves can gain more weights when negotiating.

  • 5) Anyone purely believes that a government of one country will be enthusiastic to charge in other countries' issue for protecting human rights in the latter is too innocent.

    6) By original ideas, people who call for protecting human rights are all respectable. But sometimes the whole picture of reality is far beyond one's scope.

7)No matter what impression the outside will have on China, it will continuously develop itself. For us, leading a better life is the top task.

  • No one is too important to others on this earth, neither is his or her idea.

    8) It is always the people themselves to define their destination, no matter what others want them to. If anyone disagrees, we shall consider whether it is constructive and feasible, but we have the right as well to disagree when the suggestion is not constructive and feasible.

  • If we fail, we will accept our own mistakes and go on correcting it, it's none of others' business. Suggestion is welcome, as it was and will be. Charging-in will be protected without doubt. Apply these essence to all people please, not just the few westerners who think they have known enough and who are proud of their arrogance. No westerner can behave a qualified leader of Chinese people, so please just step out, watch and give advices.

  • 9) For those who hate China for whatever reasons, including this fake "free Tibet" based on constant lies of Dalai Lama, do whatever you want. You will not go Beijing for Olympics? Great, we can then save the money of welcoming you. guests cost. Want to throw away Chinese products? No problem. I suggest you not only do this during Olympics but do it in the whole rest of your life. It is your freedom to do so.

  • 10) For those who think that bring Dalai Lama back to Tibet will give a better life of Tibetan people, consider [1] what was Tibet like when Dalai Lama ruled it, how does Tibet look like now. [2] why he and his followers were not welcomed. (because communist party is evil? Do not kid me on this) [3] what U.S. have done to enhance human right of Iraq and the results. Please train yourself and get more wisdom first rather than charging in rudely and inappropriately.

  • Your view of the world is completely U.S.-centered, your statement is patronizing and racist to all other nations than U.S.! It is the typical attitude of the Americans that I observed whenever parts of the world I have been to.(Don't you know many of "your partners", e.g. many Europeans hate your stupid world-policing as well?)

  • Cont. response to daniel- HK was colonized by the Brits after they dictated terms of victory of the Opium War, it was not given to them as a favor by the Qing gov. By your logic, a colonizer has every right to colonize because others hundreds of years ago have done it too. In which case, by YOUR logic Brits could by right have just kept HK.

IRONIC and TRAGIC that the CCP is acting in Tibet just as the Japanese did in CHina during WW2.

  • Yes, I'm aware of the fact they surrendered after the US nuked them, my gratitude goes to the US. And yes, realistically, should the Japs have won the war, we probably would be speaking japanese. Secondly, there is a stark difference between the actions of the CCP in Tibet, and the "kill all, burn all, and loot all" approach.

When it comes to colonization, who states what 'rights' a country has? I comparing it to European colonization because they have done pretty much the same thing.

  • Thank you for posting.

  • China's severe repression of rights in Tibet inevitably led to the recent violence.

"It shows the level of frustration that was building up. They seem to have reached breaking point against the policies that the Chinese have used in Tibet,"

  • When you are frustrated, do you break windows and kill people. These are what those guys did. Those are not good guys.
