@TheCatJoker I am thinking socks basically died of cancer if I remember correctly and I heard that Buddy (dog) died of a car-wreck. from the online description it sounds like buddy ran into street and sec. service couldn't get him fast enough out of harm's way.

Plus when you realize she basically cared for him for almost 10 years after the fact and never gave him up again is cool
Socks and Buddy were a welcome diversion in the scandals that the Clintons shamed the nation with. Yet they are true to their masters like all beloved pets - non judgemental. He did not live a long life but was the best friend Bill had in Washington during his darkest hours. I think it was Harry Truman who said, "If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog." I remember seeing one of the news shows, profiling Socks with Betty at her house in Virginia. He basically hid from the camera crew, as cats are apt to do.
