  • I just watched a video of the Freedom Train that showed a flat car with trailers and vehicles on it. Do you know about that car? Pete

  • One thing on this, there was one previous to this, pulled by an Alco in the forties.

  • you should be honored to make such a great train

  • Nice. ive also got the Lionel HO version. It runs pretty good.

  • GREAT JOB

it is nice to see someone else understand the what southern pacific has gone throught to make this wounderful train. I have been looking for other that understand the beauty of these horses.

Real nice. Please llok for my email

  • oops look sorry kids over my shoulder

  • beautiful job with the old lionels and good work on the decaling. If only u had those BN bi-centennials. then it would be complete

  • buet.model!! and you used an old lionel at that!! VOTE! VOTE VOTE!!! ON NOV.4!!!

  • what cars did you use for this?

  • so cool

  • Johnny - How many cars did you add to the Lionel set? Are you going to try to make all the cars, including the flat cars and their loads? You did a nice job on detailing the bell and lunar rover. What did you do for decals ... I've been looking for a good set for years. - Steve

  • awesome.great job

  • KOOL!!!! I'm glad to be an American!!!

  • Nice, Really nice, Just Awesome, none of it (besides the engine) were allready made. Nice

  • what an inspiration.

  • Awesome job.... One thing though.... car 200 was more than a generator car. Two 12 cylinder GMC generators, crew's bathroom and showers and a bunk car for the operations crew. Held 12 bunks and one seperate room for car foreman.... I know because I lived in bunk car for 3 months. Did you make car 201? the pullman sleeper that housed various crew members? Still I would love to have chance to see this in person....... how many hours did you spend on this wonderful reproduction?

  • Thanks Grube54, Yep, I realized that after I put the video together. The AFT 201 just came out of the paint booth(I airbrush everything including the stripes) and should be finished shortly. It's taken me about a year to get this far, working at a less than moderate pace. The train will be displayed this fall/winter at various mid-western locations. Thank you for your kind comments. And always good to hear from a a crew member!! Johnny

  • Nice work on the train. That is some impressive modeling. Too bad you had to paint over a Rio Grande car though ;-) (I'm a Grande fan)

  • Cool! I'm planning on getting the Bachmann version of this

  • I have a lionel version and the Backmann version. The Backmann version is all in DCC

  • Make another video of the train in action!

  • AWESOME Johnny!!!!....Made me put my hand on my heart!...Video was very well done too!

  • Great work Johnny
