i like this tune on crossroads 07, with clapton. i have my kit set up in front of the big screen, crank the surround sound and i get to jam with these guys all the time! hahaha
well thanks for that titillating but disappointing info!! so, what would it take to get the WHOLE song put up on youtube? i have listened to everything available for this, all the duets, duos and solos and NOTHING compares to the sound quality of this song on my headphones; absolutely awesome!! i don't know how you got away with this but it is EXCELLENT! The background, drums, the whole combo is just perfect.

Theyre right when they say WInwood is a rock legend. This doesnt show you how good he is. Winwood when he is properly on form can out sing, out perform and out shine pretty much anyone you put against him.
Steve and his band lit in Kingston Ny for a show and I took me dad. What a great sound ! His conga and sax players were top notch! Dad loved the night. Thanks for this great post!
I can't quite put my finger on what makes this (and Winwood in general) so compelling. I think something about the various rhythms: slow melody vs the beat?
I loved Blind Faith & Cream, there is no better combination than Winwood, Clapton and Baker. This is an excellent live performance of Winwood, thanks for posting it.
what's all this "stoned" talk about anyway? He's a fuckin rock singer from the sixties, who fuckin gives a shit if he's stoned or not, it's a fine performance, and his voice which is very hard to imitate is on point
I agree with both of you, Bobbie & Peter. I think Steve's voice has actually improved with age - it has certainly got stronger since his SDG days. Although he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, I'm searching for a reason why Steve shouldn't be honoured by the Queen and I can't think of one; an oversight that should surely be remedied.
going to the clapton/winwood show at msg.. Stevie sounds/looks great.. have not seen him ina few years.. he opened up for the dead sat in with the boys for a killer low spark.. thanks for the vids...

@Hoopermazing Mine are tied off at the bridge; but I'm sure you can get ball-ends

@brython2 Ahhhh. It's a cool ax. If I didn't already have a nylon string Taylor T5 knock-off, I'd have to seriously think about getting one.

And at his age, he didn't DETUNE to a 1/2 or whole step below the original.
