Half the bible is in Aramaic/Hebrew...what kind of stupid thing is it to say that Jacob couldn't speak a different language? As people migrate to new environments their languages begin to change as well. Ishmael and Isaac's descendants parted different ways. Still today many of the words in both langauges, alphabet and numberals match.

@robincla The bibles were corrupted because they were tranliterated from one language to another - with the original one being lost. Nobody has a copy of the original bible so we cannot verify the original text. Most priests and rabis will tell you the same thing.

The tradition of stoning to death came initially from the bible and was forced into Islam by way of Hadiths. I am an original Muslim that abides by the Quran alone and am anti-Hadith. The Hadiths have corrupted Islam which is why the ME is in such a dire state. Verse 24:2 explains the correct punishment.

Iran and most of the Middle east run their laws based on their local cultures and beliefs - not according to Quranic Sharia law. @4violet44 The 'no compulsion in religion' koranic passage was written when Muhammed lived in Mecca and had very few followers. These few nice passages were abrogated (replaced) by later, more violent passages about killing non-muslims when Muhammed had terrorized enough people, had many violent henchmen and lived in Medina. You are either a lying muslim (taquiyah anyone) or a useful idiot left winger. Read Faith Freedom International please.

@Atin10001 I am Gujerati and I hadn't heard of such things happening in Gujerat or Madras or anywhere in India amongst the Muslim community (or Hindu in these areas) I won't comment on what goes on in the Sikh community that is best left for a Sikh person to answer and we are all well aware of what happens in rural Punjab in non-Sikh communities as well (don't be so selective in ur critique), interesting you link honour Killings in Sikh communities as Sikhs with Islamic links.

'Let there be no compulsion in religion: [Al-Qur'an 2:256]- ( a verse from Quran). If people fail to follow what the religion says , then why do people blame the religion. Quite strange. Anyways, I can clearly see that because she was forced to do something, she became blind to see the benefit of following the act. No one points at the naked women, but a women who is covered in modesty is said to be oppressed. How strange.
It is easy to judge then go deep to find the real reason.

@Fjawad23 let there be no compulsion in religion--that means you can't force someone to be muslim. they can convert, or they can be dhimmis and pay the jizya which makes them second class. and then any apostates should be killed--i'm sure you've got something to excuse that.
if you want to walk around with a tablecloth wrapped on your head, go ahead. in iran or saudi arabia or somalia, you'd be beaten in the street by the religion police. that's opression. that's why muslims move to the west
