John Kitzhaber: I Brought Down the Economy

The people that created this awful and dishonest piece of video have seriously misrepresented the history and dynamics of Oregon politics, funding, and national politics during Kitzhaber's first terms in office.

And what do Republicans offer? A former basketball player whose best utility for the Republicans is that they would use him to take more tax money for themselves. Let's all show Republicans that we are not as stupid as they hope that we are!

First: there is something called irony, and a lot of people don't get it. John Kitzhaber was being ironic--as if it was actually him who brought down the economy under a budget controlled by a Republican State legislature. Second: Just because Kitzhaber was in office doesn't mean he caused it. If you do a little digging, I think you'll find a long and complex history about the rise in Oregon's unemployment, a lot of which had to do with the Northwest Forest Plan under Clinton.
