  • najo guckt mich an bin ein elch

  • its funny how on every part that would be beneficial for me to see as a violinist the camaraman zooms out or into his face. I wanna see his hand!

  • I heard him perform this live! what an experience!

  • מחריד!

  • Shlomo's version is much better.

  • @milstein91 Is this really the place to say that? Go tell Schlomo.

  • scratchy sound, what s so fantastic about it?

  • @milstein91 It probably sounds much better in the hall.

  • It is as though Wieniawski or Ysaÿe invented this man’s bow arm, reached down and attached it. It is exquisite.

  • @jasonform Oh, the internet makes us so bold these days.

This is an incredibly difficult piece, and probably took a long time to perfect.

Before you make any more rude comments like this, maybe you should consider performing this piece in front of an audience...let alone the Israel Philharmonic.

  • @jasonform Right, he's not talented. But he's playing as a soloist in front of the Israeli Philharmonic and I know his name. What orchestra's have you played with? And have I ever heard of you?

  • If this is really a Del Gesu, he should have stuck to his Gaudagnini!

As I said in the Barber finale, the violin sounds like its back is open or that the soundpost is woefully misplaced.

BUT, he's a wonderful violinist--full of character and charm.

  • and you can't tell that from a youtube video

  • you are SO true !!!!!!

  • @ipmoic You're right..

It doesn't really look like a Del Gesu at all..It definitely doesn't sound like one either. Whatever it is..it's not a good match for him..

  • awesome, i'm playing this now and i think that his sound is really good *-*

  • I love this video and watch it over and over again. No one else's version comes close to Giora's.

  • henryk szryeng (sp?)

  • @love88keys Shlomo Mintz's definitely does. I heard him perform it live in Bonn, Germany less than 2 weeks ago. It was phenomenal.

  • @love88keys it's old.. but what u think about mine? watch?v=3IZZcd5fHVA

  • I've been listening to a bunch of different violinists play this piece tonight and this one is by far the best!

  • wonderful playing.....

  • wow 3:16 i felt has passion even through the shitty youtube sound quality

  • he looks like a mix of Shlomo Mintz n Gil shaham...great guy to love!!!!!!!!!

  • That's what I was thinking LOL

  • I prefers Szeryng version much more

  • How rude of you to say.

  • he's cute too :D

  • glad someone can be nice! don't you like that smirk at 2:34?

  • Maybe he has played both?

  • Silkmeister, you are mistaken. That is a full blown Guernarius model. Take a close look at the F holes and pay special attention to the timbre of the higher tones.

  • ya his violin sounds like a Del Gesu....very deep and dark..

  • The biggest giveaway is the F holes. Stradivari would not have constructed them like that at all.

  • Currently he is playing on a Guadagnini 1753. (May 2009). The ends of the F holes are oval, and the openings are humongous! An incredibly striking violin if you see it in person.

  • I asked him on his FaceBook account and ya he told me he does play on a GB Guadagnini of 1753 on loan to him. But for this performance he used a Guarneri del Gesu of 1743!!1

  • yea. i was the one who asked under you :) haha

  • heheheh....Hahahaha nice to know!!!! :)

  • maggini1 is who adds his videos in to Youtube. Maybe Giora plays a Maggini.

  • He resembles Gil Shaham!

  • The first time I heard this song, my violin teacher played it for my class.

I was completly intranced by the beauty and skill that this song has. I love this song so much, and Mr.Schmidt play it so well...

  • heared him yesterday playing Mendelssohn's e-minor op 64 and we were all just excited!!!

  • you should hear his Franck Sonata in A major for Violin & piano. wish someone had that video.

  • that'S absolutly awsomme...He has played really succesfully

  • Fantástico!!

  • thank you so much...

  • dang, his violin's got some muscle.

    wonder how much it costs

  • Probably around million of dollars;Might be Stradivari.

  • i've had lessons with his father

  • lol zukerman nr 2???

  • I recently became familiar with this piece. It takes guts to perform it as an encore. Giora delivered this so well and the audience clearly appreciated it. Nicely done.

  • how come?

its such a beautiful piece with a great player

id think that the audience would like it :)

  • Depends on where you live, there's a good store near where I am called Lybens(spelling?)on 44th in Main acrossed the street from a Quick Trip.

  • were can i find this song?

  • The new virtuoso of owr times.

  • he plays it fast on some quarters
