I remember when bernie tossed me the game winning out in the season fanaliy in 1998 against the Red Sox. And when i said "your the best" he replied "you know it" with a grin on his face. That was awsome! I think he deserved that MLB cantract! the yankees ow him that contract! Burn Bernie Burn!!! #51 should be retired!
my sister was on the same plane as bernie her and my family was coming home from florida and me and my dad went home early cause i had a baseball game so she went up to him and said are u bernie willioms and he said yea so then my sis said my brother is a big yankee fan can i have ur auto graph and she got it for me.i was at my base ball game and she texted my dad and then and said i got berne willuims auto graph i was like whatttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt
i completely agree, but they have to wait a few years to do it. After all Roger Maris hadto wait 18 years. It will probably be this year, pressure with it being the real one and most guys recently (mattingly) had to wait 2 years
I also agree... they should retire his number and Paul O'neill #21(latroy hawkins should burn in hell for taking that number and then having the guts to say: "I didn't know paul o'neill wore #21)... I grew up watching those two players and specially for bernie because he is latin.
tears to my eyes, I miss bernie williams more than ever. A true role model, a world class athlete and person, never forget the time I met him, what a truly great and humble person. I hope # 51 is honored this last year of what will be known eventually known as old yankee stadium.
hey im a yankee fan for 30 years and I think its SWEEEET too!! I was there and I cried. And for the record, it was the entire stadium not just the bleachers
we need him now definitely with damon limpin around and jason hurt were comin around now but throw bernie on first or somethin damit cashmans such a stubborn jackass if they dont make playoffs this year his head better show up on steinbrenners plate luckily they will turn it around they always do LETS GO YANKEES!!
I think it was in the news paper about cashman leaving. And even if bernie doesnt come back as a player imagine how good of a coach he'd be. The yankees need him in anyway, shape, or form right now.
Bernie was great and he's a legend...no doubt about that. But times change and lineups change...we got a great young team ready to become legends themselves and space has to be made. Bernie will always have a place in my heart though.
Bballfelipe come on don't dis other yankee fans. The only yankee fans that are getting me upset are the one who say "who cares if they don't bring bernie back, we got thompson or resse... the yankees are about tradition. Bernie might not have as much speed but I'm sure he still has the bat. Bernie is also has proven himself as a clutch hitter.
First of all...why is it "CUTE" when they chanted it..Second of all im sure you havent even been to the bleachers especially section 39 so why r u videotaping it..? GO YANKS and RF Bleachers
Bernie Williams has always been and always will be a true New York Yankee. This man has come through for the team more times then I can count. If the Yankees don't allow this class act of a man to finish his career as a New York Yankee and retire would be a damn shame. I tip my hat off to you #51 and thank you.
They Def Have To Retire 51!
