  • lol how they draw a goat-tee on the dummy face!!!

  • You'd have to be a dummy to volunteer for this... lol

  • GOOOOOSEEE

  • This is made in South Africa. drie twee een

  • Ejection systems vary with time and model aircraft. In the A7/A-B's that I worked on, the seat cracked the canopy and then you went through it. And if you eject three times, your aviation career is over due to stress on the spine.

  • Typical ejection seats in US Navy aircraft have the pilot going through the glass, but with the "bat ears" on the seat to shatter the glass, visor down and oxygen mask on, as well as the face screen drawn with the eject rope, there's very little chance of the glass getting to the pilot...besides...want to risk a cut or auger in??

  • @MadTarnsman Actually there is a delay built in so that the canopy has time to clear the aircraft. If for some reason the canopy doesn't leave the jet then yse the seat will go thru it.

  • I never want to eject

  • @s25007 Nor wants any pilot. Usually, after 2 ejections you get grounded, for medical reasons, even if it's not your fault.

  • Meet your maker in a Martin Baker....

  • 0:08 was from pink panter XD!

  • Great design, you break the canopy glass with your head

  • @st3reo23 The seat back has two peaks that shatter the canopy--you can see them behind the "pilot's" head. By the time the pilot's helmet makes any contact, the canopy is already shattered. Some planes (Harrier & BAE Hawk, for example) have an explosive cord that runs through the canopy that starts the ejection sequence, some jettison the entire canopy first (F-14, F-16, F-18), and some use seat back breakers--this seat is one of those. This kind & explosive cord gets the pilot out quickest.

  • @BrinsonMHarris yeah, but as I can see, the glass always breaks slightly different, and it looks like you always have a change of it cutting your face or something. I think the F-16 type ejection is the best.

  • 0:08 - it's funny and tragedy - little bit late, but finally opened..

  • The first ejection seat is an Irish design, it opens on impact.

  • I liked the first one

  • Either way that looks fucking painful

  • Hard landing! RIP pilot.

  • The first one is kind of Wylie Coyote...the parachute opens after hitting the bottom of the canyon.

  • first chair reminds me of our Polish type: SK-1 min height is a 250 meters. second seat Martin Baker is probably the older generation have any Q9 or Q10 - zero - zero. At 0:14 fires a second seat, after 7 seconds of opening his parachute canopy. Currently, the best seat in my opinion it is ZVEZDA K36 D: if it is to run a 0:14 a 0:17 pilot fell in construction already in full parachute. Requires only 3 seconds needs K36 to full eject and open ,

  • what's wrong with his face?

  • @rexregum he got down syndrom, they would really use you .

  • ******CRUNCH********

  • facial hair on the test dummy is LOL :)

  • Comment removed

  • looks painful, but the facial hair rocks!

  • At 0:09 I had to laugh: The chute bloats after hitting the ground. Great slapstick.

  • @NetzBlogR After going back and looking at that, I think I nearly died hahahaha. Classic.

  • If you ever get to the Midlands in England (Birmingham & surrounds) treat yourself to a visit to the museum at RAF Cosford. They have an exhibition on the development of the ejection seat.
