I had Mr. Robinson the year that this happened. I was in his English class and I have to say he was one of the best teachers I have ever had and I am sad that he is gone. I've seen him a couple times outside of school after this and it was nice. I feel really bad that this happened and wish that he could still be here. :/

You've got to understand the guy's situation, though. We used to teach together. Not that I believe in what he did or agree with it but, at this time, his entire life had fallen apart in the months leading up to this. I mean, he had recently lost just about every person in his life who mattered. Doesn't excuse it but it gives you a context. He was in a lot of pain. This just made it tons worse. I wish I knew what he was up to now.

Quite right. Mr. Robinson could have refused a sobriety test but that was it. Due to suspecion he had to get out of the truck and the cops could search him and his car but if he really wanted to he could have refused the sobriety test, but he would have lost his license anyways.
