  • always keep the sirius in your fukin car, nimrod. i do.

  • first, good song, second, no idea on your problem but i assume you got it fixed by now.

  • i use the stiletto and no issues.

  • Problem is having antenna indoors. Anyone who knows anything about satellite signals will tell you it has to be installed outside where signal is clear just like satellite for television would not work indoors. Just good sense.

  • i'm very serious about sirius satellite radio

  • Should have never merged into one company at all. It was better when they where two companies from the beginning. HELLO, its called FREEDOM to choose whats better. Just like your cell phone and carrier. Dont like them, then move to someone else. Sirius radio does have some bad areas of reception but a lot of things could cause the minor disruption. Walls, antenna, tunnels, underpasses, etc. Cant always except 100% unless u have wifi in ur car and is always connected.

  • the proper antenna aiming in arizona is to the north or northwest...

  • north east

  • Ridiculous

  • Wow you must have the standard antenna. I'm an OTR Trucker and I bought the upgraded antenna and it works wonderfully. Might want to think about spending the $50 and getting the antenna. Its much better. Less dropped signal. Just as in anywhere you have trees or hills you will get a dropped signal . It cant be perfect everywhere. Land radio is the same way. I will never give up my sirius radio. Little to no dropped signal unless I'm in a tunnel or the smokeys.

  • Wow, good thing I got an XM radio, I heard XM runs cooler and more powerfully both receiving reception and outputting to FM radio on your CAR. Phew.

  • That has nothing to do with anything

  • Sirius reception BLOWS. I have a home unit (stratus with home dock). I have tried my antenna facing both North, North east, North west, directly west, etc. The reception cuts in and out SO MUCH. I had XM back when they were a seperate from sirius, and I could set the antenna in the center of a room in my house and get crystal clear reception. Now - they are ONE company, so there is NOTHING TO CHOOSE FROM. I listen to stern between the signal outages.

  • what a fucking piss off

  • Stop listening to that drawn out shit first -

dont expect the antenna on the boombox to be good enough INDOORS ,you need an outdoor antenna!

unless u live by a repeater ,you can look in the signal streanth meny look for TER for terrestrial ,aim the antenna for the highest bars!

  • Yes, if you would have read the comments you would see that I DO NOT have satellite signal from that window. The satellites are confined to the North East quadrant. My window faces due West! Therefore I only have a terrestrial signal. I had it at another employers building where it worked great on terrestrial only. So read before posting please!!!!! Geeeezuz!

  • Now, the stiletto is upwards of $200 and you can buy the boombox for it, which is nice cause it also works as a charger. If you wanna spend the money, it will be well worth it, mainly if your office has wi-fi, because it streams live feed through that and doesnt need the satellite signal, until you get away from your wi-fi signal. Like I said, I got a new radio, the stratus is simple, no big features, got the car and home kit, and boombox. No complaints at all! Signal everywhere

  • I wish we had Wi-Fi at the office, that would be excellent! Actually they take it a step further and deny us access to parts of the web (naughty sites, outside email, video, pictures, etc....) I am going to wait for a bit while they get their act together. It never pays to be an early adopter!

  • Like I said though, the transmitter was awesome, but couldnt get signals in alot of places. My new radio, the transmitter sucks, but can get 3 bars in places i was always getting the "aquiring signal" box coming up. I know a guy who has the sportster and had the same problem, and believe it or not, he bought an extra car antenna, and uses that on his boombox and says it is amazing! I think they could better design the antennas. Hopefully with the merger, more sturdy equipment will come!

  • I do have much hope for the merger. Hope for better equipment! It's been a while since I last looked, but do they still not have a radio you can walk around and listen to live streaming broadcasts? I always thought that was strange that they did not have that. Of course my unit gets so hot, obviously their radios require a lot of energy....

  • I was suprised because my old sirius radio blasted out all the local radio stations and cold listen all through the house on any radio. I can understand the cost of things being much. I mean you can try different things like a new antenna maybe? You know they also sell cables now with an amplifier built into it, but the drawback to that is, it is a 50 ft cable and meant for if your running your antenna outside. Its your call of course but whatever you do i hope it works better for you.

