Most parts are interchangeable with 02-07 WRX's. If you look at the car, it's pretty much identical to a wagon except for the front for the most part. Even the interior is identical except for the seats and the badge on the steering wheel. Have fun with the stage 2! The difference is amazing! I'm a subie owner for life. Already on my second!
I absolutely love this car. Had it for a year now and the reliability is fantastic as well as it being a snow demon. It also gets much better fuel economy that 26 highway, I average about 29 if im not on the turbo constantly and keep it in the 2500 rpm range.

Saab (GM Opel design chief, not really the Saab one) brings very few mechanical modifications : dumpers, bushings, steering (new setings only), steering gear ratio. With some saabish decoration here and there, that's all ! Chassis, engine, design, are all Subaru. In other words, 9-2x is a Subaru with a Saab skin, tuning. This car don't have any Saab Inspiration spirit. Just like that ugly and vintage 9-7x !
The cars are nearly identical. Its a Subaru with a saab body kit. You could easily turn this back into a subaru, and vice versa. Ask anyone, they will tell you this is a Saab branded Subaru Impreza WRX wagon.

There are lots of diehard WRX/subaru fans that will buy the "Saabaru", put on all the aftermarket WRX parts (they all fit), and have a very fun car to have.
this was a good little experiment for gm but ultimately had no future because of the wrx's already niche market. Had a chance to try this car out and by God, it does feel just like a wrx only not as sporty and the ride quality was alot nicer. It did lose a whole lot of its "saabness" but thats relative to what you look for in saabs. I would still say the viggen was the best car gm made as far as power vs weight
Hi, I do agree with that. They have a huge potential to make a big impact in the mid priced market. They missed taking full advantage with rally car racing, that shold have been played up to the max. They also do not promote the fact that they make only all wheel drive cars.They have all the elements Necessary to attract young buyers but thier marketing has been rather lame. Styling needs to improve, They should look at what Mazda has been doing lately,in terms of design.