  • A new radio helped me out drastically. Now vs the old radio, the new FM transmitters suck, but a fm direct adapter for the car helps, and a direct connection on a home stereo works best. Like i said before though my old radio had a hell of a time getting a signal anywhere, and when that radio went out this new one was like a breath of fresh air. I get signals in places my old radio wouldnt. I am not being a smartass like others, just telling ya, try a new radio and see if that helps. it did me.

  • They downgraded their FM transmitters on the new radios? Why!! They had the best transmitter on this radio, I was sooo impressed by it. They could have sold it on its own in fact. It blasted out radio channels, try and do that with a belkin radio transmitter!! I may subscribe again, just hate the thought of buying all new equipment. I had this system for about a year and it cost me $350! Money is only good when you spend it I guess.

  • I see that is an older radio and boombox. I got the sirius stratus with the subx1 boombox and the home docking kits and in both instances i put the antenna up close to the ceiling and have yet to have lick of trouble getting a signal here in tennessee. True the antennas are not the best, but they work. The older ones were bad i know that. I had a sanyo crsr-10 and had a hell of a time getting a signal in the house and car with it. get a new radio and boombox and that will fix it im sure.

  • I would really like to get the subscription back, but want something dependable at work. If my office had a view to the N/E I wouldn't have much of a problem. Unfortunately I am stuck with the window facing due West and a Terrestrial only signal. Sirius needs to bump up their terrestrial signal, or something to push their signal strength out further. I did everything I could to hold on to the service, but no luck.

  • hey Sean2me, im having same problem I got Xmradio and they give people cheapest antanna too use, I put my outside of my window and I got at least 2 bars, I hope the company comes out with newer satellites,

  • I tried looking for other antennas, or even a way to rebroadcast the signal, but found nothing. I hope the XM Sirius merger is allowed to happen, hopefully that will lead to better reception. All I have from my office window is terrestrial signal, which comes and goes. I am glad I made this video, it reminds me why I quit my subscription. I miss it, but can do without this for now!

  • I have no issues at all - maybe if I was underground I would. My Sirius is better than any FM or AM that I ever could dream of.

  • duh..... if it is in a boom box inside you are going to have reception issues... this is not something that's takes a great amount of brain power. My recomendations is take the radio back to where you bought it and pull your head out of your a__ and get your money back because you are too stupid to have it!!!!!!!!!!

  • Pfffffttttt..... Ya whatever dummy, you da one dat is da stoopid one, dah, dah, dah! Do you own one of these Mr Stooge? If you did, you may know that there is a terrestrial signal (if you live in civilisation, which I doubt). See, the terrestrial signal allows one to obtain the signal without satellite coverage. Nice try Mr Genius, try and lift your intelligence in some other way. So far you have only lost points, moron.

  • It worked fine as a car radio, not so fine sitting in my windowsill. I have a sealed window, with no view to the satellites. I just got an intermittent terrestrial signal, it was too far away despite me being in a very built up high dense area.

  • my car radio works fine but it also has a huge antenna on it so id get a car kit and see if you could rig up an antenna from the car kit

  • thats not how you spell frustrating you peice of shit, im guessing they didnt find your shitty complaint. how stupid do you have to be to make this anyway

  • Please take your head out of your ass so that I can better understand how stupid you are. Thanks for not adding anything constructive what so ever. How you got here is a puzzle, why you felt compelled to comment is even more curious. I would say your likely the moron here, moron.

  • sirius rocks.i drive nyc to florida and never loose signal.i guess if your not a stern fan you can say fuck it.otherwise, keep it for home and the car.how much you stuck in that hellhole?

  • just find a good spot man... it takes a while...u can do it! put ur ass into it!

  • I got a crappy non-opening window and am far enough a way from the ground based signal that it can't be done. I have no satellite view from there either. So I just cancelled the service!! I love Sirius, but it was too frusterating!!

  • Ha ha, thats funny. I have a window that doesn't open you moron. Ie I can't get outside, dufus.

  • dude, get a proper outdoor antenna you dope
